Took my 16-year old to the ER with sharp, stabbing pain in her lower left abdomin. After 4 hours of waiting, we finally got in a room. The doctor ordered a urinalysis and an ultrasound of her uterus and ovaries. That's it. No blood work, no abdominal xray, no CT. He gave her 1 toradol to help manage her pain. Because she wasnt vomiting, he didn't take her pain seriously even though we explained that she doesn't vomit. He sent her home with a diagnosis with acute abdominal pain, which we were pretty clear on when we arrived at the ER. I asked several times if they could do bloodwork or additional tests. He seemed frustrated by me questioning his doctor abilities/authorities. After 7 hours in the ER, we went home with a gift of no answers for Christmas.
