The Victorian on Main Inn

We stayed here not knowing what to expect, I personally booked it because it reminded me of a hallmark movie, and immediately decided this was the place me and a friend would stay for a conference, we were attending nearby. As soon as we arrived (which was late 9o’clock) Kathleen greeted us with a smile. Both mornings when waking up she had the most delicious breakfast prepared for us and even made a special flavored creamer for my friend who is picky about her coffee it was amazing of course. This house was full of love along with the prettiest china and trinkets you could imagine. The rooms were Beautiful, beds were comfortable and the company from Kathleen was amazing. We will one day be returning to stay at this Gem again. Thanks Kathleen for your wonderful hospitality!

Got to have a one night getaway at The Victorian on Main. The house is just lovely. Feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The room was wonderful. Clean and cozy!
Hospitality was excellent as was the breakfast. As a vegetarian I appreciate that they serve thoughtful healthy delicious food and a lot of it. Such a wonderful getaway I would love to stay there again.

My husband and I attended their afternoon tea and tour...twice! It was so much fun! The people were so welcoming, energetic, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was amazing and the house is gorgeous. After the tea, we checked into the turret room. This is by far the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. It is beautifully decorated and has a cozy comfortable bed. We were able to have drinks on the patio and an amazing breakfast. We left full, relaxed, and happy. There are also restaurants and stores within walking distance. I do wish there were mini refrigerators in the room, but definitely not a deal breaker. We will for sure be back.

Staying at the Victorian was a wonderful experience. The owner, Kathleen, was very knowledgeable about the history of the house, and was eager to answer questions and show antique items throughout. It was like going to a beautiful museum where you can feel at home. If you want to spend the night in a beautiful Victorian home, I would highly recommend it.

Our stay at The Victorian was amazing.Our room was clean and bright and very comfortable.We toured the other rooms during our stay and they are ALL delightful, each being so unique.We would stay in any of them. I am so excited to have such a wonderful option for a stay when coming home to Fairfield. We'll be back!! Kathleen was so attentive. Kathleen and Marti, the breakfast was delicious with so much detail and unique entrees.We loved everything! Thank you. The Inn was beginning to be decorated for Christmas, I know it will be beautiful for those planning a Holiday stay!

This place was better than any hotel, resort, or Airbnb I have ever stayed in. To start, the hospitality was tremendous and it felt like a true home. The decorations and overall experience was absolutely impressive. This place was historic, comfortable, beautiful, and overall pleasant. The breakfast was the best I've had in a very long time (not to mention the coffee was also perfect). I think all Bed & Breakfasts and hotels should model after this place. Not only was the house gorgeous and just amazing, but the service was perfect. All of our needs were met and the staff was kind and thoughtful. Fairfield is a small town and this is the hidden gem of the town. I would go out of my way just to stay here again. If you're making your way through, I strongly recommend this place over anywhere else

I stayed a few times while visiting Fairfield and enjoyed every moment. The rooms are so comfy and unique and the hospitality is unparalleled to what you will find around. The innkeeper, Kathy, is attentive and delivers a mean, homemade breakfast. You better come with an appetite! It would be hard to pick a favorite, but I very much enjoyed the French toast with the homemade syrup. This is a place I would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you!

We were looking for a place to stay that would break up our long drive towards home. My husband found the Victorian on Main Inn on line and we are soooo glad he did. I can only echo what the other positive reviews stated. It is a wonderful place to stay! Kathy's breakfast and company was great! The house held so many treasures and they were all so well placed, it made the home an adventure and made me rather jealous. I just hope that we can make it back to visit with Kathy again. One other note, we came in the middle of the week and were hungry when we arrived. They recommended the Pizza restaurant and I personally think that it put all the chain Pizza Parlors to shame.

Absolutely the best. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is exactly what you need. The rooms are perfectly comfortable and the breakast is amazing. Such a pleasant surprise to find in Fairfield. We enjoyed spending time on the front porch while sitting in the rocking chairs as the evening set in.

The property is extremely well kept and the bed was very comfortable. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in construction and refurbishments was very apparent. The innkeeper is a wonderful lady who made a delicious breakfast for us, shared the history of the house, and chatted with us while we ate. We even got a tour of the other rooms so we could pick out our room for the next time we come to Fairfield. Don't think twice about staying here. Book it!

Such a cute place to stay. The breakfast was delicious and the host was so friendly! Highly recommend. The bed was comfortable. Only thing was, the 3rd floor was chilly so bring an extra blanket! Or I'm sure you could ask for an extra. Love it!

Did not stay, but toured and enjoyed a meal in its historic halls. Very stylish and comfortable looking bedrooms with updated yet antique feel. The attic rooms were by far the neatest. Would recommend staying to anyone looking for a unique room and board in the local area for a night or two.

I will always stay at The Vic when I travel this area. The house is amazing. The staff is amazing. The food is amazing. Breakfast at The Vic feels like having your own personal chef. You really don’t want to miss this experience.

Lovingly restored and cared for, the Victorian on Main Inn is a hidden gem for out-of-state guests and visitors to the Fairfield area. A true joy to tour for history fans of all ages. The location is fabulous along with the historical detailing of the home. Highly recommend their tea events for special occaisions.

Right on Main Street in Fairfield, IL stands a grand lady- The Victorian on Main.
She seems to be a beacon of life and love for her lovely community. One of the longest standing homes in Fairfield, the history and stories she contains are abundant. However, this Victorian is not just a great historical mainstay, but an incredible present and awesome future.

The ownership of this grand lady is a family affair- Amy and Scott Boyett, Amy’s adorable mom and innkeeper Miss Kathy, Amy’s brother and her sister. They have restored and amplified the grandeur of the home. Each room has been designed and filled with amazing furnishings that reflect the past but provide every luxurious modern convenience that you need. During our stay we enjoyed the gorgeous Garden Suite and the Squirrel’s Nest.

The Garden Suite is located on the second floor. The room is so spacious, plus it has a balcony that over looks Main Street. There are windows across the front of the room, which allows for the perfect amount of natural light. The room also has a bathroom, which they have furnished with STEAM toiletries (so nice!). I loved the cozy king size bed- the pillows and linens were divine.

The Squirrel’s Nest is located on the 3rd floor. The room is huge. There is a sitting area, which has a very comfortable sleeper sofa. I enjoyed sitting there watching TV, while my daughter worked at the window-facing desk. According to her, it was the perfect workspace. There are lots of windows around the room allowing for lots of natural light. The bed has its own special room- a cozy and imaginatively designed wooden tent. It was created around the attic-like space, and fits perfectly. The room also has its own bathroom.

The first floor contains lots of areas to relax and enjoy the company of other guests and Miss Kathy. One of my favorite things about the house was the back staircase. While the front staircase is grand, the back staircase made me feel like the home was mine. Like I knew all of the hidden nooks.

To add the icing to our amazing cake of a visit… the breakfast. Miss Kathy serves a delicious buffet style breakfast every morning in the elegant dining room. There are sweet and savory options that are all very pleasing to the palate.

During our amazing stay, we enjoyed being able to talk with other guests as well as to Scott and Miss Kathy. Their passion to create a place for people to come and relax really is just the tip of the iceberg. They truly have a heart to care for people. They take the time to create what each guest needs- whether that is a girls’ getaway, college visit, or family reunion. They have only been open since July 2019, so they have lots more planned for the property.
Jenni and I totally think that you should make your reservation today to have a wonderful stay at the Victorian on Main. I am confident that you will love it and that you will become a return guest, just like us (we are going back in July).

What an adorable place to stay while being in Fairfield! The inn keeper made breakfast according to my paleo restrictions. So delicious, cheery and beautiful. I felt totally safe traveling alone for business. Thank you for making this place so wonderful Victorian on Main!

Honestly, the best bed and breakfast we have been to. The woman running it is a delight and makes the stay not only comforting but also enjoyable. Our room was clean and beautiful. 10/10 stay.

We loved our experience! The Inn was very clean, absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, great linens/mattress's and great food. I'd reccomend it and stay here again and again. Thank you for a lovely experience.

The Victorian on Main in Fairfield, Illinois, is a destination inn.

When curator/proprietor Kathleen & her husband Gary & their family decided to turn their antiques shop into a B&B, she culled the finest items from their inventory for display. Consequently the many collections throughout the inn are incredible, and in a setting that is impeccable.

We stayed in the Tower Room. Lovely, well-appointed & comfortable, it had the most beautiful light coming through the multiple windows.

And the food: It’s hard to act adult when truffled potatoes are set down in front of you — for breakfast.

But the best part of our stay was time spent with Kathleen. So engaging, so knowledgeable, so kind.
