Hi there,
Recently spent a week at the Shady River RV Resort and was/am completely satisfied. Also in the future I will return if availability allows. The park is nice and quiet with tons of tall trees around to buffer any potential noise. In fact, other than the main road I don’t really recall hearing any bothersome noise, regardless time of the day, regardless day of the week. The owner was great along with the prices very reasonable. Thanks for the hospitality Shady River, and I’ll be back in the near future I’m quite certain of it.
Kindest regards,
Scott

My husband has been here for 5 years I have been here for 4. We started our family and marriage here and have been raising our two children here and we are grateful to be here. The river, the pecan grove, being pet friendly, and the neighbors are what makes this place an amazing place to live.

My only complaint and I read all the reviews and I hope that you Pete really listen to the people. The community bathroom needs to be completely torn down and made new because it’s gross and old I won’t even dare to go in there. The laundry room needs to be made new too it’s ghetto abe not resort quality and the washing machine water filter part should be cleaned since it’s a community one. The blacktop never gets cleaned and is not able to be used as it’s intended when there is so much build up The leaves and branches on it have been there for months and have only been swept a bit by my 2 year old another 6 year old sweeping it so they can play. The grass at the river and around the park needs to be kept nice and cut because it tends to get super long and there are a lot of poisonous snakes out in the nature area by the river so tall grass is not child friendly. The WiFi really sucks and needs to be made better. The fence at the playground is FULL of poison ivy, it would seriously be great to get some poison ivy killer all over that fence and get it removed because poison ivy where children play is a NO NO. The water is pretty gross, I don’t know if that’s an rv thing or a city water thing but if you stay here get you a filter Forsure. And lastly people come in speeding all the time and it’s very scary to us because we have little children and animals. We know of 2 peoples pets that got hit by a car and died because people were driving so fast.
I’ve asked for there to be more signs up about the speed and even signs warning that there are children and animals at play, but no response. These signs needs to be 1-3 of them on every street because the speeding is ridiculous and an EVERYDAY thing.

If these things could get fixed finally, then this place would be a true Resort. As of now it’s just a really nice rv park solely because of the location it’s in and the neighbors that are here. The river is gorgeous, my family and I feel safe here, I am pleased with living here clearly since we are going to go on 6 years here. I recommend this park to people I still enjoy my stay and am very grateful. When I’m at the river or sitting at the playground under the pecan trees I feel blessed. Just please Pete fix up these things I mentioned and other people on these reviews have mentioned so this place can be something truly special with no room to complain about anything. That and some of these things are a serious health problem so please take the time and money to fix these things to show some care to us all who stay on your land.
As far as some reviews say that there is clutter at rvs and this place is mainly for long term stayers, I will say this. This place is amazing for long term stayers and it’s been a great community of people here from all walks of life and if you want to stay long term then this place is for you. As far as clutter goes, let’s be real we all live in tiny foot of space in these rvs, to live comfortably you know what you’re going to have some things outside the only way your spot can be super empty and neat all the time is if you are a minimalist, you never go outside and stay in your home watching tv on your free time or something, you’re single, or you work most of your days and are barley home. Other than that you’re going to have stuff outside! As long as it’s not trash and you organize it a bit then so be it. I’m very grateful for my neighbors we all bond and love each others spaces and unite together. It’s great.

This is my Honest review Pros and Cons of living here are Shady River Rv Resort.
Also shout out Gene you’re awesome dude glad you are a manager here.

If you love nature and want to enjoy some beautiful landscape time then stay here! It’s the best part. 5/5 for the land and its fruitfulness.

Lived here for 4 months and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, friendly people, and gorgeous views. Both the owner and manager were kind, helpful, respectful, and patient, and worked hard to help make my stay comfortable and memorable. Definitely recommend.

Stayed here for 2 months while I worked in the area… it was quiet. Nice neighbors. Right by the River. Management is responsive. Had no major issues at all. Served it’s purpose for my stay, would stay again. Felt safe the entire time.

I love this place! I'm a travel nurse who stays on her own, and felt completely safe at all times. The owner and camp host are excellent and responsive. Grounds are well kept and neighbors are all very friendly. I hate to leave but my assignment changed locations, otherwise I would have loved to stay. Thank you for everything! I hope to be back someday!

It is perfect for what I want. Peaceful, clean, out away from the busy-ness of the city. Most residents are long-term. Most get up early and go to work, so things are quiet at night. Many spaces are shaded. I did have an incident with people who came in while I was gone and took my space, then refused to move when they realized their mistake. The owner moved me to a nicer spot. Boo for the travelers from Arkansas, but Yay for Pete!

Great place to live! Gene the manager and Pete the owner are awesome. Pete is very nice, within a few months, I was able to move to a site that I really wanted. It’s Very shaded, which is great because it keeps your rv cool. Overall a great park, and reasonably priced per month. Nice country setting. I would highly recommend to anyone!

I've been living here since August. I LOVE IT!!! I have great neighbors, and the manager and his wife ROCK. The owner is good too. There are some issues (but as a former apt dweller, there are WAY worse) but the manager and his wife always take care of it. I'm a teacher just trying to make ends meet AND save for a house. There are many homeschoolers here, and my kids are enjoying the basketball court. I was worried about "trailer trash"...but I've only met hardworking folks here. The passing through peeps are nice to chit chat with, and have always enjoyed their stay as far as I know. I added a few pics of my view. 😍😍😍

I've enjoyed my stay here and everyone I've met has been super nice. Huge pecan trees are bonus this time of year. When grandkids come visit, they enjoy the playground and walks by the river. The noise from the road is not bad and it's real convenient to Georgetown, so I'm satisfied and I'd definitely stay here again.

We've been here for a short time so far. It's a beautiful, peaceful park. Myself, I am not used to these places so my surprise that I love it here !! The managers are friendly and quite pleasant. The neighbors are just that , neighbors. There isn't the riff raff sort of people here. I'd definitely recommend this place if your looking for a beautiful , peaceful place to live. A few of the amenities , the park has onsight management, laundry facilities, showering , convenience store down the road and all this is located on the San Gabriel River. So whether you live in a RV or just vacation in one Shady River RV Resort is a pleasant place to come to at the end of the day.

I have lived in the park for about a year and half and I love it!! I knew moving in that it was in a flood plane and we got flooded this past weekend and the managers, Gene and Debbie are such amazing, selfless people and gave 150% of themselves during the whole process of helping and evacuating! It is a community of very helpful people and I don’t want to go anywhere else!

It's very quiet and has a great community. The grounds are well maintained and exactly what you'd expect from the name. There's a lot of shady trees everywhere and the property meets up right with the river. Biggest thing is it's very affordable. This place is definitely worth checking out.

Well maintained. Great location. Wonderful nature. Excellent management. I believe poor reviews were by people who created their own bad experience. Perhaps from breaking rules or financial issues? If you can’t get along here. It’s your fault. Highly recommended.

Great place, we've been here close to three years, Carol is the owner that lives on site, he does not tolerate rude and unruly tennants..this place is a great place to stay if you respect the rules and other tennants. (Some people just don't get it)...... we love it here and plan to stay at least another year....
