Fiddler Blues on Lake Murray

We went to this place on recommendation from a friend. This place is a place that you would miss if you were not looking for it. But this place is hidden gem off the beaten path. This place is a down home country place that serves great fried catfish and shrimp at a reasonable price. We were there on a Friday night at 6pm. The parking lot was full and the restaurant was busy, but we did not have a long wait. We were greeted us at the door and our server was awesome considering how busy it was. We will be back for some more of that catfish!

The food was good, and the service was excellent. My only disappointment was limited seafood options on the menu. Fried shrimp, catfish filets, and a crab ball appetizer. They did have a salmon special. It's definitely worth the drive and a visit.

Oh my goodness!! My hubs and I stopped here when another restaurant was closed. Real fries and onion rings! Great service, very welcoming atmosphere. My hamburger steak was good and hubs catfish was good too. Definitely will be back. Picture of my pumpkin spice martini.

Great food! Amanda was our server and she was so sweet and on top of things. It was our first time and we just moved to town, so because of her, Fiddler Blues will be seeing us quite often!!

I always enjoy the food and outstanding service. Their daily specials are always worth a visit and their regular menu has something good for everyone.

Met up with friends in Columbia and Googled restaurants. This is my kind of place. Steamed shrimp and a wedge salad and $4 drafts were perfect. Hamburgers look good, view of Lake and outdoor bar. The restaurant was noisy when full and hot air came in the door every time someone came in. Service was good. Stop by this place.

Our waitress was Lynsley she was totally awesome very knowledgeable about her job on point. I had the shrimp platter shrimp was awesome slaw not so much. My husband got the catfish platter with fries very good. The best thing was the hush puppies with honey butter. This was our first time but we will be back.

Food was wonderful. Service was great. Kids loved it and nice view of lake.

I LOVE Fiddler Blues & could only wish for the area of the lake I reside to even have such a great place. The lake view is PERFECT. The service is SPOT ON. The food was DEEEELICIOUS. GREAT Daily Specials to boot! Keep it up Y'all!!!

Came in with a group for my birthday today! The staff was super nice and the food was great! The view was beautiful!

Pleasantly surprised! This place may not look like “your cup of tea” but, I recommend you give it a try. We’re staying at an Airbnb on Lake Murray and it’s one of the closest restaurants. We were going to drive into town but, thankful we stayed local. Chicken fingers were the best!! Lightly breaded, crisp outside, juicy inside! Other have ordered the hamburger steak and it was perfect! No complaints! We’ll be back, even if it’s for a day trip

Don't eat the ranch dip unless you just feel like going back there everyday for more. Its the best. I have had steaks and they were good. I have gone back for more ranch and they have some funky hours on the weekends (not open during the day I think) so I had to go back to Lexington. Gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so go early.

Party of six and everyone's food was perfect and service was great!

It was our first visit and we enjoyed everything about this place. Food, service & atmosphere just what we were looking for. We will definitely be back.

Well much to my surprise I was impressed with the quality of the food. The reviews are good but I was still skeptical.

Being a former chef, when I looked at the menu and the prices I figured no way is the food going to be that good.
I thought for sure they were opening up a box of frozen shrimp or fish and dropping it in the fryer.

I was wrong best shrimp and catfish I have had since I moved here 2 years ago.

The staff is super friendly and on top of their game.
Nice setting right on the lake.

I am always amazed by peoples poor reviews. If you want something different go somewhere else. Stop hurting businesses we need we poor reviews. Here is an honest review. This is a lake bar and grill. Know how many lake bar and grills there are on the 450 miles of Lake Murray? Very few. So I thank the people at Fiddler Blues. I like the menu, the people, and most of all; the location

Service was great, extremely polite and personable. Food was very good, down to earth atmosphere and good prices. Visited mid September on a Friday night. Club down at the water (TB's) didn't disappoint either. She had a shrimp salad, catfish basket for myself.

My wife and I waited between 1.5 and 2 hours for her food to arrive, when it arrived it wasn't correct (the special of the night taco Tuesday), sent it back and waited and waited, waitress brought out the bowl of rice while we continued to wait for the tacos finally had to give up and go home so my wife never got her supper. My order wasn't correct either. The shame of the whole thing is we were regulars there and had recommended them to many friends and family, but after tonight's issues and a total lack of concern from the owner/ manager we will not be subjecting ourselves or anyone else to that treatment in the future. NO FOOD IS GOOD ENOUGH TO PUT UP WITH THAT.

Update: I spoke to the owner, he offered his apology and an explanation for the events that night. My wife, I and our nabours decided to give things another try. We were very happy with the food and the service.
