Mississippi's Oldest Restaurant. After traveling during the day wanted a non-fast food establishment. A short drive into town didn't disappoint. Traditional but relaxed. Immediately seated. Even have a children's menu...the homemade chips are great, however our youngest guest didn't like the seasoning. Good quantity and full of flavor. Stop in...don't think you will be disappointed.

After a long day of driving to our doctors from our remote house and spending most of the day at the doctors, we were in need of something special and unique to eat for lunch/dinner. That's when we stumbled across Weidmann’s, and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be!

The food at Weidmann’s was simply delicious. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left us craving for more. The atmosphere of the restaurant was not only outstanding but also steeped in history, adding a unique charm to our dining experience. However, what truly stood out was the impeccable service we received.

Our server, Mystic, deserves special praise for her exceptional handling of a sudden influx of customers during a transitional period between lunch and dinner. Despite the unexpected rush, Mystic went above and beyond to ensure that every guest was attended to with a great attitude, a warm smile, and even a touch of humor. It was evident that she was dedicated to providing top-notch service, and she did so with efficiency and grace.

Despite the scheduling challenges that come with unexpected crowds, Mystic managed to get all our meals to us promptly, allowing us to enjoy our dining experience without any delays. Her professionalism and dedication to her work truly made our visit memorable.

And let's not forget about the food! The dishes at Weidmann’s were some of the best we've had in a long time. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in a culinary delight that left us impressed and satisfied.

We have been at a conference in Pearl, MS and it was recommended that we eat at Weidmann’s in Meridian on the way home to Atlanta.
What a Treat! This gem of a restaurant provided us with a wonderful dining experience.
The decor is warm and comfortable, with antiques, art, and photos through the years adorning the walls.
Kennedy was our server, and she took wonderful care of us! One of the managers stopped by during our meal to check on us, and we had a very nice conversation with Molly, another manager, after our meal.
We started with the best fried green tomatoes we’ve ever had! The addition of 1870 sauce with shrimp and mushrooms was heavenly.
I had the creole shrimp quiche. What a delicious treat, and the mixed fruit cup made it the perfect brunch entree.
Laurie had Felix’s Mushroom Swiss Burger, which also had a fried green tomato and a fried egg on it. Along with handcrafted potato chips which made for a great meal that I had to help her finish. 😉
All in all, this was one of the most perfect dining experiences from start to finish, top to bottom that we’ve had.
We will never pass through Meridian, Mississippi ever again without stopping. We need to check out the fare on all 3 of their menus. If I lived here I would make it my mission to try every single menu item they offer.

Weidmann’s was recommended by a friend and I’m glad he did. The history of the restaurant was really cool. The food was excellent l, you have to get the fried green tomatoes! The bread pudding was amazing too. The atmosphere is really nice and if it’s not to hot check out the rooftop bar👍

Did not disappoint! Nate was a very helpful waiter who was patient and very knowledgeable of the specials and dishes. The special blackened shrimp salad was delicious! The dark roux Gumbo and turkey Swiss pannin8 was on point. The chocolate Bourbon infused pecan pie with side of ice cream was so awesome.

Great experience at Weidmann's. We were there a little before 1:00 PM on Wednesday. Did not have to wait to be seated. It was mostly full when we arrived, was almost empty when we left. Lots of memorabilia on the walls. Gallery of Mississippi authors on the stairs to the restrooms. Elevator available. Everything was clean. Service was quick and friendly. Food was excellent.

This is our second time to eat here. I got the BLT with fried green tomatoes and homemade chips. My husband had the hot Nashville chicken with sweet potatoes and hoppin’ john. Both dishes were delicious and huge! Our server Mistique was so sweet and attentive. Service was quick. We were in and out in 40 minutes which was good since were on a trip.

What a cool piece of history! The atmosphere is off the chain hook. The service was impeccable (thank you, Amanda!). And the food was fantastic.

We left with enough leftovers for two days. 😊

We started with a loaded crab cake. This was followed by a Shrimp Remoulade salad and then the Ribeye special with St. Francis sauce.

The cocktails are quite interesting as well. I had Eugenia's Champagne cocktail, which had just the right amount of bitter.

The restaurant was a wonderful place to eat. The only place I've ever eaten where peanut butter & crackers are served as a complimentary appetizer. Our server, Connor, was a delight. He had great suggestions for the menu choices and even shared some history with us. The crab cakes were some of the best I've eaten, full of crabmeat! Definitely recommend this place and ask for Connor as your server!

This is a nice date night restaurant. It is beautiful and charming restaurant with good food. I want to say this is a good feeling restaurant in terms of the decor is very rich and warm, and feels very classy and just a nice place to have a meal.

This was my first visit, and I loved the peanut butter--it is such a cute idea and delicious. Equally delicious are the rolls that they serve after the peanut butter & crackers. It seems very generous for a restaurant to give peanut butter & crackers and rolls both of high quality. Much appreciated.

So, the food. I LOVE the crab on fried green tomato...such a great comfort food. My husband loved the gumbo.

He had catfish was decent. I had blackened fish was decent. I would say the fish isn't my favorite, but I am from Florida so it might not be a fair comparison. The cheese grits are DELICIOUS!

The desserts are amazing. My husband had a lemon-nut pie and he loved it. I had the black bottom pie and it was DELICIOUS! I loved it

The waiter was fantastic and attentive. I never went without a refill. In addition, a manager came over and spoke to us and told us about the restaurant and gave us dessert suggestions.

Overall, I would say that I love this restaurant. I can't wait to come back and try some other meals. I also would love to try to their Sunday brunch.

First-time visitor and Oh my word! Probably the best meal I've ever eaten at a restaurant! The Chicken YaYa is incredible! Great location, decor and service A++

Excellent meal with great service and ambiance. Next time, I'll have to remember to order the off-menu linguine for my chicken parmesan. We tried both the world-famous Black Bottom Pie and their Peanut Butter pie, but the PB pie was our favorite overall. It was so creamy and delicious without being too sweet. Fantastic food and we can't wait to have it again!

My first time at this historic restaurant and it won’t be the last. Atmosphere service and food were amazing! Our server AJ was outstanding courteous attentive friendly and professional! I had the crab cakes Benedict with side of bacon 10/10!!!

Can you say Hidden Gem. Look no father for hands down the absolute Best Meal in Meridian MS. Located just a couple of miles of Interstate 20/59 this is the One. Perfect location downtown Meridian. Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming hostesses and servers. Our meals were seasoned perfectly and prepared just like we ordered. Everything was hot and fresh, once we ordered the food was served within 10-15 minutes. We will definitely return to try one of the other great choices on the menu. 5 stars.

We were traveling to Louisiana and this was our hangry stop aka eat now or cry stage..lol.

We drove past the restaurant and looked at the reviews. One review stood out to us so we decided to give it a try. The service was delightful. Our waitress Amanda was pleasant, friendly and professional. The food was delicious. The restaurant's decor was nice. I loved the art on the walls. Plus, if you love to reminisce, there's peanut butter and crackers on the tables.

After a long day of traveling, we were looking for something local, casual, certainly non-fast food. We didn’t do a whole lot of research, the brief description and rating drew us in.
What a surprise! Nice downtown location, 150 years in operation. Charming, historical ambience, with a strong bent to fine dining - hostess stand, lighting, fine linen tablecloths. Almost under-dressed in our shorts and t-shirts, but not the only ones dressed similarly.
Food was just awesome! Blackened redfish the way I remembered it years ago, shrimp and grits for my guest. Kendall was our server, with impeccable service.
Topped off with turtle pie - obviously homemade and HUGE portions.

Weidmanns is a gem in meridian. Oldest restaurant in Mississippi (1870). I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. I got the fried green tomatoes with 1870 sauce this time.

We stopped in for dinner while in the area and were very pleased! They were very busy on a Saturday evening and we sat at the bar and we received great service. We started with the Fried green tomatoes with 1870 sauce and they were amazing! My husband got the Blackened Redfish and I got the crab cakes and both of them were very flavorful and plentiful! We also both got the potatoes au gratin. The meal was very good, the service was great and the restaurant was so cute and comfortable. Would highly recommend and we will be back when in the area!

Passing through and my son chose this. Historic building and restaurant, casual to dressy, we were made to feel at home. Linens are covered for easy changing between guests. Took server recommendations and very much enjoyed the meal, the atmosphere, the service. Left with lunch for the next day.
