Merit Water Park

This is my favorite spot to go to in Mississippi. It's always so nice and beautiful out there. Many people go there for photo shoots. It's perfect for a peaceful, family friendly little swimming hole. Bring bug spray just in case though. Sometimes the gnats or mosquitos like to come out and play.

To get to the park, at the intersection of Merit Road and Hwy 43, there's a little building with a blue roof. The park is down the dirt road on the left side of the building. (The directions I got from Google GPS were wrong.) I went on April 24th around 10:30 am. The water was cold, and there were only two other cars. There's a beautiful waterfall, and further down people wade in the water. One couple had set up camp on a sandbar with their coolers and chairs.

Nice little area especially for the kids. They really had fun yesterday. they have a few picnic tables. Dog friendly.

This place is a hidden gem. **Don’t use the google directions, they are wrong** There’s a blue house and the entrance is to the left of it, with a small white sign that says “Merit Swim Hole”. Follow that path and it takes you right to the water. The place is beautiful, tall green trees on all sides and gorgeous clear water. The water temperature is perfect with the hot weather! Make sure to check this place out if u need somewhere to swim.

This place is fabulous! I parked it here for longer than I do most places.

We had a great time we even found a clay slide. It's a really small park but there were plenty of places to sit and eat.

Gets really crowded in summer. But what water park doesn't? It's a clean little area, very nicely maintained. Doesn't have a large area for parking, has a couple picnic tables and a port a potty. Plenty of shade trees and horseflies and mosquitoes aren't too bad. My kid loves it.

I love it there. My uncle and some of his friends made the clay slide when they were teenagers which to me the clay slide us a big bonus. But other than that, the park is very family friendly and the waterfalls sound great!!!

Great place to explore, picnic and relax. It is kept very clean. Kids love it too!!!

It was Beautiful!!! Just what I needed!!! It was a great place to read, pray and meditate. I am a tree hugger , and this place had plenty of them. I am definitely going back.

I'm sure it's nice, but I apparently came at the wrong time of year. (Sept. 20). Posting this so other people can see--according to whoever runs this place, it's only open "when the kids are out of school" around June- early September. It's also not open 24 hours according to the sign posted (8am - 5 pm). Call the number on the listing to verify before you go.

Water is always cool…. Even when it is 90 degrees outside. Great place for families.

Love it here! We bring our family every year and even do birthday parties here. Great family fun, nice environment, and it's free.

This is not technically a "water park". It is all nature. A river surrounded by thick woods with a natural waterfall. It's really beautiful and fun to swim in. It is very crowded on weekends, so my family tries to go during the week, whenever possible.

It's usually got a couple people there when we get there but they r friendly and no one bothers you... Very beautiful scenery also.
