Excellent cute small place for breakfast. Fresh baked goods were delicious, excellent coffee and coffee type drinks. I had an omelet, with blueberry muffin - so good! My latte was fantastic. First time here will definitely come back

Great place to get coffee. My wife and I stopped here on our way back to our beach house and the lady was very kind to help us choose the coffee. Plus their coffee is fantastic. The lady behind the counter was super knowledgeable and was able to explain to us. We traditionally find a coffee spot at the beach to get coffee in the mornings and we just found our new place.

One of the best breakfast bagels I've had in a long time! The menu keeps it simple and they do what they do extremely well. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned, the egg was flavorful, the bagel was toasted just right. Also, they offer a really good dirty chai latte.

Love the atmosphere and availability of wine and food! Sandwiches are delish! We git our order and went to eat it on one of the park benches across the street

This is a great coffee house. This is our second time coming here. The nice lady at the front counter told us about the breakfast special, pastries and coffee. We had a everything bagel sandwich and a cinnamon twist with black coffee. Everything was very fresh and delicious!

Mavericks Java is a delightful little coffee spot right across from the Sunset Beach Park. We send our vacation guests there, and they often text thanking me for the recommendation. We love to have breakfast there, and then enjoy a stroll through the park with our delicious coffee sometimes sitting on the swings beside the Waterway to watch the boats go by.

Love love love this coffee shop! It looks smaller on the outside but is so big on the inside! I got a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant when I went there. Absolutely amazing! Also met my friend “Echo” who was there on an exchange program for the summer from China. All in all, a great place!

Great selection of coffees, both hot & cold!!! Scones are really good, and they have a nice selection of wines, even Italian ones. Great little cafe style, very comfortable! I highly recommend their "Sunset Turtle" hot coffee!!!

Went here before heading to walk on the beach. I got a Sunset Turtle Mocha and my husband a Mocha Frappe. Both were delicious! They have 3 non dairy options (coconut, almond, and soy), so my day was made as a lactose intolerant individual. My drink was so good, I thought it was made with real milk. Would definitely go back next time we are here.

A top-notch coffee shop, in my opinion.

After a series of random events, I found myself washed up at Sunset Beach, NC; and, in search of some good coffee and a place to eat my lunch, I spied Maverick's Java on its pleasant roadside lot. To my surprise, the shop turned out to be everything I wanted: good espresso at a good price in a good location -- and organic coffee to boot! The barista who waited on me was friendly and attentive (and obliged my order for a weird, single-shot Americano); also, the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. In the end, I sat out front under an umbrella, eating good food and drinking good coffee and reading a good book -- excellent! In my lunch hour spent at Maverick's, all was right in the world, and I left with a special satisfaction.

My thanks goes out to all associated with this business. I am grateful for, and have benefited from, your work and service. Keep it up, guys and gals!

This is a nice little cafe before you cross over the bridge going into Sunset Beach. They have a huge assortment of specialty coffees and pastries. I believe they serve breakfast and lunch. My daughter especially loves Zoltar, the fortune telling machine, located in the back of the cafe.

Super cute place and super great coffee. My group had a latte, a cappuccino, and an americano. All 3 items were great (along with the little andies mint they gave us). Deffinatly the best coffee around sunset beach.

The cook was amazing! The girls behind the counter were personable and the coffees were delicious. Will definitely return the next time in the area.

I'm a breakfast sandwich connoisseur and the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant is worth the drive from Ocean Isle. They also have a nice selection of muffins. Cool place.

An excellent breakfast and good coffee. The negative reviews were all from a couple years ago, they have their s*** together at this point. A good experience in general.
