Lazy Dog Acres

Ashley was a wonderful host when my friends and I came down in January for the Broxton Bridge event. Her breakfast and dinners were wonderful! The rooms were great! We really enjoyed her company and the other guests as well. We will give her the best rating possible!

Due to the nature of my job, I stay in 4-star+ hotels 2-3 nights a week all over the country. So when it came time for me to visit my son in Platte City for the birth of my first grandchild, I wanted something other than a hotel. And...boy did I find that at Lazy Dog Acres. It was a truly a home away from home! From the moment I met Ashley and Issa, I felt very welcome. The room and bath were cozy and comfortable. The extra touches around the room made it even more hospitable. Each morning Ashley had delicious, warm muffins - even on the morning that I had to leave very early to get to the hospital. I just could not have asked for a better AirBnb experience. Without a doubt, I'll be back and I look forward to seeing my new friends again.

Superior customer service. Ashley Allen bents over triple to meet guest needs. She differs from national chains in that she cares. Employees at chains are only working for the pay check. BUT her cooking rating exceeds her customer service rating.

Please revise website so as more than 5 stars can be given.

I had a lovely time at Lazy Dog Acres! It was exactly the peace and quiet I was looking for. Ashley was warm and welcoming. I hope to be able to visit again!

My fiance and I were going to get married at Lazy Dog Acres this summer. Unfortunately we had to postpone due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We originally did not want to postpone but in the end decided it was the best option. Ashley has a great property and lovely animals. She was great to work with for most of the time we did business with her. Upon finding out that we might postpone she offered masks and social distancing. We really appreciated her offering those things. Many of our guests though still felt very unsafe travelling. We did not want them to miss out on our wedding because of this pandemic. The other vendors we had booked were amazing and transferred our deposits. They also worked with us to set a new fall date. Ashley told us the deposit would have to be repaid. The only other date she offered was a month away. A month was not going to be enough time for our guests to feel comfortable travelling. She was very unwilling to consider moving the wedding to a fall date. She was very adamant that we keep our original date. The more we leaned to postponing the less she was willing to work with us. She did not tell us that all of the fall dates were booked by other couples. Moving to a fall date was just simply out of the question. Sadly we decided to end our business dealings with Ashley. I notified her that we were going to do business with a different venue and I was sorry things didn't work out. I received no response from Ashley. Not even "ok" or "sorry to hear that". It was very sad that she did not seem to care about losing a customer or our very disappointing experience. Again Lazy Dog Acres is a great venue and it is sad that things did not work out. We wish Ashley the best. Sadly we just had an extremely disappointing experience with the venue owner during a global pandemic.
