Salty's Island Bar & Grille

Went to Salty's Island bar & grille with a group after a day at the beach.

The service was fantastic (Braxton was our server), the menu had great selection as well. The meal was delicious and the drink was good although the margarita was a bit pricey.

I'd highly recommend checking Salty's if you are in the area.

Wow. We’re staying at the Opal Sands for a week and Salty’s is across the street … this has to be one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Highly recommend and clean. Good service, friendly staff. Coconut mojito was delicious…

Great place for breakfast! Served till 11:30am I got the 2 egg breakfast plate with gouda grits and sausage. Hubby got the biscuits and gravy. My favorite part was the gouda grits. Simply amazing! Totally different and unique! Definitely recommend for breakfast!

I will have to admit, I am a strange individual when it comes to the handling and preparation of my food. It doesn't take much to shut my appetite down and only once to never return. So, having said that, it is difficult for any restaurant to get 5 stars. Salty's Island bar & grill is a restaurant I feel comfortable giving that rating! If you do go, try the coconut rice!

The food great!! The lady that was are server was great and she was the only one working. The place was great. I would go back!

Ate a $300, a dinner cruise, and a couple of other spots during our stay. Salty's was the best by far! Plantains were perfect. Caramelized to a slight crisp, the right pinch of salt hits right before you reach the delectable sweet center. The coconut shrimp bowl was a refreshing balance of savory and sweet. The Pacific rim tuna sandwich is goodness on a bun!! Cheesy Grits were a hit, too. Service and food were so good we went two days in a row!

Less than 5 minutes walk from Clearwater Beach and in front of hotels. There was a live guitarist and singer performing. It was beautiful. Good customer service and atmosphere. Food was tasteful.

Great place for breakfast! The strawberry smash drink was very good, so was the breakfast sandwich and the biscuits & gravy. Our server was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. It was so good we ate here 2 times for breakfast. I’m sure lunch and dinner are just as good!

Crab and shortrib bennys were delicious, eggs were a bit overcooked. Lovely staff, fast service. :)

Basic beach bar vibes (that's a good thing in my book), solid menu and good food and - brilliant baked oyster selection. Had the sampler and it was delicious. It's close enough to the Gulf and open-air so you can smell the beach.

Nice food, perfect location! We ordered fried calamari and avocado egg rolls, and the best of the best was the drink Tito’s all American Lemonade. Good job 👍🏻

We had grilled sea scallops and Macadamia nut crusted grouper…bother we’re delightful and large servings. The grouper was perfectly deep fried to a golden brown and served with a vanilla rum butter sauce that drafted delicious but I just couldn’t reconcile the flavors together so I ate them separately. The Jicama slaw is sweet and crunchy and I would definitely recommend. The grilled sea scallops described as coming on a bed of creamed corn with bacon. It was more so in a bowl and looked like a chowder. She described it as delicious and the number of scallops was unusually high. The coconut rice as good with a roasted salty flavor. Definitely dine here!

They have the best coconut shrimp I’ve ever had, the shrimp is fresh and not overly breaded. The plantains were phenomenal and the rice melted in your mouth. The views are great and you feel the breeze from the ocean.

I have a lot of restaurants I would recommend on Clearwater Beach, but if I could only go to one restaurant on my trip, it would be Salty's. Upstairs or downstairs, the covered, open-air atmosphere is terrific, and gives off a nice, casual beach vibe! They have live music downstairs on the main level, but it doesn't overpower the conversation which is awesome.

FOOD: My favorite thing on Clearwater Beach to eat is Salty's Royal Red Shrimp. They offer it sauteed or chilled, get it sauteed. It's a little messy to eat, but it's the best shrimp on the island (and there's a LOT of good shrimp on the island). Their shrimp scampi is also very good, and I've also had their New York Strip if you're just wanting more of a taste of home. I haven't had a meal there I haven't liked! The Margaritas are fine - not spectacular but not bad either - well mixed but not memorable.

The service however is quite memorable. On our last visit, we brought our two little toddlers (and a small kids backpack just to have some table toys). After our meal we packed up and left, started walking back to the hotel. A block and a half later, we hear our waitress, running after us. We'd forgotten the kids' backpack and the waitress was bound and determined to make sure we got it back! Super kind people there! (And the kids ate like champions there too, by the way - good kid-friendly food!)

If you can only pick one place on your visit, make it Salty's and thank me later.

We have had breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, and drinks many different times at Salty's and we never had a bad meal. From the food to the drinks you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic Experience!

The food was fabulous, service tremendous! What a pleasant experience ... so much so, during our stay we revisited and will again next time we visit the area. The Crab Legs a must, the Clam Chowder - OFF the charts! Beverage selection, tropical and not so fruity array, spanning frozen, to brew, to vino!

Open environment, clean, and welcoming.

We will be back ... so nice to know not everything has been swallowed up by brick and mortar blocking the sun.
