Cafe Largo

We went to Cafe Largo for the third time on Valentine’s Day. Again, everything was perfect. Chef Linus prepared absolutely delicious grouper for the entre. He came out later and greeted everyone individually. Appetizer was a homemade terrine with morels and a celery salad. Desert was Bavarian cream and an apple “packet.” Seating is limited and the service from Yvonne, who is charming was the best. It’s a little out of the way but it remains our favorite restaurant in the Tampa Bay Area.

You do not have to order a six course meal with paired wines to enjoy the food at Cafe Largo. Hostess Yvonne will graciously, courteously and patiently answer all your questions and help you choose specific items. All items we ordered were prepared by Chef Linus and were superb. Especially notable were the riesling soup with a subtle wine aftertaste, and the veal chop in champagne sauce!

First time visiting Cafe Largo after discovering this gem and reading the positive reviews. We arrived at 630 it wasn't busy but by the time we left all the tables were full. Easy to see why, eatery was taken over recently by a nice couple who are very attentive. While the menu is a bit limited, we really enjoyed the choices available. Fish and Beef Stroganoff were tasty, wine and beer is available. Chef introduces himself to customers. Great small quiet place to enjoy a romantic dinner or time with friends and family.

We celebrated New Year’s Eve here. Chef Linus and his wife, Yvonne provided a night of delicious excellence. Our meal began with lobster ravioli, followed by a special wedge salad. The choice of sea bass or beef. I went with the beef. My wife, the sea bass, which I tried. Both were scrumptious. The meal ended with a chocolate cake, sour ice cream and mango mousse. All in all, a 5-Star evening! Highly recommended!!

We love going to Cafe Largo to celebrate special occasions. Yvonne and Chef Linus make your dining experience delicious, magical and unforgettable. We highly recommend this special little gem restaurant. It’s by far one of the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area.

Additionally, they can arrange private parties - we recently had a wonderful in-home private chef experience for my father’s birthday, where Chef Linus & Yvonne prepared a delicious meal! If I could give more than stars, I would!

Hands down one of the best meals that we ever had! This restaurant is more than just a hidden gem. From the time you step in, Yvonne greets you at the door and make you feel like you are returning home after being away for a long time. She is extremely hospitable and explains everything that you need to know about the menu, and gives you all the time in the world to decide. The ambience is astounding. No excessive loudness, and the subtle music sets the perfect mood. Deciding what to get would be the hardest part. Our dinner was nothing short of world-class deliciousness. From the first bite you realize that Chef Linus bundles his experience with a lot of love. It's like eating food that was made just for your taste buds and you may even wonder if it would be ok to order a second meal. Yvonne caters to your every need and Chef Linus comes out to greet you and make sure that everything was as delicious as he intended. If you are someone who is considering dining here, please do. You will have absolutely no regrets!
The only caveat that's worth mentioning is that Google maps may send you to the street directly behind the restaurant but that may just add to your exciting experience once you find your treasure.

I would like to give a huge thanks to this beautiful café. The lady that helped showed great hospitality and was very happy to help. I would give this café a 10/10. It gives off a very elegant but inviting feel when you walk in. I got a small salad because I wasn’t to sure on what to eat. But that was the best salad I have had in a long time. I really enjoyed my time there.
My friend was happily offered another option when she tried the onion soup but was looking for a different flavor, which was kind. I will definitely be back.

The food is incredible!!! Best meal we’ve had in a long time. The beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked, so tender, and melts in your mouth. The deserts were homemade and delicious. Not only was the food a treat, but the service was exceptional. Owned by a very sweet couple. This is definitely a little gem you will want to check out.

Great food and service...enjoyed the duck, wife loved her fish. Leave some room for dessert - the homemade coffee ice cream was amazing! Nice wine choices.

We really love this restaurant with excellent European food Michelin star quality and presentation. Romantic atmosphere, light music, and very nice owners. Today we tried a paella as a special, so delicious. And desserts are just awesome - chocolate mousse and Mille feuille are my favorite 😍

WOW! What a great date night! First time here, and everything was amazing! A husband and wife team and they will melt your heart! Food was amazing, had a great bottle of wine, and dessert was to die for. Everything is fresh and home made! So happy we found this place!

Still Excellent After all These Years

Four of us enjoyed an excellent meal at Café Largo. It was Wednesday and the place only had a couple of other tables full—one was a large birthday party. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Our server, the wife of the couple that owns the place, was very sweet and helpful.

The food was all delicious. We shared an order of the appetizer scallops and the foie gras. For mains we had a fantastic veal chop and delicious lamb chops and a couple branzino. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate mousse, the ice caffe glace and their homemade ice cream--all wonderful.

It’s nice to have an option for some excellent wines. The Margaux was very good, but the Pomerol was even better.

Café Largo is an excellent choice for any kind of special event dinner. I hope it won’t be too long until our next visit.

We went here for Mother's Day with my in-laws, and had the best experience. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, and the service was impeccable. We had such a lovely time chatting with the owners, and the food was superb. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!!

My wife and I have dined at Michelin star, James Beard restaurants, and I have to be honest this place was better than any of those by far. Amazing food and service in a very quiet comfortable atmosphere. You will not be disappointed to come here I cannot recommend it enough. The only problem I do have is I don't even know what to recommend you try as it was all amazing.

A hidden gem!

Who would’ve thought I would find myself experiencing truly traditional French cuisine, service and atmosphere in Largo?

A lovely experience, fantastic food.

My husband I joined our friends for a wonderful evening at Cafe Largo and immediately fell in love with Yvonne and Linus. They are so warm, gracious, and personable with their service. We had Riesling soup which was absolutely delicious. Our entrees were fantastic - steak au poivre was simply divine. Crème Brûlée was absolute perfection. The chocolate mousse was just the right level of sweetness made from Swiss chocolate. We were so delighted to find this amazing restaurant and plan to return soon and often.

Always the best here. It is our wedding anniversary spot. Love the food, love the ambiance and on this time of the pandemic, it feels good to have a taste of my childhood dishes without being able to travel to France. If you want to taste real French cuisine, this is it.
