Publix Super Market at Westgate Shopping Center

This was one of the oldest locations but it was recently completely redone. It’s brand new and super clean. The interior looks ways different and the layout is a lot better. They have tons of healthy items which we loved.

They have just about anything you could imagine. The associates are always friendly and helpful.

The Oriental deli at this Publix is the best! This is my favorite lunch spot. The food is amazing, affordable, and the staff (Denis) are super friendly and helpful. I like having the upstairs dining area too

Brand new rebuilt location with upstairs convenient lounge and table seating for relaxation, studying, and eating. Most importantly, I was able to buy what is essential for our household, especially the BOGO promotions and dozens of perks offered in store and on the app!

This is the best Publix in town! Especially the deli staff, my wife only likes a specific custom sub with two different meats. The Market Square Publix staff is lazy and messes up the order every time, but this one always gets it right! I go way out of my way to shop here, but it is worth it.

I love this Publix, they make the best pubsubs and always have the best selections available for each department. Shout out to Simeon, he was very knowledgeable and helped me find what I was looking for! Bonus, the bathrooms are always super clean.

Its funny how all the photos are of the old westgate publix. Anyway it's fine it's a publix yknow. This might be common knowledge but it was news to me: publix stopped manufacturing those humungous scales in 2015 so any publix built after that doesn't have one. Needless to say this location doesn't have a scale in the entrance since it was redone just a couple years ago. Shoutout to the bakery people for always giving me a cookie even tho i'm like the same age as them

Super clean and a vast improvement over the old location. Love the balcony section so you can eat your chicken tender sub and watch everyone do their shopping

I love Publix, especially this one. The staff is warm, welcoming and polite, not to mention that is one of the largest Publix stores in Gainesville and their deli is awesome! Additionally, this store is top notch and clean. I will definitely stop here again soon!

Much better experience.

Not a good experience. Got to the deli and although there were 5 employees and no one ahead of me had to wait 5 minutes before being able to place my order.

Then the bagger was almost rude and failed to zip up the insulated bags.

An absolutely amazing store!!!! I especially enjoyed meeting the store manager Amanda Baskott. The upstairs area to relax & have a bite to eat makes the store that much more inviting. Excellent job PUBIX!!!!

Great subs. Cool places to have lunch. Couldn't find the hotwheels. Hope more publix super markets turn out like this.

Very nice Publix with an upstairs dining area! They even occasionally have samples like a Costco.

It's a new Publix that they built after they tore down the other store and the plaza and the other stores that were there this Publix is awesome so much room inside big area for the deli a lot of new cool items and ways to display them a lot of easy self service the hot items you can see an inspect if you like right up front very close visual area for the buffet of hot chicken pork etc I don't know at least 10 or 12 different side items to choose from on the hot bar it's really nice Publix plenty of room signage everywhere to help you find what you're looking for large areas that distinguish the bakery from the deli and the seafood everything's very visible and easy to find and as always at Publix there's plenty of staff to help if you need some help finding something or getting something from the hot or cold bar nice area to make sandwiches subs etc..
Plenty of help available plenty of registers open of course there's a self-checkout if you prefer it's a really nice Publix they did a great job designing and building that store and as always the staff is not only plenty of staff there but they're always friendly and respectful and ready to help for whatever you need I'm really glad that Publix it'll be one of my favorite places to go and shop in Gainesville and I've got delicious quality food especially the meats The boar's Head that's one of my favorites I just got a half a pound and ate it right out the bag LOL.. 😃🙂

I like this location a lot -- the staff and management are always helpful and knowledgeable. The deli department here is great ,too!

A very unique layout for a Publix, very nice and smiling staff I will be coming here again

This is probably the best Publix in town right now. I've been shopping at this particular store for about 20 years now, and I've always found the staff to be helpful and kind, but the store was quite old. Since they rebuilt the property last year, the store itself is really quite nice. There's a mezzanine area accessible by stair and elevator with bathroom facilities, a microwave, a dining area, and even a couch to relax on. You can walk in the store, buy some food (even a microwaveable dinner), and then go upstairs to eat it where there's a nice view of both the outside and the interior of the store. It really is nice, and my family and I eat there some times just to experience it.

Speaking of food, they have really excellent deli now. There's all sorts of stuff available that I haven't seen in other local Publix's (ie. an olive bar). There's sushi, but they also have some sort of rice bowl available. I honestly haven't had the chance to try everything. There are just too many options. The rest of the store is well stocked and clean. The aisles are wide enough that traffic can pass freely around shoppers looking at items. The layout makes sense, and I can start from the deli and work my way to the left aisle by aisle until I'm done shopping without having to backtrack. Also, and this can't be understated, it smells good in there. None of that rancid food smell you get sometimes in grocery stores. Just fried chicken and blessed air conditioning.

Anyway, I love this place. My wife and I used to get subs there when we were just dating. My son grew up eating their popcorn chicken and chatting with the staff. Now my daughter is doing the same thing. It's one of the places that makes my surrounding community feel like home. I realize that might sound ridiculous, but it's true.

On a final note, I want to point out how good they have been to my daughter. She has special needs, and there have been many MANY screaming fits in the store. The staff have never made me or my wife feel uncomfortable when this happens, and they never mention it afterwards. They just treat my little girl the same as they did before. The gratitude I feel for that acceptance is hard to put into words. If you have a special needs child, I reckon you know what I'm talking about. This a safe place, and the people here are kind.

Great service and easy breezy experience. One of my favorites in town!
