Let me start off by saying this: this place is incredible. From the staff, to the decores, and location, Bob’s Barber Shop is a great place to get your hair done properly to how you want it.

James is the one that cut my hair today and he is a very personable gentleman. He has been cutting hair at Bob’s Barber Shop since 2001. He is there Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for anybody curious. Miss Margaret (I believe she’s the owner) also does a fantastic job. She has cut my hair there before as well. I know that it is $20 for a haircut but be sure to bring cash, as credit card and debit card or not accepted. I’m not sure how much other services cost, but if you call within operating business hours Mon-Fri 08:00 -18:00, Sat. 09:00-15:00, they will gladly let you know pricing, and even book your appointment. Just give first and last name along with time (if available).

Bob’s Barber shop is located off the corner of NW. 23rd Ave. and NW. 12th St., just on the other side of the street from Wawa. They have a blue sign with barber shop on the street front so you know where to go.

Both James, Margaret, and any other staff that work there are very personable people and love to talk. They make for an excellent atmosphere inside the shop. They also have very cool decores inside the shop from a giant marlin on the wall to old golf clubs, to anything else you can think of. They even sell products for hair care and beard care.

If you’re like me and are looking for somewhere in town that truly is capable of making your haircut how YOU want it, at a very reasonable rate, Bob’s Barber Shop is the place to go. They WILL do you right.

I used to live on the west side of town and could never find a barber that was consistent. All those chain places just never got my basic haircut right even when it was the same person. Since going to Bob’s, I’ve had each of the three barbers cut my hair and they all did a fantastic job. AND they’re consistent every time. They always provide great conversation and a friendly environment. For $20 you will not find a better haircut in the Gainesville area!

Doug is a great dude n even better old school style barber! Highly recommend anyone with style, personality, taste and class with vintage and retro mindset get a haircut and historical visit there!! Place is loaded with nostalgia for the military and gator fan!!!

Came here all the way from Connecticut and James and Doug were amazing. Will definitely come here again next time I'm in Gainesville!

Best Barbershop in Gainesville hands down. Made me feel at home. Very old modern styled barbershop. Highly recommend. My 2 boys love their cuts. Super fast and very well priced. $15 kids cuts (15 and under). Will be our go to shop from now on. Thank yall so much.

Brought my husband and son in for a cut this morning. We are all very pleased with the cuts, and enjoyed chatting with our barber/stylist. Love the old school barber setting and the hometown conversations. We will be return customers. Thanks again.

Local family-owned operated by Mom and her two sons. Very nice people and friendly I've had haircuts from both of the sun's they do a great job! The father and husband Bob was a United States honorable discharge Navy veteran.
This family continues to honor all veterans, as they give veterans a discount on Wednesday. The store is awesome and it's filled with various novelties and military memorabilia.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I had an amazing experience here - Doug has great attention to detail and gave me a beard trim. Not only was it a good cut but the prices are also very affordable and reasonable and Doug was super nice to chat with.

A pleasant old fashioned experience. Bob’s is a small shop with quaint memorabilia and quirky artwork everywhere you look. The sole proprietor stylist is a lovely woman who’s talents include good conversation and a decent haircut. We recommend, but bring cash!

Convinced this is the best barber in town. Wound up here in a time crunch after all surrounding hair cut places are now closed or operate under restricted hours. (Sports clips, great clips, etc)I will now be a lifetime customer. The fact it is cash only is negligible compared to the customer service and amazing job he did with my hair cut and beard trim. Give them a try and I know you will be happy and repeat customer as well.

Desperately needed a haircut this morning , big name stores around the corner were closed until further notice . I walked in about 9:30am and asked about walk ins , and was immediately greeted with smiles and a happy customer just finishing up. I was then greeted by a young gentleman named bob ( assuming the owners son) and was seated. He was friendly , small chat here and there , and was very attentive about how I wanted my hair cut . After all was said and cut , I was very happy with the results and thanked him. Would very much like to thank the entire business and give a five star review , and will be recommending to all of my friends and family .
My only true reason for even visiting was for a haircut I needed for a very important job interview later that day, but I didnt have a regular barber until now…

I never got the young gentleman‘s name, but he did an amazing job. I was in an out in no time. Also gave me a straight razor shave after the haircut. Definitely five star and I would absolutely go back again.

If you show a barber a picture of a haircut you want and they actually take your phone to look closely and zoom in, you know that they actually care and are interested in giving you exactly what you're asking for. This was my experience at this barber shop and the haircut turned out to be just what I was asking for. Also some great conversation!

Had not had my hair cut in 7 years and was so glad my son turn me on to Bob's. This place is "Awesome" the young man that cut my hair could not have been more Professional . He did everything I wanted, to perfection . He was Friendly , Polite and just Good . Sorry I didn't get his name but he will be there when I go back and I will go back . I've been to many Barber Shops in Gainesville throughout my stay here. However, this place beats them all. It's one thing to get some hairs cut; it's another to have a very pleasant experience talking to your barber in an authentic barber shop setting. I felt like I was transported back in time to a traditional barber shop. Doug, keep being you! I thoroughly enjoyed the range of topics we talked about today, and really appreciate the time you took to give me a 5-star haircut. Don't be surprised if you see me again in a few months :)

These folks cut my Dad's hair for the last several years of his life. I am so glad my Mom found them. They were always so kind a patient with my Dad, who suffered from dementia and other ailments. Mom and Dad are both deceased now (2019), but I will never forget how well my Dad was treated there. I come to Gainesville less frequently now, but will try to come by and thank them in person on my next trip. Bob's is an asset to the community.

My husband has never had much luck with barbers at all so we never end up going back to the same place but here we got a warm welcome and such great service and the hair cut to top it off was exactly how we described he wanted it! Ask for Doug you wont regret it! we finally found our forever barber!!

We have been looking everywhere for an old time barber shop for my 78 year old father. He is extremely picky when it to his hair. I took him there today and he says he will never go anywhere else. The people are super friendly and they made us feel comfortable and very welcomed. My father loved the hair cut as well as the atmosphere. We strongly recommend giving them a try!!!!
