Main Street Cafe & Coffee

We go there two to three times a week and get sandwiches and cold or hot coffee. Service is always top notch. So fast and friendly. They have memorized pretty much what we get. Specials are always great and delicious

Excellent breakfast/sandwich/deli and gift store, in a nicely restored bank building (the vault is open and used as a small meeting room!). They have a somewhat short breakfast menu, but staff happily offered to customize. Extensive lunch menu. Very nice upscale atmosphere in the restored building ... it seems to be the start of another small downtown area coming back. Absolutely worth the couple of minutes to jump off Hwy 29 onto 29 Business to stop-over.

Main Street is an amazing cafe! Their food is always fresh and always good! All the girls that run the place are wonderful! Super sweet and very friendly. Anything from Delicious soups to Sandwiches and not to mention all the Baked goods! If you haven’t tried this wonderful place you should definitely stop by. It’s a wonderful experience.

Hands down one of the best Chicken Caesar Salads I have ever had! Warm, friendly service and a clean relaxing atmosphere with plenty of seating. Highly recommended!

The owner and ladies that work here are awesome! Definitely worth a stop and eat if you are looking for some good food in Altavista!

Came in for a wedding for the weekend and sad I only came here once on our short stay. Very cute inside. Looks like it used to be a bank, there's a cool vault door leading to a room (now to eat). There's a little shop with nice items to buy. I had the little Italy sandwich with a coffee and it was delicious! Again, I came in on our last day, before going to the airport, and was disappointed we couldn't try other items on the menu, because they sounded appetizing. Would definitely come back.

Came through town on Monday and stopped in for lunch. Absolutely loved the Cafe! Chicken club was delicious and service was excellent! Will definitely go back and recommend to others!

Stopped here for breakfast, we had a coffee, hot cocoa and croissants. It was good, only place open and serving any type of breakfast food locally.

On our way through town on a vacation trip, we stopped in for breakfast and I'm so glad we did. In addition to having a friendly and efficient staff, they have what I believe may be the best breakfast sandwich I've had in my entire 62-ish years of existence, and I've had more than a few sandwiches in lo, those many years. Crispy on the outside, nothing short of creamy cheesy, meaty, eggy deliciousness on the inside. Yes, I know, it was just a breakfast sandwich, but still, it was in-dang-credible and if you don't try one, well, may God have mercy on your soul. My wife had a peanut butter wrap thingy that she said was great too. I took her word for it. Then of course, we had to try a couple of their cookies. Wow. I needed a cigarette after that and I don't even smoke.

No review is complete without a trip to the restroom and the Main Street Café passed the test. The bathroom was clean, functional and easy to find. (Sadly, it's surprising how many places don't get that right.)

We didn't check it out, but there's also a little shop there with local shoppy things that I'm sure my wife would love, but we were in a hurry to start relaxing, so we boogied on out of there.

Good food, good people. Try it.

My favorite place to eat whenever I’m in Altavista. Food is healthy and fresh and very reasonably priced. The coffee is fantastic. The staff are warm and friendly and the cafe area is a perfect place to ready/study/socialize. Highly recommend if looking for respite from all the heavy stuff.

Great Cafe. Wonderful customer service, pleasant atmosphere, food was delicious and priced right. Portion size is pretty good, its not overkill, but you're getting what you pay for. They have a little gift shop in back where you can buy your baby one of those fancy little ornament bracelets, greeting cards and other ornamental decor. Good place to take your family or wife for lunch. Will definitely be back.

Very nice cafe with delicious sandwiches. The Reuben is fantastic. A friend took me here on my visit to Alta Vista. She works close by and this is her favorite place to lunch. Lots of lighting and seating and a nice little gift shop in the back.

Holy cow what a sandwich, that chicken salad was SO big, so juicy, so yummy, with fruit salad on the side, made my day for this weary traveler!

Quaint Cafe with delicious, melt in your mouth sandwiches and the most warm welcoming staff. This is a must stop!!

Amazing little gem! Our house totally supports local business. But this is an amazing option for healthy choices. Their Reuben is to DIE FOR, as well as the milkshakes. I also love the local handmade items in the gift shop. A MUST for our little town. Staff is very warm & welcoming.
