The Lin Beach House

After my last experience, I can happily say the Lin house feels like a home away from home when I’m on the North Fork… it’s not a typical version of a hotel, no, but a guest house, offering private suites in a beautiful Victorian house, rustic old world charm with modern convenience.
The guest experience is more in the style one might experience when traveling in Europe then in the US. which I personally am completely comfortable with. It’s more then and air Bnb (my room was made up every day) and less intrusive then a hotel.
On my most recent stay we arrived tired after a long drive…. it was late in the evening we were able to quickly & safely access our room without hassle.
The following morning you can walk right into greenport for breakfast… no car hassle of you’re coming out from the city by jitney/train.
This is not the “hotel” for a splashy loud experience and 24 hour services. (I’m personally not a fan of the American beech madness) This is the quiet romantic house with big cozy beds and claw foot tubs, (yes I’ve used them) perfect for a romantic weekend or some solo pampering. I have stayed here both solo and with my boyfriend on 3 occasions now with no incident or complaint. Maybe the Lin house isn’t for everyone, but I’m becoming a regular, hence writing this review which I never do!
There’s no restaurant but occasional cool events hosted by the The Lin owners in collaboration with their nearby distillery… there was also a pop up from a local chef when I was there…
The bar hosted a happy hour on my last visit where I was able sample some of their libations, while we picked up som insider tips from locals and business owners before heading into town for dinner. From what I understand the full time job of the owners actually lies in the world of cocktails, not hotels... and rightly so. The vermouth I left with on my last visit is almost gone!

Beautiful room- we booked "Lillian's Room" - loved the fireplace, tall ceilings and overall natural light. Beautiful aesthetic and thoughtful design throughout our room and entire hotel. We even had a small terrace. Water pressure in shower was better than I have at home and no problem with the hot water. Unique and comfortable bed. Super convenient to village. No TV but honestly it was refreshing to spend real quality time. Will certainly be back. 5 stars.

PS- not sure if bar is open due to covid right now, but we were able to pick up some items at the little general store there. Self check-in/check out-- super cool setup.

Really liked the spacious, airy and bright Lillian Room with a nice big balcony! Cool lobby lounge with a new bar, interesting drinks and a fireplace. There was a DJ there for the night too. Chat up founder Leslie at the bar... so nice! Bottled waters would have been nice because there's no vending machine or stores within walking distance. Note there's no fridge or TV in the room, which I didn't mind. Great location.

I don't know ownership or management personally but I want to congratulate them on this property and business. No doubt it has a gorgeous design. .The building was vacant for many years prior. it's the perfect place to bring clients or close friends for drinks and discrete ambiance.. The lady managing the the bar was just lovely. Lin Beach house adds so much to Greenport scene. I admit I'm biased I'm from the area but still had to write my thoughts here and recommend Lin Beach house to anyone. Discrete gorgeous and not overpriced rooms the perfect weekend escape for a discerning clientele and not only. Congrats again to ownership management and staff they def contribute to raising the NOFO G Port profile

I stay here every time I’m on the north fork. LOVE it here. So chill and relaxed, beds are insanely comfy, and the crew that runs it is super helpful and responsive. Also great wine and cocktails at the bar downstairs. Could hang for ages.

The Lin is a total gem in the quiet but beautiful town of Greenport - perfect for a quick getaway from the city. Rooms are massive and the bar is fantastic, was the perfect location to come back to after dinner/drinks at Brix & Rye. Can confirm that Natty Fridays (Natural wine Fridays) are a vibe.

Little Creek Oyster farm and Bruce & Son other great spots in town to grab a bite.

perfect place for me and my wife to stay for a long weekend in greenport - the rooms are really cool and new and the bar downstairs has awesome cocktails. Short walk into Newport and close to vineyards - only downside was the lack of breakfast on site... Rooms were nice and spacious

hi I want to make a reservation for this august 2020 but I’m not sure what are your COVID 19 rules and measurements
Also if the hotel is open to the public for take vocational reservations.

Engaging bartender. Relaxed and comfortable. Not your typical bar. Let the bartender create a drink for you, makes for a unique experience.
