The Menhaden

We had a perfect girls' trip at the Menhaden. The entire staff was so helpful from the beginning. We communicated for weeks prior to plan our wineries and dinners, providing excellent suggestions. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, appealing, and well stocked with everything! We especially appreciated the small kitchens on every floor with fun food and snacks, waters, drinks, coffee, etc. It was such a nice touch. Rooms were spacious and well appointed and so clean! The bar downstairs was an excellent way to start our evenings. The hotel shop is more of a beautiful boutique. Parking was easy and simple with a lot available when you pull in. Highly recommend!

Great hotel, fantastic location and staff! The room was modern and comfortable with quality bedding and towels. Very clean, which I loved. The only thing I could say about the room is that it would’ve been nice if there was an ice bucket and an iron/steamer right in the room, but if you asked at the front desk, they got you anything you needed. The location is super close to the harbor and many great restaurants. Felicia was at the front desk for our stay and she was amazing! Anything we needed she was quick to respond too and even anticipated many of our needs ahead of time. Great hospitality!

The Menhaden was such a great hotel. Great location- right in the center of town. Great service, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Each floor receives complimentary (and delicious) snacks and treats throughout the day. The rooms were nice and very clean. The complimentary bike rentals offered such a nice opportunity to bike around town. There’s also a town store on the first floor if you ever need anything throughout the trip, along with specialty coffees. Overall great experience and can’t wait to come back here!

Had the loveliest stay at The Menhaden. The staff was wonderful, the room was amazing and the perfect size. They have a great rooftop for drinks or to relax. Perfect location to walk to restaurants and stores.

I thought the hotel was absolutely perfect. Beautifully designed loved the little kitchenette on every floor service was extremely personable. Great location plenty of parking. Could not have been happier with my stay. I will definitely be back. Thank you for everything GARY JULIAN.

Perfect home away from home for our family. We have two toddlers and the staff were so accommodating. Beautiful rooftop. Galleys with breakfast and treats were a nice treat. We look forward to coming back!

The front desk staff was amazing ! Informative before we arrived & during our stay. Great attention to details in this hotel. The only thing missing was a rooftop hot tub !

The Menhaden is more than a hotel, it is an experience! It’s a home away from home — the staff thinks of everything, kept it immaculately clean and the snack galleys stocked. The bikes were awesome to cruise around town and the location is perfect for soaking up all that Greenport offers.

Mario and his team at The Menhaden are top notch. This was our second stay at The Menhaden and we have already started planning our return. The Galley areas on each floor are fully stocked with all you may need or want while relaxing on vacation. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to fresh baked croissants or grab a homemade chocolate chip cookie after dinner? And if you need anything else, the General Store has you covered. Upon our return from dinner, Felicia mixed us up a specialty cocktail and we enjoyed closing the night out in the private guest lounge. If you’re contemplating a trip to the North Fork, the Menhaden should be your first choice for accommodations. Tell ‘em Nino sent you!

10/10 highly recommend the Menhaden! My husband and I spent the weekend in Greenport for his birthday, and we wanted a luxury hotel, in the heart of town, that was pet friendly. The Menhaden was the perfect fit! The staff is wonderful, professional, and beyond accommodating! They provide a tour upon arrival, answer your text messages promptly when you have questions, and are happy to provide any assistance or recommendations you may need. The hotel provides delicious amenities in the galleys, which are complementary. It was absolutely one of the best homemade cookies and croissants I’ve ever eaten! On top of all of that it’s so nice to find such a beautiful, luxurious hotel that is truly pet friendly. My husband and I will absolutely be back!

We loved everything about our stay - the staff is unbelievably courteous, helpful and friendly, from the GM Mario who is hands on with an effortless 5-star service mentality all the way down. Every detail of the hotel is thoughtful and elevated in a warm and inviting way - the place is unbelievably charming and welcoming. From the lobby, bar, galleys, room, and rooftop deck - even the stairwell with plush deep blue carpet and skylight is a nice touch that didn’t go unnoticed. Being right in the heart of town, but an easy walk to the dock, was fantastic as Greenport has really grown into its own with nice shops and great restaurants. We can’t wait to return next year!

Such a gem! I stayed here during the week and had the best stay. The staff is so nice, the location is great and the hotel itself is so clean and well maintained. This might have been the best hotel experience I have ever had. I did not want to leave so ended up extending my stay. The hotel is in the perfect location and the roof is so relaxing to have a coffee or drink on. The galley is stocked with amazing treats and so convenient as well as the little shop with amazing coffee. I loved biking to the beach and to the wineries. I would not think twice and book this place, you will not be disappointed.

I was almost reluctant to write this review for fear that this hidden gem will explode. From the moment I called to book the reservation, Mario made me feel like family. He accommodated a last minute reservation and helped us get situated with the dogs. His willingness to make it work is rare these days and quite refreshing. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted with cold champagne and given a tour of the absolutely stunning hotel. Every detail is completely meticulous. The decor is straight out of a magazine. The best part however might be the chocolate chip cookies baked fresh daily. We were lucky enough to have 50 degree weather in January and we took our iced coffees to the spectacular rooftop. We can’t wait to go back with a bottle of champagne. Highly recommend the hotel if you are looking for a Greenport getaway.

The hotel is charming and extremely clean which I appreciate. The customer service is amazing, I was greeted each time I ran into staff at the hotel. The room is spacious with a beautiful and calming atmosphere. They are dog friendly which is a major plus! They offer lots of yummy complimentary snacks like fresh orange juice, Starbucks coffee, ice cream bars and fresh breakfast pastries. It's located right in the middle of town with a convenient walking distance to all restaurants and shops. They also have bikes ready to rent for a ride along town. If you're in Greenport this is a great place to stay!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The hotel itself was spotless and beautiful - the entire room was immaculate and the beds were so comfy. Each floor has a galley which is fully stocked with complimentary Fiji water, soda, tea, coffee and snacks. The roof is a perfect spot to hangout and drink a glass of wine and the fire pits were awesome on a chilly September night. The hotel also has a great little texting system where you can text them anything you need/want and they bring it to you SO quickly.

Which leads me to the absolute best part about this hotel - the staff. The staff is beyond friendly and incredibly attentive. Our trip would not have been the same without Jake and his top notch service and awesome recommendations - he truly made the experience. Jade and Alexis were also awesome! Just all around a 5+ star experience - I cannot recommend this place enough!

Amazing stay that out did my expectations!! The rooms are kept clean, the complementary refreshments in the galley always stocked. The small number of rooms made it so the staff was there for any of our needs. We looked to Get a reservation at the restaurant Port Waterfront which was booked, the manager called up and got us a 7:30pm dinner, it’s great staying at a place that has connections and is willing to book everything in Advance at a moments notice. I recommend the s’mores kit if you’re going to the roof top at night! And blankets can be found for chilly nights.

Couldn’t ask for a better stay. Amazing hospitality. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever encountered.

My husband and I normally visit Greenport every summer, but this was our first time staying at this hotel...and it certainly won't be the last! Even with all of the COVID chaos going on, this hotel could not have been any cleaner, safer or more accommodating. Everything is kept spotless with sanitizer and wipes whenever you need. All members of the staff are so kind and tend to any and all of your needs. They set up a wonderful vineyard tour for us with an amazing driver (Brian). The hotel is in the perfect location, with steps to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops! They even have bikes you can rent to go explore which is so cute. Also, in regards to the bed comfort level--10! The bed, pillows, bathtub....everything was just wonderful! Oh and who doesn't love to have a mini kitchen on the floor filled with all the complimentary beverages and snacks you could want. We will certainly be staying here from now on. Looking forward to returning very soon!

I LOVED staying at this hotel. It is the perfect place to visit from the city and only steps away from the LIRR.

The staff was so kind and accommodating. They helped us with a ride to a local restaurant that was a little out of the way (Porto Bello- highly recommend! Amazing to have dinner while watching the sunset) and got us a pick up as well. They also helped us book a car to and from a local vineyard.

The room we stayed in was super cozy and quiet. The bathroom was spacious and had a makeup mirror and Grown Alchemist bath products- which IYKYK!

The Galley is such an amazing feature. It was super hot the weekend I stayed so grabbing a box water on my way out into the heat was key. Having access to snacks, sparking water, and the occasional Diet Coke was awesome!

Lastly, the roof has shady spots during the day and warm fire pits at night. A nice quote spot for some extra outdoor time. Will definitely be returning next summer!
