Lui Lui Restaurant

My husband and I ate here with a friend last night. It was our first time at this restaurant but I hope not the last. It's definitely on the high of the $ scale but the food was absolutely delish! FYI before tip it was $121 for three people but, to be fair, there were 2 appetizers, 3 glasses of wine and 3 desserts in this as well. Since it was our first time there we wanted to experience it all. My husband had the special, roast duck, and he loved it! I had salmon and our friend had shrimp fettuccine. The coffee we had with dessert was amazing! Turns out it's a local brand, Ridge Runner, I believe. They use many locally sourced foods, including Snowville Creamery, as well as sustainably raised Salmon among other things.

We stopped here on our way back to Columbus from NC. It's a bit off the interstate/highway path but well worth the diversion. The restaurant is cozy and has beautiful decorations. The atmosphere is appropriate for anything from a family meal to date night. Our server was attentive and friendly, but didn't hover. Our meal arrived quickly and was fresh and hot. There were plenty of vegetarian options, and everything was super tasty. The spring rolls were clearly made in house and were excellently seasoned. The edamame was awesome. My tofu in a spicy garlic sauce was delicious. The tofu was just a little crispy on the outside. Perfect! The vegetable delight was also apparently pretty yummy. The prices are reasonable and pretty average. The value for your money is good. We highly recommend Lui Lui's!

Great quality great staff outstanding food exquisite have nothing bad to say about this place is 100% fantastic. And most of all very clean eating by this i mean vegan foods, cows with no add hormones, free range chickens, etc well worth the prices.

Brought my wife to Lui Lui for her b day last night. We had a wonderful evening. All staff are friendly. We received a complimentary cake in the end. The lamb rack is superb!

Went to school here for 4 years and never knew about this gem. It is a little higher priced place to eat, more fitting for a date night perhaps. The shrimp tortellini was great, but it was a small serving. We ordered from the lunch menu so it was cheaper, but I'm not sure if I would have paid full price ($14 I believe) for what I got. You do receive bread and butter with your meal, however.

Definitely a hidden staple in Athens Ohio. Good selection. They will adjust the meals to your pallet or taste. Very nice. Still working through the menu and haven't found anything I didn't like. So far the two favorites is the lamb chops or the chicken meatballs. And I usually bring a pizza home for later.

Lui Lui always has excellent service, yummy food, and a wide selection of wine. It's an excellent location for a date night in Athens, that is a short walk or drive from Court Street. Sushi nights are always yummy, as they have a wide selection of fresh sushi and many vegetarian options. Dessert is the best part! There are lots of options and they are always delicious.

Lui lui's is one of my favorite restaurants. There isn't anything that I've tried that I haven't enjoyed. The sushi on Tuesdays and Thursdays is great. The that chicken pasta is delightful, and I absolutely adore the crab cake salad. Do yourself a favor and take the time to sit, eat, and enjoy the quiet atmosphere.

A great place to share a delicious meal with friends. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options, along with nice fish, meat and sushi. There is a CHIP approved vegan menu as well! Great service with welcoming smiles! This is my go to place for a quiet lunch or dinner for with friends or colleagues. Their CHIP vegan menu has a lot variety of options. Excellent tea selection as well as a variety of wines and beers. The sushi is fresh and delicious. Tuesday is sushi day when a larger sushi menu is available. Carrot ginger soup is awesome!

Excellent friendly service. Edamame for appetizer. Mains was shrimp tortellini; and lamb chops & lamb chops in a slightly spicy tomato sauce servers with mashed potatoes & sauted mixed vegetables. Everything was outstanding, except the free bread was bland. Desserts looked delicious, we got them to go.

I've enjoyed eating at Lui Lui for almost 20 years! It has been a staple in Athens and was always the go-to place with my family and friends. I'm very sad to hear that you are closing, so I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the wonderful memories!!! Been going here for probably 8 years. The food has always been great, best place in athens for a good price. Jade isn't the owner anymore but the new owners have been there for years before and do an excellent job. Love the herb butter. Some of the best items they have are the lamb, Mediterranean chicken salad, roasted red pepper and the carrot ginger soup. BUT everything is good here. Wine menu prices are great too.

Food allergies! Eating out can be a challenge when you have allergies. Lui lui makes the experience an enjoyable one. They are very careful to prepare your food safely and there are many menu options available for people with all sorts of dietary restrictions and many of the ingredients are locally sourced. The restaurant is a beautiful fusion of casual and upscale. I come here when I want a good meal and a relaxing cup of tea. It is nice to have a safe place to eat that doesn't break the bank! Added fun: on Tuesdays they feature a special sushi menu!

Very good oriental fusion restaurant. In the interest of fairness I should say my brother works here. I had some very good Chicken Pad Thai, loaded with veggies and chicken. We also had the General So's Chicken, very crispy with nice big chunks of chicken. My brother had lasagna, yes we are related.

The atmosphere was very nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive. And to top it all off, the food was diverse and FANTASTIC. Chinese, pasta, sushi, steak, you name it. A very nice place for a date, dinner meetup, parents in town, or just to get quality food. Highly recommend.

They have cake that taste better than a coat fresh out of the dryer on a winter morning.

Waitress was very attentive and very accommodating. Had a good time. The food was good, too. Had not one but two sampler plates. Can't wait to go back next time.

If you like Americanized Chinese, this is absolutely a good one.

Lui Lui is a very classy restaurant. It caters to a wide palette and has food ranging from sushi to pasta. I really enjoy eating here. The staff is also friendly and nice.

Despite an eclectic menu theme, Lui Lui caters quick, quality offerings in a setting unusually out of the way and quiet, for Athens. Good vegetarian options. Established quality.
