A fantastic Ice Cream and Donut shop somewhere in the middle of nowhere Ohio. So Ohio.

Really friendly and helpful staff, super nice.

They have lots of flavors, toppings, donuts, and treats. Everything we had was really good and very reasonably priced.

Highly recommended.

Best place in town to get ice cream. Double scoop of bear claw is the best, please don't ever get rid of it. It's one of the last true guilty plaeasures I have left in life, please don't ever take that from me 😆
Been bringing my kids here since it was located down by the railroad tracks. My daughter famously named it monkey ice cream, so that's what it's known as in our family. If you've been here, you understand the reference. But the kids usually do either superman or play dough ice cream. Pretty big favorite amongst the youth. Also hard to turn down a dozen doughnuts to go for the next morning.

Very fast and friendly service! They had all the classic flavors and new flavor combinations I've never heard of. I tried Emerald Lace (Mint with oreo chunks throughout) and my wife had Toffee caramel crunch. Both were delicious! Comfortable family centered atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor has air conditioning which was nice since it was rather warm out. Restroom was super clean. They even have a drive thru in case you dont have the time to stop in and sit. Prices were definitely reasonable. Not cheap bur certainly not over priced. Mid range cost. I would definitely return if I'm ever back in the area.

This place was worth the visit. Haven't been back for almost 10 years, and the sweets were worth every bite. From the ice cream to the donuts, no matter what you pick, it will be delicious. Definitely will be coming back when I visit again.

Ice cream choices are amazing, but they had the largest, fresh donuts that were very reasonably priced!!

Normally pretty groovy! Bough a half dozen vanilla cream chocolate iced donuts. There is no cream inside today!:(….. There is a hole were someone tried to inject cream, but no cream. We are eating them anyway!

I've never been inside this place. But I've had their donuts. These donuts are amazing!!!

Got a dozen of donuts there this morning they were pretty good I prefer it over the other places in Lancaster

Great place for ice cream. We passed DQ and Sonic on the way there.

We were down in Lancaster for the day and a local recommended this place for ice cream. As soon as we got out of the car, we could smell the donuts. They looked as delicious as they smelled. Will definitely try them next time. The ice cream was excellent. I had the Bear Claw (dark chocolate ice cream with caramel swirl and cashews) in a waffle bowl. The girl that was working was super sweet. She saw my daughter dropped her cone and immediately offered a replacement. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town.

I’m so glad Gypsy Joe’s made some changes in customer service because they are back to being my #1 ice cream place in Lancaster.

None of the issues that I had been experiencing are still present. We’ve had special order donuts and friendly service throughout the past year. Best ice cream in town, hands down!!

I love Gypsy Joe’s and I wanted to be able to leave a 5 star review, but the employees make this place the pits!

The donuts are yummy but the teenage girls serving them make me want to never come back. The owner will always take a cinnamon fry to the back and put maple icing on it for me. The teenager girls always tell me “we don’t do that.”

I tried to place a special order for a specific type of donut we LOVE for my birthday. The same teenage girls told me “we don’t want to make those.”

Despite how good the donuts are, I’ll take my business elsewhere if this continues.

I had a dark chocolate ice cream with chocolate covered cashews, which completely took my mind off a very tough day! Great selections of many unique flavors. This special treat was one I will look forward to next time I get some bad news. My son loved the decor with the gorilla lifeguard and a spinning disco ball. This reminded me of my own childhood, when we would visit our local Dairy Queen with similar picnic tables in an open barn looking seating area. One can buy a gollon or pint of really good ice cream, which is more economical, but the atmosphere really adds to the fun times experience. Thanks Gypsy Joes, for taking my mind off our new "normal."

Let me tell you something last night was the first night in a very long time since Joe's ice cream shop has moved from the river tracks on Fair Avenue to its current location that was the last time I had their ice cream. And then it was awesome well usually got the pumpkin ice cream but I didn't want it last night was it in the mood old lady she got banana pudding ice cream. Let me tell you about that banana pudding ice cream that's all I got to say if you're looking for a good treat something cool something good and something sweet try this ice cream shop out if you're in or around Lancaster Ohio they know their stuff. Next time I go I'm going to definitely get me 1. And I'm definitely going to try their donuts apple fritter next time I heard they're so so but the best donut shop in town is the donut shop so let's see if these Donuts out does the donut shop come try the ice cream shop is really good

Gypsy Joe's is a staple of Lancaster, right on pqr with Donut World and Cherry Street, among several others, but you do need to be aware of some things before you consider your trip there.

Firstly, this is a local shop and the lines can't take a few minutes. At peak times, Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the summer, be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes.

Also, they have a plethora of flavors, but if you are going to call Dairy Queen and Kroger brand ice cream good, this may not hit your fancy. Their ice cream and donuts are delicious, but different.

Lastly, the staff is always friendly and courteous. If they are out at a fair or at home in the shop, the level of professionalism never changes.

My wife and 3 kids make a point to go once every Sunday that I am home. The ice cream here is a family treat that we all enjoy.
