My family has been coming here since I was an infant, I’m now almost 30. This is a great family camp ground. They’ve got public showers, restrooms, the main park, a lake for swimming, a separate lake for fishing and boat rides, a doggy park, hay rides, haunted houses (Halloween) and so many more fun activities for kids to do. The prices have gone up significantly over the years, but that’s the new normal. Also we used to go every year for Halloween and we no longer do because the park has made it significantly more difficult to make large reservations for large groups around that time of year.

Very beautiful place to camp at, other then them removing the lake water do to drownings, which I could recommend for kids to be kids and have fun without incidents with water. The site is very well maintained. There's plenty of parking, there is plenty to do from playing golf, basketball, volleyball or etc. I would recommend this campground to any family or person who would like to enjoy there stay with pleasant & friendly people.

Always a great time at the KOA, it was Halloween weekends and the campground was all decorated fun and spooky. There was a small haunted house and activities to keep the kids busy.

We have gone camping every year at this KOA for nearly 3 decades. They've really done a nice job in making this a true vacation spot! The playground was redone several years ago and it's very nice and safe. The swimming lake is up kept, just don't be stupid and try to cross through the middle if you're not a great swimmer. The bike and boat rentals are always a MUST. They've recently redone the laundry room as well.

We love:
Bike rentals
Boat rentals
Arcade room
Putt putt
Newly added Corn Hole and Gaga Ball
Giant chess
Kids playground
Fishing lake
And clean tenting areas

I had to come here & leave a review. We stayed here for our 2nd year in a row. Has some issues but the staff here went above & beyond to make it right. These days you simply do not see that kind of care. You can tell management loves this koa. We had an absolute blast. Thank you so much! We can't wait for next time.

My Family and I have camped at The Monroe KOA for years.
Since the beach was closed we were forced to try a different KOA. This one is Detroit/Ann Arbor.
This is the most rude staff. Managers as well. The deluxe cabin My daughter and I rented was dirty, dishes were but up on shelves with water between each plate cups were nasty and silverware. Rooms were dirty and our grill was so dirty it caught on fire.
Please figure out someway to open things back up. We miss you

Even though the swimming pond was closed there was so much other stuff to do. I took my little brother and sister and we had a blast, the staff were great! The grounds were clean! The water in the showers were a little hot for the kids but I enjoyed it.

My family and i thought my site was nice, wish there was a bit more grass to it and less sand, but we love it! A bit aggravated with people walking through my site constantly that didn't ask, I'll just say they lacked campsite etiquette! Consider putting in a water spout in the dog park for the furr babies. But it brings us joy that you thought of our four legged family members!

Excellent camp ground. We stayed on site 162A which was perfect for my fishing loving boy! We were right across from fishing pond. It felt like we were camping right on the water. We were a short walk to anything else that we wanted to do. The water slide was a blast the swimming lake was perfect and not over crowded. The staff was amazing and all of the activities were fun! 10/10 highly recommended!

Been camping here for 14 years and my family always had a great time but sadly won’t be camping here anymore during the summer due to swimming pond being closed. Never had an issue with the pond but we always kept an eye on our kids. Can’t drain all the lakes due to irresponsible people.

We had a great time and loved having the place nearly to ourselves, even if it was a bit quiet on activities in the off season.

People have been talking about shutting down this KOA, saying how "dangerous" it is. I have lived up here for over seventeen years and heard about three, maybe four incidents? Most of which, could have been avoided if people kept an eye on their family/friends and took the time to read the rules! There are signs everywhere!!! It has nothing to do with KOA and everything to do with lazy and inept people. How many hundreds (if not thousands) of people who come here every year and leave with nothing more than great memories?! It's disgusting that people are blaming KOA instead of the people who are truly responsible! I guess it's easier to blame KOA than it is to admit your own failure? As a parent or guardian, "you" are responsible for you and the people you bring up here, not KOA.

Very nice campground! They have a ton for kids and adults to do. We went during one of their Halloween weekends and it was really cool. People go all out decorating their sites. The staff was very nice and super helpful. We have already booked our next campsite in a couple of weeks! Only downfall is that KOA makes you pay an additional fee to know what site you will be on and you don't find out until you show up.

Thought this was an excellent campground for the money.
Was tidy, clean, and well staffed. Sites were close together, but still felt we had privacy, all very close to the beach and bathrooms. Park has a waterslide that was very fun to go down, clean beach and lots of other fun activities. Store was well stocked with essentials and reasonably priced. Firewood bundles are small, but priced accordingly, so buy double what you think you might need. There is a small beautiful town nearby to pick up essentials. They give out free pancakes on weekends which was very cool (however the lady did question my wife if our 2 year old was really gonna eat them). Ohio border is real close.

All in all, a great campground! You can tell when staff take pride in their work, and this is evident here!! Will return for sure!

We rented a Deluxe Cabin for the weekend to relax and unplug from daily life. It was so relaxing and completely did the trick! We even thought about staying an extra day since we liked it so much. Even with the campground full and all the campers, children, and pets there it still was very relaxing. Just being in a different environment helps tremendously. And all the staff was great too!

Love the place, been coming twice a year for 5 years, one just to camp and use the slide and swim and another for Halloween, unfortunately the closing of the lake will probably have me look elsewhere and just show up for Halloween.

This was my 2nd year attending Halloweekends with my son and my Grandpa! It was a total blast. The events seem to just keep improving and the rain even held off for all of the activities. I also really appreciate the variety of items at the camp store. We can't wait for next year!
