A diamond in the rough. This spot is a very-well price, warm, and quick spot for a sit down breakfast or lunch. Everyone was very polite, respectful, and friendly, overall great service and amazing food. The pancakes were soft and sweet & the bacon crispy! Overall a 9.7/10. Only thing that could be helped is the walking space and the way the table are arranged other than that a true diamond in the rough.

We really enjoyed this cafe. Had the dawn breakfast sandwich and the simple breakfast, along with brewed coffee and a mocha latte. Service was friendly, it was bright and clean. Nice little place, good place to visit.

Can I say amazing! The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing! We walked in and ended up talking and playing chess that was on the large table. We felt welcomed and were told about the specials. We grabbed coffee and ended up getting the Shrimp and Grits, which were both amazing. Definitely coming back!

12/10 on vibes, food, coffee, and service!!! Tori was amazing. Love this place and can’t wait to come back! Pictured is a miel w/ oat milk (prob one of the best I’ve ever had), and a build your own sandwich with turkey sausage.

First of all, this restaurant is under new management emerging from the pandemic, so reviews before that are probably only accurate in the description of the building atmosphere.

Our old favorites are gone and replaced with some very good new choices. Coffee remains a light roast that is delicious and served as already brewed or pour-over.

We had a mushroom omelette and a fried green tomato and egg on a bun. Both were outstanding and quite a value for the kind of ingredients that were in them. There are also several funky homemade jams available for toast.

There are two tables to eat-in and food is served in to-go clothing, so it's obvious it's still geared toward takeout. The flip side is if you get one of those two tables, you'll feel like you have the place to yourself!

Enjoyed the ambience, food and service. Looking forward to coming back to try the build your own breakfast sandwich and hash bowls.

Food is great, ambience is fabulous, and the service is impeccable. There's a woman who is always working there (probably a manager) and she is always so sweet and wonderful. Love this place

I went in today for the first time in a while and wow it was good! Best latte I've had for a bit, and the hazelnut flavor was not too sweet. The hash was a perfect lunch and had plenty of fresh veggies to add to it so was definitely a good vegetarian option. The atmosphere is friendly, full of plants, and has locally made goods like jewelry and candles. I will be back!!

Finally got around to trying this place out and so happy that I did!! From the food, coffee, service and atmosphere- it is a wonderful spot. The ladies who took our order were lovely, and they sell local goods (candles etc) in the store, which I love! We will be back :)

Had the sandwich and it was incredible. I was expecting a sad, thin, and dried out piece of turkey sausage but it was thick, crusty on the outside and moist on the inside. It was perfectly seasoned and tasty as well. I learned from one of the staff that they season and patty it in house. Awesome service and strong and delicious coffee! Will be back!

I love this local shop, and it's mission. My latte was amazing and the costumer service was incredible! One of my favorite coffee shops in town!

Tops. Probably best coffee shop in town. A full breakfast kitchen, espresso drinks, modern, beautiful design, outdoor seating... the full picture.

Had a great time here! Everyone loved their coffees and I loved my Strawberry Steamer (I basically chugged it). Other customers were ordering breakfast foods and all seemed to enjoy it!

The manager was so sweet and helpful. There are a good amount of table and counter spaces even though it’s a small room.

2nd day in a row going back to Rising Grinds Cafe and I think I’m hooked for good!! Smoothies are absolutely refreshing and the Hall St Hash is one of my favorite meals for breakfast! To top it off: it’s black owned with exceptional staff members and pleasant owner! Hate that I’m just now finding this place after being here for a full year but this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for brunch or just for a relaxing coffee shop experience!

I do like that a respectable small cafe has shown up in this area! There are so many poorly run small businesses in this area, but this seems to be an exception. Friendly staff, decent patrons. I've only had a mocha and latte here so far. They seem to have an okay food selection and they make it right in front of you which I really like, however, my only gripe is that the Latte I got for my wife and the mocha I received seemed a tad overpriced for the size. That being said they were very well made and tasted wonderful. I will definitely be coming back to this place. It's nice to see proper businesses being operated in this area once again. To the business owner, thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food and coffee are great and keep me coming back but the true magic is the employees. It is such an amazing community atmosphere filled with so much warmth, you can tell they really love and care about their neighborhood. I need to give a special shoutout to Lisa who ALWAYS remembers me even if it’s been 6 months since I’ve been in. She is so good at what she does and always creates such special moments. Stop in and see for yourself!
