Mr. Wahoo's Eatery

I just moved into the area recently and decided to give Mr. Wahoo's Eatery a try, going for the bacon cheeseburger, diet coke and tapioca pudding. It was cooked to perfection, and the patty was much bigger than I was expecting. There was no drip or sogginess either, the burger was clean and crisp, just the way I like it. I didn't have my hopes up after trying another local establishment, but the cooks at Mr. Wahoo's Eatery nailed it, at least on the things I like.

As far as flavor, it is about as basic as you can get, but the value is incredible. I don't know how they do it. I hope to give them a lot of business in the future. I am seeing this place as one of my top go-to's for sure here in Dowagiac.

If there is one thing I would wish for is if they could put less butter in the eggs (scrambled), I have to dump a ton of pepper on them just to handle eating them. It just feels weird that for a place that generally just has basic flavor, the eggs are overloaded with butter to the point where it's difficult to consume.

The food was good, but the service was awesome. The only issue I had was that the booths were tiny. (Not much space between you and the table when you sit down)

Epitome of a true diner. Decades of hungry people have left here completely satisfied. Not fancy but a little gritty, and that's the way we like it. Wonderful staff, y ellas habla Espanol. The food is American breakfast history in the present. Great omelettes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, just get 'er done food. Love it.

Best experience I have had at a restaurant in a long time. I came from out of town and was just visiting someone and we decided to eat here cuz she suggested it like I said best food I have ever had. I do highly recommend this place if you get up where they are located

Local favorite!! A must stop everytime I come to town. Great food, great prices, and great service.

You gotta try the "hillbilly". It's biscuits and gravy, hash browns (smothered) with two eggs over easy on top. I highly recommend!!!

When I visited Mr Wahoo's, I knew a customer who was invited me.
The waitresses were very friendly
and and cheerful. The worked for their tips.

Old school diner with Hispanic flair. Breakfast all day. Sausage gravy is spices with peppers that hit late in taste profile. Quick, friendly service. Tucked way back off the road. Will return.

Great selection and value. Fast friendly service. Extreamly large portions of fresh, top quality "homestyle" meals. Highly recommended!!

This is a very friendly restaurant. Me and a couple of my church members visited there fir lunch. That creamy rice soup was to die for. OMG it was very tasty and seasoned very good. Our waiter was very nice and she laughed and talked with us and she kept coming back to check to see if everything was ok, and if we needed anything like refills. It reminds me of one of those old country restaurants, but with nice customer service. The whole Neal was outstanding 💯

I have the greatest memory of a place like Mr Wahoo's when I was just 7 years old where my folks woke me up early and asked me if I wanted to go get pancakes and then they handed me $2 and sent me to a place that was right across the campsite and I went there and that man looked just like the owner of Mr Wahoo's and he served me pancakes and a glass of milk that is so memorable.
I remember the warmth and happiness and joy I felt as I ate more pancakes than I could hold.
After 62 trips around the Sun I have come to realize that my parents had wanted to be alone and I was shuffled off safely so that could happen.
In youth we learn but with age we understand. This is a favorite quotation of mine and I think of it often as I always will, sitting at Mr Wahoo's eating my one pancake and enjoying that outstanding white pepper gravy sausage and biscuits.
Only two places in my lifetime have served me white pepper (in my food) and that was my mother and Mr Wahoo's.
For me, it is like the critic eating Ratatouille in the movie of the same name.
I am taken back to a place of my youth, and it is the greatest memory.

Our family of four are here and ordered the seafood. It was fast and delicious. The portion sizes were very generous and the fish cooked well. Dinner included meat, veg, potato, and dessert for under $10 and the table almost didn't handle the plates.

The server was attentive without being overbearing and was kind and genuine. We don't live in the area, but will be back here next time we drive by.

Great place friendly staff for a fantastic price

Awesome older restaurant. Don't expect any glitz or glamor, just basic service and food. I've been going there all my life as have my parents and grandparents.

This is my favorite resterant. I try to go hear weekly. The food is always great and awesome prices for what you get. The waitresses are always nice and the owner is very nice also. He gives my kids candy at times. Love this place

Color me impressed! A few things were a little bit and miss, but that happens anywhere. I got fried chicken, and I know the hot spots around the area - stiff competition. It's actually better than Cameron's and that's their claim to fame! Hot, juicy, perfect seasoning, thin breading, and not those huge mutant nuclear chemical fed birds people all are used to. Kind of reminds of getting chicken at the Mexican market (do yourself a favor - shop Mexican. The quality of the products is amazing, and the meats are the most perfect cuts either than getting it from the farm!). Great meal, prices were fine, our waitress was a calf catcher. All in all, too much fun. And come on, it's called Wahoo's. Awesome.

I read other reviews for this place and i disagree with the negative ones!! For reasonable priced meals with big portions, this is the place to go!! The food was good and our waitress was great. Busy place means a popular place and it was busy. I will eat here again
