The Inn is very impressive! Clean and comfortable with a step back in time vibe! Staff was attentive and caring without being intrusive. Breakfasts as well as the Sunday Brunch were excellent and a great value. As an added bonus, the view of the bay is spectacular! I would highly recommend this Inn as a must stay during a trip to northern Michigan.

Love this place. The staff is soooo friendly and helpful. I am sad to hear that new owners are taking over. I just hope they keep the same staff that is working there now. Red Hats go every year the first weekend of November. Not sure if the new owners will cater to us as in the past.
Beautiful, clean and good location.

We love to stay here, especially in the off season. The staff is attentive and friendly, the building has a classy and casual vibe. Their website often offers weekend packages that include a wonderful breakfast.

I don't normally have much loyalty for hotels but this place really impressed me! The staff was super friendly, and there were cookies waiting for us in our room. Breakfast is included and it's honestly the best breakfast we've had at a hotel. There are chairs in the lawn to enjoy the sun and view of the lake. Also you can borrow bikes for nearby trails. Great value for money, would go back.

I wish I could give an extra star, this was THE NICEST location for our girl friend weekend! EVERY one of the rooms we had were so beautiful. The sunroom and library were such fun places to gather and so nicely appointed. The staff was amazing, very attentive and accommodating! Bobby Joe was so kind, too, and funny! Very clean, something to look at in every nook and cranny, and around every corner. If you are looking for a unique, historic, and beautiful location, look no further!

We spent New Year's Eve and a night further here. It was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable. The two person tub fit both of us (facing each other, not side by side). We enjoyed the fireplace and the period furniture was comfortable.

There was a real charm to the place. Stepping back and away from technology was nice.

The staff was accommodating and very friendly. They were there for any need we had.

And the included breakfast was amazing! We had egg's Benedict and corned beef hash. Both were excellent. There was a vegan option which is nice to see on a limited menu.

Highly recommended.

Words seem inadequate to express how delighted we were with our stay. The location, staff, furnishings, cleanliness and service set a gold standard. The Stafford Bay View Inn was a pinnacle on our golden anniversary road trip. Corey, the on-site manager, wore many hats, and still took time to greet us and answer questions. Jenna, our breakfast server, was delightful and attentive, despite coming off the Mother’s Day Brunch rush. Receptionists Mallory and BobbieJo offered a friendly welcome, with information about the many opportunities offered by the Inn and local areas of interest. The Bay View is a wonderful combination of history and luxury. The lake views and shore access added to our delight. We recommend this venue to anyone who wants sterling service in a historic and well appointed inn.

Bobby Joe is the reason we kept coming back. She was so nice to our three kids (and us). Everyone was so hospitable and kind. Cleaning crew went above and beyond and left us extra cookies.
Only downside and I know it’s because they wanna keep to the beauty was no TVs in the rooms. Oh well not a big deal, we enjoyed our few stays here. Breakfast also wonderful the gentlemen (waiter) we had some great conversations!

I cannot say enough good things about this Inn. Cory helped me organize a stay for my girlfriends in March and was kind, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room each morning was exceptional. Can’t wait to return.

Where do I begin? Wow! This is a 3 star hotel that TRULY delivers 4 star hotel service and customer service.

I stayed here for a business trip. New to the area and drove by this charming and historic well kept gem several times. Warmly greeted and checked in by Bobbie Jo. She’s personable and funny! She makes you feel right at home and is at your service if you need anything or have questions. Christina is so sweet and accommodating in any way she can be. Since it is slower in the colder months they have a few breakfast dinner dining options. I chose the early breakfast one day—prompt and hot and fresh! The other day chose their partner Stafford Perry Hotel. The front desk immediately greeted me by my name there and the restaurant new I was a guest from Bayview Inn.

Food was perfect and to me priced appropriately. Charming, absolutely charming dining and hotel stay experience.

Rooms, bed is comfortable. Plenty space. Bathroom and rooms are very clean. No old musty feel. It is a gem well kept! Quiet, quaint and homey. Very relaxing for any occasion. It’s a historic building so you have to remember room sizes were different but this was well put and placed! Nothing disappointing about that. Everything is available to you! Computer, library, tv.

Book and stay if you are wanting a well thought out personable, friendly, welcoming experience. Bikes are available for use around town and property. Enjoy wine on the porch. Excellent food! Sleep well and know you will have great care and service during your stay!

Such an amazing stay. The recent surge has impacted the hospitality industry and times are tough now. However my concern in that regard is lessened by my fully protected status. The staff was caring and engaging. My visit was centered on skiing at the Highlands at Harbor Springs and the Bay View was a great place in proximity to that. I enjoyed breakfast at the Bay View, and the Perry Hotel. Both were well prepared, served by excellent staff, and delicious! Stafford's values thier guests safety as well and they are careful and attentive to needs. All in all a great experience and so looking forward to returning asap!! Highly recommended.

Staff was extremely friendly. Ethan (evening host) went out his way to help me find an outlet and extension cord to for my truck’s block heater. Room was cozy with piping hot fireplace and gorgeous view. Felt like we were back in the 1800s. Breakfast was great. Be sure to ask for the pecan rolls (not on the menu)

My review is for their breakfast/ dining experience. I did not stay here. The inn itself is so quaint! The staff from the front desk reception to the waiters were excellent. Breakfast was incredible and very reasonably priced. Eggs Benedict was amazing! If we didn’t have a place in the area we would 100% stay here. Definitely will be coming to dine again in the future.

Beautiful location. We attended a memorial service here. Tasty appetizers of smoked fish and interesting pin wheels. Tasty desserts.. Bar is small but efficient. Had a piano! Servers kept the trays full.

My boyfriend and I stayed here Oct. 22-23 to celebrate an anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed staying here! We stayed in suite 1 and loved the fireplace, 2-person whirlpool tub, the view of the bay from our private balcony, the complimentary cookies, the free storage space in the basement for our bicycles, the breakfast each morning, the friendly staff, the proximity to the famed Tunnel of Trees ... basically we enjoyed every single aspect of our stay! We look forward to visiting again in the future!
