Bay Inn of Petoskey

Despite of all the reviews here, me and my husband had a wonderful experience during our stay. The room was very clean and newly renovated. They were very good at communicating all the details. They sent us text and emails so we got the code for our door and other details. The view from Lake Michigan was very pretty. I will recommend this place to friends and family.

Perfect location!!! The Bay Inn is so close to everything around the city of Petosky. The tables and chairs out front were nice for enjoying the beautiful view of Little Traverse Bay. Our room was nicely remodeled & decorated. Loved the bathroom arrangement and the beds were very comfortable. Nice addition of Keurig coffee and tea. Never heard any traffic or noise while sleeping with the fan on. It’s a wonderful place to stay while visiting the area. And there is more remodeling coming to the outside with hot tubs in the near future. We look forward to returning!

We really loved staying at the Bay Inn! Our room was clean and really cute. Loved the little extra's like tea and coffee. You can't beat this location. It is close to everything and the views are amazing!

My new go-to in Petoskey! When I visit family, for the past 10+ years I stayed near the shopping areas, lucky to have a view of the water from a 2nd story balcony. Now I can wake up with an unobstructed view of the bay! (And about $75 less expensive!!!) I arrived late around 8 pm and they promptly answered the phone to give me instructions for check in. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior, the room was beautifully remodeled and I especially appreciated the laminate floors (think of all the germs in carpeting!) Bathroom with luxury shower heads. Modern boutique-style room decor, I wish I had taken pictures (price tag still on the cute planter!) The only negatives: I couldn't find an ice machine, but the lobby area doesn't have the room for it. Only 1 very small waste can in the room to service both the room and bath area. Coming back from a day in town shopping and snacking, needed a bigger trash can for all the leftovers, bags, etc! Will it stop me from coming back? Absolutely not!

Nice place, newly renovated/updated. Exceptional views, quite and close to the city but enough distance so your not in the city. Across the street from a vast network of cycling/running/walking trails. Love the overall atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are well outfitted. Looks almost brand new. Comfortable beds. Roku TV with plenty to watch but, the best viewing was the sunsets out in the garden in front. Unique set up where you use your phone number as your key code to get in the room door. We liked it, no card key or room key to lose while you're out exploring Petoskey. The owner was very quick to respond with any questions we had via text. Very convenient location. The only negative that I can think of is that the water pressure is a little low but, not bad enough to say I won't return in the future. I do believe that when we return to Petoskey, this will be our go-to place to stay.

We loved the small town feel of this hotel. Very quiet and inviting. Also the man that checked us in (I’m assuming the owner) was very nice and fun to chat with. We loved every minute of it and will be back. Thanks for having us!

My daughter and I felt welcomed by the friendly staff as soon as we arrived. We were offered fig newtons, granola bars and various other snacks to take to our room along with 2 (real) coffee cups and coffee. We put everything in a red tray to carry to our room. It was a nice little personal gesture. The view from the room was spectacular and the room was quiet, very clean and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

Very nice and well taken care of! We booked a last minute room and wish we had booked additional nights. Affordable option in an expensive lodging area. Beautiful view of the water and a great location. Super clean, newer carpet, comfortable beds and pillows, and friendly office attendant.
The only thing that was weird was the old bottle of open/used shampoo.
Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely loved the view from our room. As first timers here in Petoskey it was a lovely stay. The room was clean and the beds where comfortable. I absolutely loved the charm and that is family owned love this place has. Talking about coming back to petoskey next year and this is place I will return.

The Bay inn of petoskey was an excellent stay completely renovated, and a fantastic view!

Good view and good location, beds are more comfortable than I was expecting. Our room had a TV with multiple hdmi ports and they have wifi. Bit of an older place so don't expect anything high class or whatever. Has the standard room service/ do not disturb sign you can hang and our room was cleaned up while we were out.

Verne left a smile on my face long after I met him, he's just a lovely man!

Unfortunately we were only booked for one night but we will certainly be staying here again.

The rooms are clean and charming, it seems that the owners and staff have thought of everything which lends itself so easily to feeling like home away from home. We'd recommend this place to friends and look forward to returning!

A step back in time. Check in was wonderful. The lady (I believe owner) was sweet and made me feel right at home. The room (101) was a lovely queen with a great view of the bay. The Inn is old and that is a big reason it has so much charm and character. Looking forward to my next stay.

Our first stay here and definitely will be back. The grounds are very nice even under snow. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Checking in was a snap and the view from our room is gorgeous!! Would recommend this to everyone and I will! Prices are very reasonable .

The room was very clean and spacious. The man that checked us in was very friendly. The price was great. Door was air-tight, no breeze or dust blowing in under the door. No musty smell. We stayed in room 208 on 2nd level and could sit on balcony watching the bay. It greatly exceeded my expectations!! It was a last minute stay. We made reservation online from Meijer parking lot, picking a cheap hotel to just sleep at, and we went straight there. So happy with the choice!! Will definately plan a longer stay in the future!
