Beautiful hiking trail with lots of Trilliums!! They are getting ready to replace or add on to part of the trail.

Dowagiac Woods Nature Preserve is well known for its spring time flower display. It’s been on my list for a revisit this year for a while but today was a perfect day free quick 1.5 mile hike through the wildflowers in this preserve. this is a Michigan nature preserve property and I’m not sure exactly how much mileage you can get in here however I do know that at 1.5 miles I barely scratch the surface. OK good variety of terrain and echo systems with some swamp wetland, river, and forest. Trails are well marked, mostly packed dirt and or boardwalk. The trails are mostly single person wide. This preserve is not handicap accessible, it is kid friendly, posted no pets. It is free, and there is a decent size parking lot. Map and rule pictures at the end of the photos.

First time being here, and great hike, very scenic. Can't wait for the tree's to become more lively as warm weather approaches!

Beautiful, never overcrowded but frequently used trails. They overgrow slightly in the summer since they're quite narrow but the landscape is gorgeous. Two trails, a short .5 mile loop and a 1.3 mile loop through buggy muddy area with a thin boardwalk.

I'm slowly replacing the boardwalk this year. The flowers are awesome out there in the Spring!

Very pretty nature trails. Love the length and scenery. Well kept, with almost no trash on it. Bring a pair of waterproof boots though. Sometimes a part of the trail does flood a bit, and you might get your feet wet. (Not a deal breaker for us, but others might not appreciate wet shoes.)

Absolutely beautifully untouched. Our family’s new place to take in nature.

Well marked, a little overgrown, nice trail for running since the majority of the trail is boardwalks

Lovely little nature sanctuary with trails. One loop, plus another little trail through the center. Varied scenery (streams, pine forest, wetland, etc). Cute little bridge and a long boardwalk section. No facilities, other than an info board and a few benches along the way. Trails are well marked, but boardwalk could use a little maintenance. Definitely in a low lying area, so be prepared for mud. Overall a very nice spot for a walk in the woods.

Not for those looking for a casual stroll. It's trails are a bit overgrown and Lots of roots on the trail and is very narrow to walk through which would make taking infants in a stroller literally impossible. However... if back to nature is what you're after THIS IS IT! Such beauty and isolation. Loved it!

It's a fantastic experience. The trail actually feels like it's a part of the forest and not some over trimmed touristy attraction. I found lots of wildlife, and the river was so calm.

This place is so beautiful, especially in springtime when the flowers bloom. The spot with the bench and the creek look like a movie.
