This place is very serene. Quiet and peaceful. The park was fairly clean of litter and the water was clear enough to see a ways out. We loved the wild flowers growing on the bank! Next time we'll bring a picnic to enjoy here!

I enjoyed my Sunday at Kishwaukee River Forest Preserve. My dog and I took a walk down the very clean and clearly marked trail. It was peaceful and relatively quiet. Perfect getaway from the noise of the city.

We decided to stop by this park to eat a lunch by the river. It was our first visit here. I have to say it was a very peaceful park. We saw many people in the river, tubing, and kayaking. I did not see a official place to launch but seems possible.

Some fun, walkable trails, with plenty of shade available on hot days here. The river area was my personal favorite place in the forest preserve - I saw a very cute frog, and there were also some very fun rocks to look at. Great place for a hike or just for a nice day outside!

Visited on Sunday July 17, 2022. You can park within 10 feet of the Kishwaukee River and watch people on inner tubes or just enjoy the slow moving current pass by. Returned today Oct 4, 2022.

Paved trail with lots to explore. We took our kids who are 5 and 8 and it wasn't too difficult for them to ride their bikes. Very well maintained.

Superb place for picnic or outing. Shed, grill, outdoor table chairs and that river side make the place perfect.

Kishwaukee River Forest Preserve is a historic and scenic preserve bisected by the Kishwaukee River. Very popular for river access, it receives a lot of use for canoeing, kayaking and fishing.

Had a great time tubing on the river. Took us 5 hours to get from Bauman Park in cherry valley to the kishwaukee forest preserve off Mulford.

I love all of the forests of Winnebago County. You will always get a 5 star rating from me on these.
This preserve is split in 2 parts by the Kishwaukee River which offers fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing capabilities. The East side has a large shelter for gatherings, many picnic areas including several with a view of the river, and some hiking paths. Also a nice, albeit short, scenic drive. The West side offers many fishing spots, a canoe launch, picnicking, a stone shelter for gatherings and a nice forest for hiking. Also very scenic and great for bird watching.
There is also a paved walking/biking path that winds from the East side to the West and then heads North towards and connecting to the Blackhawk Springs walking path. This trail takes you through a diverse and beautiful example of all the wilderness and nature Winnebago County has to offer.
This preserve also showcases the beautiful limestone bluffs our region is known for.

This is a Great place to Walk the Dogs, Ride your Bikes. The Trails are paved and it isn't Buggy at all. This is the first Trail in the area this year that we didn't get eaten Alive by mosquitoes. It's very well kept and quiet. There is also Access to the Beautiful Kishwaukee River for tubing, kayaking and fishing. Hope everyone enjoys this trail s much as we do.
