We are lucky to have Floor to Ceiling here in Freeport. They are excellent to work with and do great work. I've had new blinds, counter tops and backsplash. Very happy with all. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend floor to ceiling! READ THE WHOLE REVIEW- I’ve remodeled two homes and I’ve done business with dozens of contractors. In Freeport area, often you’ll come across contractors who won’t call back, are too busy to fit you in or they price way too high. IF you can find a contractor who is actually available, they do a TERRIBLE job and don’t stand behind their work (ie. they don’t fix what they do wrong). I’ve had it happen at least 5 times with big projects and it will cost you alot of money (thousands) if you don’t hire someone who will stand behind their work because then you have to pay someone else to redo what you already paid to have done. Things happen, people make mistakes and sometimes things need to be redone, you just need to hire someone who knows that and will fix things if they go wrong. I recently hired floor to ceiling to redo our kitchen/dining room floor. It was redone 5 years ago by someone else, but again, it wasn’t done well, so the tile cracked within a year. Floor to ceiling fit us on the schedule within the month which is great. They also had a salesman come look at the floor and make sure everything was going to be ordered correctly. They made an estimate and require half down to install. They have subcontractors do all of their installs. So one of their subcontractors came (3 men) and did the floors. They were very nice, polite, and they got the laying of the floor done in one day. The floor install went mostly well, they made it too short in a few places by the sink. However, they did an aweful job with the baseboard trim. Just terrible. I was devastated by how bad the trim was. So I hired an independent carpenter to do the trim correctly since obviously that subcontractor wasn’t very good at trim... or was having a bad day... who knows. I also had to have the carpenter I hired build out the base of the cabinet to cover where they cut the flooring too short. I contacted Floor to ceiling about this. They sent their salesman out immediately to take pictures. They were very understanding and said that they never have issues like this, the installer must have just had an off day. It happens from time to time in any business. They were very prompt to correct the issues. They offered to send a different one of their guys to fix all of it. But I had already arranged for my carpenter to come fix it. So they reimbursed me for all the money I had to pay to have the carpenter come fix the baseboards and build out the base of the cabinets. Floor to ceiling also sent out their carpet guy (for free) to fix the seam of where the existing living room carpet met the new flooring. At every turn, Floor to ceiling fixed the mistakes that their installers made. I cannot express how rare that is these days. You will not find a contractor that will fix all of their issues the way Floor to Ceiling does. That I can promise. When you hire floor to ceiling you will have the peace of mind of knowing that your flooring/cabinets or whatever job you have them do, will be done correctly. You won’t be left with something that is done wrong and you won’t be left with something that you aren’t in love with. After all the money I have spent to have people fix other people’s mess ups, this means the world to me. Peace of mind is priceless. This was my first time hiring Floor to Ceiling and even though we had some issues, I would not hire anyone else to do floors for any of my houses, because for once I found someone I can TRUST to leave me with a product that I am happy with. You won’t regret hiring them!

Our experience with Floor to Ceiling in Freeport , IL has been far from good. We got our original lvp flooring installed in July of 2023 when we first purchased our home. Within days we started noticing problems such as weak spots in the floor and the flooring coming apart. They came back but the problems continued. By the end of winter the flooring was coming apart in many different places. They sent out their installer who put the blame on the product and then told us he would reach out to our sales rep who then reached out to the owner Doug Wagner. Throughout a few different times of installers(mind you the second set of installers told us they have had to go back and fix multiple different houses done by our first installer) and the owner coming out we all agreed that the best approach would be to replace the whole floor and they did the first week of July 2024. Before this install we made it very clear that this was at no fault of our own and it would be up to them to move the big items in our house, which they did. They put our living room and hallway flooring in the first day and then told us that they would need to replace a portion of the sub floor because it was old and rotted. My S.O works from home so she had to take two days off of work for this to be done and was gone those days. When they cut out the portion of the sub floor in the kitchen they left saw dust all over her computer which is directly below the kitchen. They then forgot to put the kick pad on below the kitchen cabinets and knocked a piece of trim off while removing the vanity.(which they did come back and fix the kick pad and a piece of the kitchen counter top they caught moving the fridge) After all was said and done the second time we walked through the kitchen where that portion of the sub floor was replaced and you can clearly feel the unlevelness of it. I again reached out to doug with floor to ceiling and he just acted like none of these things were a big deal. He then proceeded to explain to me that he has had alot of trouble with this lvp flooring in the past(like I wouldn't have wanted to know that before installing the same floor twice.) And that yes the first installer could have done a better job and he could agree the whole subfloor in the kitchen should have been replaced the first time. We are first time home owners, had we known the subfloor should have been replaced we would have done so the first time, not only did they put their floor down on top of bad sub flooring once they did twice! After they came back and put the kick pad back up doug will no longer return our calls about the uneven sub floor. We didn't care whether it was bad floor or bad installation we just wanted to have it done correctly after spending 5k+ on this flooring. I understand some of these things are very minor and people make mistakes but after nearly a year of dealing with two bad installs and being ignored, how much are we suppose to accept?

We had used them before and had a nice experience. When we wanted to redo the flooring in our house, we tried them again. The second time around was a disaster! Products took a long time to come in, we received the wrong products, staff then was not easy to work with regarding the mistake made by them. Afterwards we were charged for products we did not receive. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and go somewhere else!
