South Marcum Recreational Area

First time camping here. The spot we chose was pretty level. Large pad for camper. Great shade. Restroom/shower house was clean

South Marcum did not disappoint. We love all the camping areas at Rend Lake. Beautiful and relaxing. We love the bike trail. This is our favorite place to camp.

Took the family for a camping weekend. The campsites are well maintained. Had a perfect view of the lake and plenty of spots to fish. Absolutely would come back.

First time at this campground and was really surprised. Big sites extra parking for all the people that need 2 cars for the weekend. Some sites aren’t real level but if you know what your doing it’s not a problem. There is no parking on the grass or dogs off leash and it is unforced so if your those people the state park would be better for you. 20-30-50 amp power some fhu and some w&e. Beautiful area little highway noise. Will definitely be back

Love this campground. Large treed sites with paved parking spots, each has a concrte pad for entrance and picnic tables. 47 0f the 147 sites have full hookups, all others have electricity. Many with lake views. Plenty of wildlife to view. Plus a large group area.

Awesome place for fun on the water with friends and family. I worked on Rend Lake for 20 years. Beautiful recreational area for boating, camping. Come see for yourself. Kayak and bike trails over entire lake. Beautiful sunsets.

Awesome campground all around. The showers were clean, nice playground for the kids, and plenty of secluded sights for those who want more peace and quiet. Beautiful scenery and trails as well.

What a totally lovely stay at the South Marcum Campground! We arrived there after a 7 hr drive just in time to set up camp, light a fire and relax overlooking the beautiful view. It could not have been more perfect. The facilities are spotless and the site well manicured and welcoming. We will return and stay longer. It is truly a beautiful area.

I being very generous by giving the place a 5 star rating, but there isnt a 4.75 star ratig button, so this is fine. Good place to connect with nature, other campers, and undercooked chicken.

Wonderful park. Only improvements that could be made would be adding a dumpster at all the loops Also adding a basketball court. Other than that, we loved it.

nice ,spread out camp sites here, paved paths,,bath houses are clean..... lots of trees .... we love this place

Lots of space. However lot 129 has a dip in the pad that has collected mud and debri. If it had rained we would have had our stairs smack in the middle of muddy run-off. Nice shade, bath house dared but decent and as always the shower house was a bake oven.

Amazing fishing for kids and adults! Muuuuch better luck than at the lake even with a boat.

Great camp site. Very peaceful and beautiful view.

We love South Marcum camp ground! Camp here about once a month May - November closing date 😍
Hard to get water hook-up; limited spots. 50 amp hook-up, some nice and level spots for our 42ft - fifth wheel.

Another great Army Corp of Engineers campground! Beautiful setting.

Beautiful area. Good sized lots. Some have full hookups some have limited hookups...just make sure you check the details of the spot you are reserving through Recreation.org (which was super easy to use). There is a good playground and a very nice paved walking/biking trail close by. We will becoming back for some lake activities (when it's warmer).
