Ramada by Wyndham Cedar Rapids

Great Hotel. Once you get passed the outside appearance the welcoming experience occurs. The staff were friendly, customer focused and fun. There was always a smile greeting you. The rooms were clean. I would stay again. D at the front desk counter was outstanding.

The A/C was a bit loud, same with the bathroom fan. Other than that, my stay was excellent! The bed was amazing for me, I need a soft bed. Most hotel beds are too hard for me. The breakfast in the morning was very good. I would gladly stay here again. My little dog enjoyed the stay as well.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location. Sadly, restaurant was not operational due to staffing issues common everywhere these days since no one wants to work. Would like to see more than one chair in a room though for couples

I was traveling from Texas to pick up a car. I had made reservations for Friday night and the airline managed to mess that up. I had made a non-refundable reservation and was afraid I would be out the money. I called the desk at midnight and explained what had happened to me and my flight. They moved the reservation to the next night to accommodate me. When I arrived Saturday the guy at the front desk was very helpful. I asked him for a dinner recommendation and I took him up on it and that was good as well. I had a clean room, good tv, comfortable bed, hot water and plenty of water pressure and I would stay here again. Thanks for making it work for me.

The hotel was very clean rooms have been remodeled. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff was so kind. From desk to Maintenance. Special thanks to Matt D. Maintenance guy not his job but went out of his way when asked. I needed towels he got them for me. Only because he was first staff I saw so I just asked. Our overall stay was worth every bit of 5 stars.

1stv and 2nd floor are getting remodeled, but we never heard a peep from our room. Room had good white noise, which we appreciate (hate it when the air kicks on and off loudly all night, and that wasn't an issue here.) Pool was warm. Smart TVs in rooms, as well as a lit mirror with different lighting settings and a built in makeup mirror. Good free breakfast, but go early.

Came and stay'd with my children. They were very understanding when my child had a accident from storm where it shut off power. The Staff is superp, they had a lot of people staying at the hotel for some event, but they night staff handled it perfectly. Breakfast was delicious the first day when we got the continetal breakfast, my kids also loved the To-go breakfast for in the morning made them feel special since we had to leave so early. We can't wait to see the hotel when it is finished.

they are almost done with the renovation to the motel. the new rooms are very nice.
the free morning breakfast is good. eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, waffle, and some fruit. pool area was nice. hot tub wasn't working. close by restaurants and gas stations.

I've stayed in this hotel for 20 years and it went down the tubes 5 years ago. The new owner was at the front desk and made me aware of all the upgrades he has done. The rooms are completely upgraded with brand new beds air conditioning works comfortable pillows extremely clean. And a great bar and grill with excellent food simply steps away.very very nice. At minimum a three-star hotel. Not perfect yet but he replaced all carpet and is upgrading the facility it's actually wonderful and I stay in hotels across the Midwest every night of the week and I stay in hotels across the Midwest every night of the week. After staying several nights at another hotel (where I have diamond status) where I was rudely rushed out the door at 1115 am (even carrying my luggage) I called to see if I could get an early check-in around noon. They were happy to have a room available as soon as I arrived. The lobby is beautiful and the staff have gone above and beyond. Management is regularly interacting with guests and eager to please. The hotel is dated but it definitely has potential. There's a restaurant/bar in the hotel that offers room service. Nice size indoor pool and fitness room. Beds are amazingly soft. Rooms have nice furniture however the windows need replaced in the several areas. The bathroom is dated but the shower has great water pressure and shower head. Hotel rates are reasonable before considering the on-site restaurant bar and pool. There was a baseball tournament in town which led to many of the hotels in the city to increase rates to absurd amounts. However this hotel was $20-$30 cheaper than hotels that aren't half as accommodating. The staff, charm, and location has blown away the competition! Keep doing what you're doing and it will be a gem! Better than expected! Great people. Clean modern room. Breakfast was excellent and coffee was great.

Easy to tell why employees are happy. Great staff! Even the maids are happy and friendly. Anyone thar works here will go the extra mile to help you have a great stay

My husband and I stayed here due to us going to a new company. In our 22 years of driving it was one of the the best I've ever been treated. Matt went out of his way in kindness and the big guy behind the desk was such a blessing. They have a very nice breakfast, pool and hot tub for those sore muscles too. We will definitely be back through. Thanks again!

Room was very clean, updates look nice. I love the light fixtures in the lobby. The staff is excellent. Price is on point.

Decent hotel newly remodeled rooms. If you need room to park they have huge semi parking lot. I haul oversized loads had plenty of room. I would recommend to anyone great stay for the price.

Staff was very friendly upon check-in and check-out. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were able to get to any part of Cedar Rapids easily.

This was my second stay at the Ramada and both times, I (along with my 2 Great Danes) was treated like royalty! I mostly dealt with Victoria and Deondre at the front desk, as well as the manager who were all extremely helpful. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Thanks to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant stay in Cedar Rapids!

Joseph the manager was so accommodating. We was booked at a different hotel and after they learned that there was a small gathering for a six year old BDAy party the manager came and told us we had to leave the property. Crazy right?!!
We went to Ramada and explained the situation and Joesph went above and beyond to be sure that my six year grandson was not disappointed.

Ahbi and Joseph were AMAZING! The Hotel has a nice vibe very clean well managed all the staff was very helpful! The hotel is in a convenient location with everything you need within the hotel or a short walk away! Highly recommended!

My husband and I have been traveling for work for over a year and have been continuously frustrated regarding the never-ending tug of war of having to choose between a halfway decent hotel (where the staff is garbage anyway) OR an affordable one.
But then we found this gorgeous little diamond in the rough!
As someone explained before in another review, most of the hotel is expectedly dated. The difference is, however, it’s a CLEAN dated. Other than finding a couple of stray unsmoked cigarettes (presumably dropped by previous tenant) in places that could have very easily been overlooked, the carpets, bathrooms, jacuzzis, sheets-old but THOROUGHLY clean.
And the staff has been absolutely spectacular. The GM, Matt, has not only gone above and beyond to accommodate our service animals (which means the world to me as they are essential to my life and health), but he ACTUALLY acknowledged our Diamond membership and upgraded us to a much bigger room with a jacuzzi right in the room! (There is still a full tub/shower in the bathroom if necessary). Mr. Matt also took us on a grand tour of the hotel and its ballrooms, offices, pool, gym, etc..(during which he gave us a bunch of extra bottles of water from the kitchen because I think my husband asked for 1- I’m serious they’re so nice here) where we met just the friendliest staff including Chef Jason who puts out a stunning display of fresh breads, bagels, fruits, cereals, waffles, eggs and sausages (which were cooked just right), various coffees and teas, and a fruit juice machine all served with clean and polished dishes, silverware, mugs, and glasses (the food was absolutely delicious, btw, seriously hands-down the best hotel breakfast period). The dining area is the one place that isn’t too dated- it’s beautiful actually and has areas with little half-walls and booths for privacy. I wasn’t sure where to put my dishes when I was finished and saw Chef Jason replacing some food so asked him, to which he responded with a smile, “oh I’ll take that for you!”
Also, I’d like to add- the day after we first got here, I was hungry and called the front desk to ask about room service. I was informed that the main bistro&grill is closed temporarily and therefore, so is room service- but that they would be back after a period of time. I told them it was totally understandable and went about my day. I later found, outside my door, two brown bags just chock full of snacks to the tune of (one of each /bag) apples, oranges, large blueberry muffins, raspberry danishes, bottles of water, orange juice, and granola bars.

I could go on forever about the exceptional service here, that I can honestly say I’ve personally never experienced anywhere, and we’ve been all over the place. It just makes such an enormous difference in your life when the staff treats you like family and makes you feel at home when you are so far away from your own familiarity. Anyway, suffice it to say, the price is incredible, the staff is accommodating, and it is a stay you won’t soon forget.
Huge huge thank you to Matt for giving us, like, 30 LESS things to stress about in the couple of weeks we’ll be staying and making us feel special, heard, respected, and genuinely considered.

(I think it’s important to add the quick footnote that I have terrible mental health issues- this is the first hotel where I haven’t felt nervous at every knock, scared to speak up to staff about an issue, or even nervous about just walking around the hotel by myself. It feels very safe and friendly- perfect for those with any mental/behavioral health issues and I feel confident in saying they’d be more than accommodating to any other health issues as well.)

They had 2 weddings going when we arrived. It was super busy and it could have easily overwhelmed the staffed, instead the staff was amazing! They were super helpful, Andy was accommodating and extremely nice, and Richard behind the desk was awesome. Was super upbeat, great personality, helpful and made us laugh! Beds were comfortable and it was a very nice visit! Just what we needed after our long day! Plus, that lobby is just gorgeous!
