REI

This store is in a good area and location. Has plenty of sports items and services to all your sporting needs. Staff is always happy to assist me when stopped and questioned by me for help. Always a great experience in REI for me and my family. I've been a REI member for over 30 years, and it has great rewards. Some of my purchases were done online and picked up in store. Great resource and availability. I recommend it. Extremely satisfied.

Of course it’s just before Christmas but this REI was so well stocked. Every shelf and display chock full of merchandise. I stopped for one simple strap but Judy loaded up with a camp blanket, slippers, etc.

Mr. Bill was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable helping me find the shoe I was looking for. My woman was helped by someone else and she was not as satisfied with her shoe purchase. So, def look for Mr. Bill. He could give his co-workers some advice on how to be a great assistant.

I’m giving 5 stars to this store because the staff deserves it. I go to this location at least once a month. I’ve never had a negative experience with anyone. They’re always so helpful and full of advice OR if they don’t know the answer to my question , they find someone who does. The people here are simply great.

Edit 11/13/2023 : REI has started providing plus size options in their clothing line and have made it available in store , not just online. It makes me stupid happy. Thanks for caring and acknowledging that plus size people exist in the outdoor community.

BUT!

I give zero stars to REI the company who doesn’t think that plus size people deserve representation in their stores. Myself and others like me should be able to go in and find clothing to try on in our size. If you offer it online it means there’s a demand for it. The average size of a woman in the US is a size 16 to 18. Which I happen to be. I’m forced to buy a large portion of my clothes from the mens section so I can have hiking appropriate items (that roughly fit).That or I would have to order online and then return if it fit incorrectly. I want to be able to try things on like everyone else. Hiking is my passion! I don’t need to be a size 14 or below to enjoy it. Do better! Your staff will always be there to kindly help me, but will you stock your store with clothing I can actually try on and buy is the real question!

Amazing place to buy top of the line outdoor gear. Knowledgeable people willing to help with whatever outdoor needs you might have. If one of them doesn't know something they will make sure to try to find out with other coworkers.
Come here for the customer service and the gear.

Amazing products, good prices and great support!

I went in to try on a pair of running shoes for an upcoming marathon and was greeted by Eli. She was very helpful and answered every question I had and made sure I had all the information on the shoes I was looking at. She made it a great experience and took care of all the other customers at the same time and never rushed me it was a great and helpful experience

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to Manager Selma and her team. Selma went above and beyond to help my husband and I secure a Christmas gift order. Selma and her team is what makes us want to keep coming back to REI and why we are members in the first place. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

This is a great place for hardcore outdoor enthusiasts. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. And as a member the return policy is very good. For example, I was trying some new trail running shoes and I can return them up to a year even after I've used them. Quality products as well. Exchange are very easy.

I had one of the best experiences shopping in the Bay Brook REI today. I went in for a hat I had seen online. By the time I got there there was only one left I was able to snag. But I was helped by Paige who was an absolute delight to talk with. She of course asked if I was a member and I explained that I’m not a big REI shopper because as a plus size person they don’t carry my size so I only stop in for the occasional thing, not clothing related. Paige went on to explain that REI as a whole is starting to carry more and more plus size clothing and that their store manager at the Bay Brook location purposefully carries extended sizes of clothing and gear IN STORE! Needless to say a left with my hat and an REI membership for future purchases. Thanks Bay Brook REI for catering to outdoorsy people of all shapes and sizes, and thanks Paige for all your help!

I brought my bike in to get my cassette replaced and had quick and excellent service. I expected to leave my bike for a couple of days, but they did the change out while I waited. Len T. was particularly helpful in not only doing the repair, but also in explaining how I could prevent wearing out my cassettes so fast by shifting gears differently. Thanks!! I’ll definitely be using the REI bike repair shop again.

Lots of cool outdoor gear and everyone was nice. Good clean store as usual.

This place is unbelievable. You don't find customer service as top notch as they believe it should be. New lifetime customer here.

My husband and I just ventured into the primitive camping world. We went to REI to buy some of our gear and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the help I received from Mike! He was so very knowledgeable and he helped me to find the perfect boots! I literally walked 30 miles in 3 days, and my feet did not hurt one bit! He assisted with the compass that I purchased along with a sleeping bag. He had great advice and with the co-op pricing, we truly did feel like we received a good deal on most items. The advice and support one gets from REI is well worth the small percentage difference that you pay by going online shopping on Amazon; plus if you join the co-op they have a great hotline that can help over the phone! I already had to call them for advice on something and they were also super helpful. We will return!

I come from small towns, so REI was new to me. I have been living in Houston for six years and became a member about six months ago.

Everyone here is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Their sales are huge and plenty. I love the garage sale area, it feels like treasure hunting.

I'm planning an Alaska trip and I know nothing about cold climates. I have been leaning heavily on REI folks for their knowledge.

Love this store and thoroughly enjoyed the Appalachian Trail class. Sign up for upcoming classes on their website. Most are free to attend and learn more about getting outdoors and what gear and clothing you will need on your adventures.
