Everett Baptist Church

I grew up in this church with Bro. McWilliams as preacher, then with Bro. May as preacher. It is a small hometown church. VBS was always fun for me. There is not a huge amount of youth members, but has the potential to grow with word of mouth about this wonderful church and wonderful members. They accepted my biracial children with arms wide open, which unfortunately, is not very common in this area. They have a fun Halloween party each year for the kids with a hayride and other things, they do have events to draw in a younger crowd throughout the year. The preacher they have now is wonderful and I am forever grateful for him and the entire congregation that made my daddy, Jim Brown, feel like he was at home when he was there. He belonged to this church and faithfully went every sunday morning, evening, and wednesday evening by driving himself even though he was battling lung cancer. This church was where he had his memorial service and the heartfelt words from the preacher meant the world to us. We could bot have asked for a better, down to earth, just the way daddy would have wanted it type of service. The members loved and accepted my daddy and he had never felt that welcomed in any church he had ever been to. They have good singing, good eating-they always find an occasion worth celebrating and fellowshipping over lunch-great preaching and teaching, sunday school classes are great and small in size to allow everyone that attends to know each other, everyone has a chance to be part of the discussion at topic, prayers are powerful, and the presence of God and His son Jesus Christ are felt in this place. I was saved and baptized here many years ago. If anyone is looking for a local down home southern baptist church filled with some good christian people to fellowship with, this is the place to do that. Give Everett a visit and see if this is where The Lord calls you to stay. You won't be disappointed. Sunday school starts at 9a and service starts at 10a, evening service is at 6p, and Wednesday prayer meet is at 7p IF nothing has changed since I was there. Just call the office, someone will be more than happy to give you the times of worship services.

We were invited to share a noontime meal. The congregation was vry friendly and welcomed us in.
