Salty Soul Island Kitchen

Edit: The service needs fine tuning. They use a group server system, meaning all of the waitstaff shares tables and you can order from anyone. During my visits, multiple servers approached immediately for my order, but they didn't return. I waited 20 minutes after eating to flag someone down for a box and the check. It's also disruptive to have to repeat what you've ordered and where you're at in your meal to multiple people. Needs work. Food is amazing 10/10, but I would not come here if you're on a time crunch (as I was between work appointments).

If you want a good burger this is the spot! Their homemade salsa is nice - not spicy at all and has a smoky flavor. We sat on the patio under the shade from palms and umbrellas so we weren't hot. Great location to watch a parade from, if you're lucky enough to score a table. I'd return!

I recently stopped by Salty Soul for some appetizers and drinks while Dunedin was pretty busy. The service stood out with its efficient group service system, and the servers were nice and attentive.

We decided to try the Tuna Poke Cups, Lemon Pepper Wings, and a side of fries. The wings were tasty, with just the right amount of seasoning and crunch. However, the Tuna Poke Cups fell short for me due to the odd temperature clash between the cold tuna and warm plantain cup. The flavor was decent, but it didn't quite hit the mark. On the other hand, the fries were satisfyingly crispy, salty, and hot.

For drinks, we ordered a Bubbly Sangria and Prosecco. The sangria was pleasant with its white base.

Overall, I would rate my experience at Salty Soul a solid 10/10 (I might just be a tad picky about those tuna cups). Thanks for a wonderful time, Salty Soul! :)

This fun beachy-vibed restaurant was excellent. We got tacos, a burrito, fries, and a salad, and everything was excellent. The prices were very fair, even with upcharge for fries (which were amazing!) Pretty sure that this was the smallest check we've had at any restaurant in the recent past, even with a sangria. The staff was SO attentive! The decor is beachy and relaxed. They serve beer, wine, and wine-based cocktails (not a full bar,) but they have a variety of yummy beverages. On the way out don't forget to take a pic at their photo wall.:)

First time through Dunedin, need to come back and explore. Used Google maps to find a Resto with fish dip, because I try it wherever I go and NOTE the Pearly’s menu is the former format/same Owner and they “can’t” remove those menu photos #helpgooglemaps? Use the .com for menu.

Sat at the bar with :15 to close (9pm on a Friday?) had the poke bowls-made from pressed plantains-yum and a grilled fish taco. Order came with tomato sauce on the taco, weird and was not noted in the menu so sent it back/intollerent, replacement without tomato was very good. Attentive service, multiple dining areas in an old house in and outside. Good tap beers and lol loved the Spring Hill Hazy IPA. Parked in a free city structure. Weird green haze in night photos due to bar lighting.

All the servers and staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The vibe and decor in this place is so relaxing and beachy. We loved the beverage options — kombucha for me. Our food was delicious — we loved the Baja burrito bowls, tacos and GBLT!

Since it changed hands last year, Salty Soul has been our go-to for family gatherings, friend meetups, or just a good hang. Its chill vibe says “C’mon in and relax”. Kassie, the owner, always says, “I just like people to feel like they’re in my home.”

The menu is always good, and always on-point. It’s delicious comfort food with just the right amount of Florida flair.

On this day we had smashed burgers, tubular tacos, and our favorite side: hush puppies - a Salty Soul staple. We started the meal with one of our favorites, the Tropical Pork Cup. Can’t beat the combo of sweet and savory: pulled pork with a sweet pineapple cream on them.

Hush puppies can often be little more than cornmeal grease sponges. At Salty Soul, they’re a great balance of fried and crunch.

The tubular taco had just the right amount of stuff in it that made it not the messfest tacos this size can be. The ingredients were fresh and mighty tasty.

And the smash burger . . . well look at the thing. Delicious, down to the crumbs.

We can’t recommend it enough, if you’re looking for a place to just sit, eat, and be happy.

And leave stuffed.

I first came when it went by another name. We have since come back 2-3 times since it has become the Salty Soul and we love the food. The tacos, burgers and the surf and turk sandwiches are all great. Open air bar setting inside and out as well as table service.

Casual and artsy. Good music and tasty food. Perfect for a spring night.

Awesome! Food was great, and the live music was fantastic. The surf and turf loaded fries and cajun fries were a favorite for my husband and I!

Had the most amazing time!! Bridgette was an amazing server! Definitely brightened my day! The bartender Bob was fast, friendly and efficient. The owner Cassie was so sweet. Honestly the best place I’ve been in Dunedin for a long time. The energy is so nice in there and the Key Lime pie was insane!!! Highly recommend this place everyone :):)

This place is seat yourself! As soon as my partner and I sat, we were greeted with a very kind waitress. They very quickly gave us our waters and gave us a good amount of time to look through the food and drink menu. We got our waters super quickly and as soon as my partner finished his water, he didn’t even have to ask for a refill- i LOVE it (especially since we were sitting outside in this summer sun)!! Our food came surprisingly quickly and was super delicious. We both got the fish sandwich fried with fries as a side. The atmosphere was very friendly, welcoming, and it felt casual yet polished at the same time. I also loved that they had water mist spraying onto both higher and lower outdoor seating. I also noticed: another couple came in with their very beautiful dog and our same waitress brought their dog a water bowl- so sweet!! Overall 10/10 service, food, and vibes. We were visiting the area so we won’t be here too often, but it will definitely be a place to remember and revisit. <3

The blackened shrimp tacos are great but the tuna in plantain bowls are amazing. I've now had them 3 times and every time was consistently amazing! Keep up the 🔥.

This place has an Amazing vibe. We were greeted with a smiles walking through the door! The food, service, and atmosphere were spot on. Our server Marcus made sure that we were taken care of, and had great menu recommendations. Live local music on the patio was also a pleasant surprise.

Customer service was amazing even as slammed as they were on St Patrick's Day. I had the shrimp tacos which were absolutely delicious. Actually, everyone enjoyed their meals. Definitely, will be a new dinner place for us.

The service was quick and friendly. I always come here for their Baja bowl? It’s do delicious and the bowl is edible! Atmosphere was nice and weather was beautiful to sit outside.

We went here for lunch during our vacation and we loved it! We got the chicken salad wrap with chips & salsa. I will have to say, it was the best chicken salad I’ve ever had. And we split the wrap and I couldn’t even finish half of it because it was so big. We loved the atmosphere, decor and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be back!!

I’ve been to Pearly’s a couple times now. You order food at the bar & it’s brought out to your table once ready. I have gotten chicken taco, steak taco, and bacon ranch fries. The chicken taco is so good, especially the cilantro Baja sauce on top. The steak taco wasn’t my favorite, nothing wrong with it just personal preference I think. Bacon ranch fries were yummy & served in a big portion, easily enough for 3-4 people to share!
The vibe is beachy, just as it says in the name. :)
