Hands downs best bbq around and the service is even better. The owner is genuinely the nicest and most sincere guy! This place does not disappoint! And just like the counter says “I got you” he’s not joking! Heart of gold, thanks for ending my wife’s birthday on great note! ❤✌

We're visiting Phoenix from Dallas, TX and we drove 30 mins to taste the rib tips after reading the reviews and I must say, they did not disappoint!!! The food lived up to all the hype. The rib tips and chicken tips were seasoned well and so tender. This how you know they were good, they didn't need any sauce (we got the sauce on the side), but the sauce took them to another level!!! And the watermelon kool-aid is also very good. Top notch customer service!!! Best meal we had in Phoenix!!!

I think we have a winner! I’ve been searching for Chicago style BBQ since I moved here in 2009 and this is it! From the presentation to the taste and quality- authentic 👍🏾 I had the tip and link combo, sauce was great, generous portions, inside reminded me of home😍 My hubby already said he’ll be visiting again soon. Highly recommend!!

Ordered brisket dinner and chicken tip dinner. My son said it’s the best brisket he’s ever had and my chicken tips was a great first time experience. WARNING!!! DO NOT OVER RING THE BELL🫣. I was greeted with the warmest welcoming smile a customer could ask for (Tina) and the owner (Tim) was very professional and greeted me and asked me how was my first experience. I definitely recommend trying this place out. I look forward to ringing the bell again 😊💕

Great food! Nice environment. Love that they play loud music to transcend your experience. I got catfish nuggets, rib tips and chicken, with fries. The price was fair for the portion size. The food is made to order, so be expected to wait. I would highly recommend. Importantly, it's a Black owned business!

During our recent trip from California to Arizona, we were lucky enough to stumble upon "Taste My City," a hidden gem that we will not soon forget. As BBQ restaurant owners ourselves, we were curious to see what this place had to offer, and it exceeded our expectations in every way.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The lady at the front counter was extremely helpful, taking her time to walk us through the menu and offer insightful suggestions. It didn't stop there— the wife of the owner even came out of the kitchen to personally recommend some options, showing a level of care and dedication that is truly rare.

We ordered rib tips, catfish, a full slab of ribs, BBQ chicken, plain fried chicken, french fries, and green beans. Every bite was a testament to the passion and expertise that goes into their food. The rib tips were tender and flavorful, the catfish was perfectly fried, and the BBQ chicken was smoky and delicious. Even the plain fried chicken and sides like the fries and green beans were executed to perfection.

The food at "Taste My City" will undoubtedly have you coming back for more. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and give this place a try—you won't be disappointed.

As soon as we entered we were greeted with a smile and verbally welcomed. He thanked us for coming in even before we placed our order. The food was excellent. The fish has a mustard based breading and I'm not a fan of mustard. I expressed this and he immediately subbed my order at no additional cost. Excellent customer service and food! I'll definitely be back!

Flew into town for the weekend from Wisconsin and let me tell you.. Taste my City needs to open a spot in Milwaukee cause when I say the rib tips are flavorful and juicy. “I don’t eat everybody potato salad” but this one here so bomb.. everyone I encountered has been friendly and all smiles.. kool aid is *chefs kiss*

Oh my goodness! I just got home with my big boy plate! The taste took me all the way back to childhood. Sooo good, so authentic! My picky Chicagoan father fell in love with them links. The Kool aid taste like my Mama's. Thank you for sharing your foods with us!

Came here with my family and we got (double up combo) the chicken and rib tips with a side of fries and mac & cheese. My son devoured the mac & cheese all on his own! The meats were very good as well. Finished up with Banana pudding and peach cobbler which were both very delicious! The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and hospitable! Can't wait to come back here again and again.

Alright, stand up Southside!!! I was nervous to tryout a restaurant repping not only my city, but even more importantly my hood.

Let me tell y’all, I was pleasantly impressed to find a taste of Chi-Town BABY!!!

My order of turkey tips and fries were seasoned, sauced, tasty and plentiful. The only thing that would make it better would be a more slender uniform cut of the meat and a bomb signature sauce like I-57. Then, for sure, it would be fire!

As far as the atmosphere, black folks are running in & out of there, but I bet if y’all fix the door & do a little sprucing up inside, y’all would snatch up more customers especially from ATL Wings.🤭 Customer service was friendly, interactive, patient and on point.

My final thoughts… I’m so glad I was put on to this spot where I can pick up some good food in this new city from black folks from the Chi!

Let me tell you!!! if you haven’t eaten here, it’s a must have!!! The catfish the shrimp, the french fries the mac & cheese, even down to the tartar sauce is amazing!!’ Highly recommend and will be back for sure!!!

The woman that was at the register was very nice, she helped me decided my order, and not to mention the food was good. The kool-aid was so good and my son loved his chicken tips, the catfish was good as well. The peach cobbler sample was a hit…

I went and the people were so friendly and welcoming! They had been busy all day but made sure the customer service was given down to the last drop. I had the kool-aid and mixed flavors.... I also had seafood salad, ribs and my first experience with catfish. It put me to sleep, right away! 🤣 I have to go back and try the ribs! I see everyone talking about them all the time! 💪🏾

Thank you for our Family feast portions! Went in for their Bogo half off deal but ended up with a feast even enough for tomorrow's lunch. Delicious Flavorful RIBS/Hot LINKs / Sandwiches, fries & wings and sides. Definitely coming back !! I saw their fried fish & shrimps on their menu for next time ! :) Thanks again guys (friendly customer services from the gal that helped us decide our orders) On point !

Listen!!! Do NOT miss this culinary experience!!! Happened upon this gem tucked nicely in a bustling strip mall and we are sooo glad we did!!! As Chicago natives we are ALWAYS leery of someone claiming THEE city, but Taste My City is IT!!! Soon as we walked in we were transported to the Southside!!!
We ordered a bucket of tips, some catfish, shrimp, mac and cheese, green beans, peach cobbler and cake. (I know…greedy) There was not one thing that won’t become a part of our regular rotation. Tender tips, perfect fried seafood…hammercy!!! We got ‘Chicago Style’ wasted!!!

Do yourself a favor and grab 3/4 friends and treat yourself! You will NOT regret it!!!

I had this brought to me via Uber Eats so I can't talk to the service or the atmosphere but I can tell you the food was amazing. Best rib tips and hot links I've had in a long time! Eating here last night was the first time but it definitely won't be the last 😋💜

We were in Az for business with our family. There were 9 of us and some have allergies. Let me tell you everyone in our group was happy and said we will be back.!!! The ribs tips were great! The shrimp were definitely that of jumbo (daughter was having a hard time finishing). I also had an order, they were tasty and filling! My son had ribs and he smashed them! I can’t remember everything we got but nothing was left, if that tells you something! I did get a peach cobbler to go and it was good… more on the dump cake side, but sweet buttery and rich. The guy at the register was so helpful and his daughter was sweet. Mom came out too and she don’t play, she is old school (east coast demeanor)and we loved it. Love the service and food they gave us! Definitely recommend stopping in!!!!
