I had a great experience and I couldn’t love my boy more!! I met him early in the week in January, but I had a meet and greet with another dog on Friday, and I didn’t want to make a rash decision so I left without him. But after meeting my boy, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I canceled my meet and greet and told Adam I would do anything I could to get them to hold my boy until I get there on Saturday (I’m an hour away). Even though they don’t hold animals for anyone, because I had come just to meet him once already they held him until I could pick him up. Everything went smooth and they were so helpful via email. I must have emailed them 100 questions haha. They also stuck by their word of covering the neuter. That process also was smooth and great. I don’t know about the negative reviews, but I emailed when Tino was 7 months old because I didn’t hear from anyone when he was 6 months. They wrote me back quickly and had an appointment the following week. We had him neutered yesterday. They covered it in full and the lady at the clinic was so nice and helpful.
Beside for resource guarding haha, Tino is perfect!! 💕💕

Adopted this little cutie pie earlier this week at the Ulster County SPCA. ☺ She was very sociable and energetic from the moment I approached the playpen she was in and that still holds true after bringing her home. She took right to her new environment. I decided to rename her Josephine "Josie" despite the shelter already giving her a fine and acceptable name.
The entire adoption process went very quick and smooth which was incredible. Assuming I'd be there for at least an hour, I was probably done with everything and walking out with a new cat in less than a half hour. The staff members who helped me there that were also great too. Very personable.
This was my first time ever adopting from the shelter and the experience I had was nothing but positive.

I’ve had several of my pets spayed and neutered at their clinic. They are extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I would highly recommend not only to ALWAYS SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS BUT ALSO ULSTER COUNTY SPCA CLINIC.

This is technically NOT a review for the Ulster SPCA, but rather a shout out to their medical director & vet Dr. Konstantine Barsky. Only a few short hours ago (although it seems like days already) Dr. Barsky came to our home and peacefully, gracefully helped our dog Aydin transition to his next life. He was kind, compassionate, and caring. I wish I could leave this review in a more appropriate place for the Dr. specifically, but acknowledgment is acknowledgment and this Dr. deserves to be seen and recognized -- some people are just ** made ** for the job they have. While I am sure it's not always easy to be in his position he is in the exact right profession. His energy, kindness, knowledge, and patience made one of the hardest decisions my family has ever had to make so much easier. While I hope to never need his services again (no offense...) I am positive that the animals he helps at this shelter are treated with just as much dignity and respect, as I believe it's not just a job to him, but his actual calling. Thank you beyond words.

Found a badly injured kitty on the side of the road on a weekend when vets were all closed- couldn’t find the owner , brought him to the ASPCA. They were so kind, took him in and he immediately seemed better in their care. I am so grateful for this organization of generous people.

I brought my dachshund Hershel here to get neutered- having 5 other dogs, I have never used the Ulster County SPCA and wish I had! Not only is it super affordable, the staff, namely Clarissa (Clarice? Honestly- I forget!) was so super nice and friendly and pleasant and explained everything! I felt totally at ease dropping him off and left with zero questions. He was neutered, microchipped, tested for heart worm, had his ears cleaned and his nails trimmed for $230. How can you beat that!! I was quoted over $700 at two other vets! I highly recommend this establishment and I want to thank the entire staff for a great experience.

Wonderful place if you need affordable health care for your pets with the clinics they offer. Thanks for taking care of my families pup when he needed to be neutered and the additional services of ear cleaning, toenail trims, as well as the microchip option & additional heart guard treatments helped us keep our vet bills lower which really helps me as a single mom.

We had been looking for over a year before we stopped in Ulster County SPCA on a whim while in town. It was the 4th of July & the shelter was officially closed. Even so, they interviewed & approved us then took their time introducing us to their dogs. We couldn’t be happier with our dude Po’ Boy & I think about how grateful I am to them everyday! 10/10 recommend. based.

Wonderful people here, carrying attentive and very much interested in what's going on in the community. The complete opposite of the Dutchess County SPCA which seems to be falling apart at the seams. I'm no expert but it seems like the director of the DC SPCA oughta go.

Always a big help and I often donate back, what my cats won't use or eat so it's a win win for both of us 😉

Absolutely amazing staff. They do same day adoptions, which is awesome, so we were able to take our adorable Louie home after she stole our hearts

I very rarely post reviews, but I had to come on here and put into writing the amount of appreciation I have for the work being done by the staff and volunteers at the SPCA.

Antonia was so helpful and knowledgeable throughout our adoption meeting. It was obvious to me and my parents that she truly takes pride in the work she does and contributes invaluable expertise to guide adoptees and making sure you find a good fit.

No pup wants to end up abandoned by their owners at a shelter, but the staff at the Ulster SPCA goes above and beyond to ensure they are properly cared for and matched well with adoptees.

Apollo is on cloud 9 in his new home and we are all so in love with him, and bringing him home would not have been possible if not for this amazing organization. Thank you all so much!

I adopted a kitten here recently and didn't realize how great this place was until I started looking for a 2nd kitten and saw the conditions some of the other shelters. Staff are rude, unresponsiveness, and the animals seem not as well treated.. Ulster County SPCA has it together (Savannah was great!) and you can tell they truly love their animals. I definitely hit the cat lotto with this one.

I've adopted all of my animals here for the past few years! & recently I took in a stray cat that I needed to foster for a few days then bring to the shelter.
I had no supplies or knowledge on how to care for this stray cat. Masoomah and Sav were able to assist me with everything and made fostering this cat so much more easier then it would have been. They were able to answer all of my questions, schedule me in as soon as possible and provide excellent advice on how to care for the cat in the meantime. I appreciate everything they do and the hard work they do for the animals should be recognized!

These people are the most loving and caring people I've ever met. Not only can you find your furever friend here you make family with the staff that work endlessly on caring for the animals. I'd highly suggest stopping in.

A very efficient organization. I walked in & the place was neat, clean & disinfected. Associates are professional, very friendly & quick to help. I will continue to support this ASPCA with donations of useful comforters, quilts, sheets, towels, etc. for bedding & bathing.
(They don't want old pillows - but all things for pets are very welcome.)

We had our dog spayed. She's doing well. They were kind, thoughtful, considerate and informative. We are so glad we decided to used them. They were recommended and it was a great recommendation. We definitely refer their services. By the way, thank you SPCA, we are very pleased....
