We live down the street and every time we pass Sakana my heart skips a beat because I want to come here and eat all the time! The sushi is amazing, the uni experience is a dream and the service is fantastic!

Friends I’m staying with took me out to their spot. It was excellent great food; so good they ran out of 3 rolls we tried to order. Sushi menu not pictured sorry for fMango mochi for dessert!!!!

This is now my new favorite local Japanese/ sushi spot. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It’s so relaxing and such a nice atmosphere.

we were looking for some sushi and ramen close to home and this was the perfect spot! such great food and atmosphere. will be a regular restaurant for us.

5 stars 🌟 🤩 ✨ excellent experience. The inside is fully remodeled with beautiful live plants everywhere. The menu was very large with plenty of options. Highly recommend the sushi. The server was fantastic. Quick and fresh, we shall be returning!!!

I like this place I’m not sure how I never noticed it before but we went on a random week night because we had an errand nearby. The food is good and we had an array of selections among our table. They had Uni on their specials that night which immediately set them apart. Their sushi was pretty good but if your ordering other entrees be prepared for a truly a Japanese portion size. I got the beef curry and should have ordered the pork cutlet on top. Not doing this, I was still hungry and ordered the chicken appetizer. The kids had dessert and one had lychee ice cream and the other two had mango mochi ice cream, all raved of how good it was. Please note they love ice cream and I did not sample their dessert myself. The service was good, our waitress was attentive and was knowledgeable about the various menu items. I will say though, I’m not Japanese I don’t know the names of food in Japanese but there are staple dishes you can find anywhere and order them by using a generic name like Japanese fried chicken. The server made it a point to complicate the ordering process bringing the menu back so that I could tell her the names as they appeared on the menu. This was my only issue with the service considering I frequent restaurants serving food from all over the world and infrequently face issues ordering like this. *** price person sushi is $40-60 if not eating sushi $20-30

My fiancée said this was the best sushi and miso soup she’s had in Denver in the last year. We were both pretty impressed with Sakana! Our waiter was extremely polite and attentive as well :) prices are better than you’d expect from such a nice place too!

Omg!! This is the best japanese food in Denver. Before i tried this hidden gem. I thought the food scene in denver was trash. But i accidentally stubble upon sakana sushi after being denied by the korean bbq place next door. The service was impeccable.. our server is the a young girl and she was very sweet, attentive and informative about the menu and the specials. And i like how i can watch the sushi chef make prepare all of the orders. I even contemplated posting this review cuz im selfish and i dont want anyone else knowing about this amazing spot. 1000000/10 would recommend with rice!!

They had amazing ramen and tasty sushi. The service was great and the atmosphere was awesome when I sat in. I’ve also picked up ramen before and it was ready on time!

We always have a great experience at Sakana! The sushi is so fresh and they have amazing ramen. I got the tan tan vegan ramen and it was a large serving; I almost always have leftovers. Everyone is so nice and the food comes out quickly. We’ll definitely be back!

Don't let the outside appearance deter you from this spot. Definitely has a high rating for a reason. The food was good and reasonably priced and the inside is darling. Best part was the service. They were very friendly and speedy. Would return!

Hands down the best locally-owned sushi restaurant we’ve been to here in the greater Denver area. No fuss, no frills (which is my preference with sushi/Japanese food) just the staples, executed with precision. INCREDIBLY, ‘melt in your mouth’ fresh quality of fish, and I wouldn’t exaggerate on this if it weren’t true. An easy 30 minutes away from home, but will absolutely make the drive any time. Just wow.

One of the few Japanese owned sushi restaurants out here. Keeping the japanese tradition, hospitality, and food authentic to its culture. Always a good meal here with amazing service.

Ramen noodles are one of the best I've had in Colorado with a great price that doesn't break the bank ( yes better than uncle's ramen).

I’ve been here a bunch and 5 stars is not enough. Food is fresh, well prepared and seasoned. The staff is great, even when the mess up. Will always be my #1 sushi spot in all of Colorado

First time here. The sushi was really good. I like the California rolls and Ramen bowl. Overall tasty food. The homemade tiramisu cake was really light and delicious.

Wish I could give this place one thousand stars!! Best meal I’ve ever had, I got the curry ramen which was savory with a kick, but not overwhelmingly spicy! You definitely get your money’s worth in volume and flavor.

The Kara-age appetizer was amazing—very moist, but amazing fried texture that was super tasty with some kewpie mayo and lemon!

Our server, Lauren, was extremely kind and helpful for guidance on picking dishes, and made great recommendations. The staff here was very kind and handled a full crowd really well. They are super efficient, well organized and kind in serving you, and the place itself is very comfortable!

I’m recommending this to anyone and everyone who stops in Denver! Can’t wait to come back again!!

Went in for a lil food date, and the service (thanks Jared!) was wonderful! We sat at the bar and got to watch the sushi chef at work!

Ramen was a solid 10/10 for flavor and texture.

Unagi + cucumber roll was SO GOOD!

My dining companion also enjoyed the Philly Roll!

My husband and I have been dining here for the last couple of years and every time we are blown away by how delicious and consistent the food is! The service is top notch and the staff are always friendly. Recommend the shumai and salad as starters, also all of the sushi rolls are good quality fish. We have tried all of the ramens and have enjoyed each one- great flavor and authentic. Hands down one of the best restaurants in Denver.

Sakana (酒菜) is a great Japanese restaurant in Westminster with a very relaxing and unassuming, if not a touch plain, atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff seated us, a party of two, very quickly on a Sunday evening for dinner. We ordered agedashi-dofu, gyoza, unakyu, saba, hirame, and the sake-don. Very high-quality fish on the nigiri, and the dashi on the tofu was fantastic. Prices are reasonable, maybe a tad on the higher side, but the quality of the food justifies the prices, I think. Plenty of parking outside, and tables are spaced for COVID-19 (as of 20 June 2021). No need to travel all the way to downtown Denver any more for good Japanese food! Recommended.

Amazing food and extremely friendly staff. The sushi was fantastic, especially the spicy and yellowfin tuna. The pricing is very reasonable especially for the quality of the fish. I’ll definitely be back again!
