Did this just become my favorite coffee shop in Monroe?? I think YES! I visit family in Michigan about once a month, and I'm always looking for new coffee shops since Monroe County lacks in good coffee shops.

Each staff member is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The environment here is soo cool! It's something totally different than I have ever experienced in a coffee shop. Their bakery items were also pretty good.

If you don't drink coffee, there are other options for you here. I HIGHLY suggest you come here to experience this business because it is awesome!

If I could give TEN stars I would. I love love loveeeee this place- always changing up the menu and always brings the best vibes. Tastiest drinks, cutest cake pops, amazing clothes- and BOOKS!!!! I go every Friday with my friends and it’s worth a try (and every Friday)

This little coffee shop is perfect for Halloween/horror lovers. Awesome for all but especially for all the spooky enthusiast. I had there moon milk and it was to die for, never had one and I was very pleased. I will definitely be back. It was one of my top favorite coffee shops I've ever been too because I myself LOVE Halloween/Victorian style and it was right up my alley.

Me and my partner come here all the time! It is seriously THE best place to get coffee in monroe. They are always trying new things with day only specials (so keep an eye on their facebook!) and have their seasonal menus, so there's always something new to try.
My personal all time favorite drink (from anywhere EVER btw) was last season's Orange Dryad! But this seasonal menu has some great ones too, my partner and I can't get enough of the Bonecarver (we love coconut haha)
The atmosphere of Nocturnal is so nice & the employees are all wonderful people. It's a great place overall and honestly can't reccommend this place enough!

The vibes are spooky gothic and I love it. Not to mention ACOTAR was the first book club theme menu I saw! I tried the bone carver, a bat boy sugar cookie, and the chocolate cookie that is insane like mother of darkness or something and everything was 10/10 and I went alone my first time and was able to just sip and read on my kindle. I have since been back with my cousin and she loved it too! It’s the cutest place and everything so far has been amazing!

I love the atmosphere here so much. I go every Wednesday afternoon to get a coffee and read. I love the drink menus the come up with new drinks and that there are so many unique options. My recent favorite is the Bat Boys drink and I love to get a blueberry donut on the side.

Literally my favorite coffee shop even before the twilight theme (brilliant) and winning the gift basket was the icing on top. If you haven’t been here you must try it. You will not be disappointed. Best atmosphere. Just a great place to hang out.

Great place for a cup of coffee! The atmosphere is super cozy, I love sitting on one of the couches. The drinks always taste great. There's a regular menu and a rotating one. From the most recent visit I had the starfall hot and already want to return for another. They also host events like book clubs and visiting musicians or small business artisans. Altogether this is a great little spot and awesome for those looking for a late in the day hangout spot that's not a bar.

Finally stopped in yesterday afternoon. This place had been on my visit radar for quite a while.I brought my daughter as she loves coffee and works for a local coffee shop in Toledo.The decor / atmosphere is right out of a 40's spooky movie,but not in a cheesy way. It was bright in the afternoon but I could picture the lights being turned now at night with some cool Sisters of Mercy tunes playing but that's my imagination. We both had a drink called Batboy's. It's an iced vanilla latte with a peanut butter cold foam. Delightful ! Not overly sweet either,you taste the peanut butter but it's not overwhelming. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Pricey but not any more than any other artesian coffee shop. They have plenty of baked goods,and other beverage options too for non coffee drinkers. I'm keeping this place in my back pocket for a potential date night. It's close to some other neat shops in Monroe, and it's proximity to the riverside park is excellent. Definitely coming back and recommending it.

I just can’t stop going back! I personally go back for the coffee, but know lots of people who prefer tea or the moon milks that love it there too. As a lactose intolerant person, having a nondairy option can be hard to find- it’s very appreciated! The rotating seasonal/theme menus keep things fun and the staff are all so nice. It’s a great experience every single time you walk in the door. Thank you for providing such a neat shop and merch! ❤

Nocturnal is a beautiful and immersive Gothic inspired coffee shop that's perfect for horror lovers, weirdos, and darkly inclined folks alike. Since they've opened, my boyfriend and I have been going here at least twice a week and have replaced going anywhere else for coffee. Not only do they use locally sourced milk, but their syrups and whipped cream are made in-house and you can tell by how high quality and delicious each of their drinks are. One of my favorites right now is The Bone Carver from their summer menu. The coconut whipped cream is amazing! We also love the Midnight Dreary and Modern Prometheus tonics. The owners and staff are always so nice and welcoming. I can't recommend this place enough!

I cannot wait express enough my love for this place! Between the atmosphere, the drinks, and unique events held here, Nocturnal is one of the staples that make Monroe worth coming to!

Stopped in during a recent visit to Monroe. What a fantastic addition to the downtown area. This place was sorely needed. It's so nice to have a place to hang out and socialize at night that isn't a bar. The coffee is really great too. We had a cinnamon honey latte and Sleepy Hollow moon milk. Both were fantastic. The latte was probably some of the best coffee I've had anywhere in a while. The interior is very eclectic and the staff is super friendly. The place was pretty packed when we visited, but our coffee came out pretty quickly. Support this place.

The best spooky, gothic coffee shop. The atmosphere and vibe alone in this space is enough to make me go almost everyday they’re open. Such a nice addition to downtown monroe, I don’t drink coffee and they have so many good options. Whether taking to go or sitting in to chill and do homework, this is my favorite spot. The Chi Tea Latte is my absolute favorite. Can’t say enough good things about this place and its owners!

Finally got the chance to stop in during the open air market. I'm so glad I did, and am so happy that there are sugar free options. I had a delicious iced latte with the SF vanilla bean. The environment is welcoming and comforting.

I’ve been twice now and plan to come back often! I come out from the woodhaven area to enjoy this place! My exact vibe, love the atmosphere. The sleepy hollow moon milk and the hot vanilla bean espresso latte are my favorites so far! Unique and perfect atmosphere. My only wish would be more seating if they could somehow expand/open up the “venue” area they have in the second room, to have more quiet space. The staff is super helpful and kind. I love the dishes and glasses as well! Haven’t tried their pastries yet but they look delicious. I wish they had a flight option so you could try a bunch of things at once lol. Can’t wait to visit again!

I love this cafe! I’ve been twice now and tried different food, drinks, and sweet treats and everything has been amazing. My preschooler keeps asking to co back to the spooky restaurant, so she loved it too!

Such an awesome addition to our town and beyond! Nocturnal catches your attention from the outside, and stepping inside brings such an awe. The attention to detail is superb, and everywhere you look there is something that adds to the aesthetic. It feels cozy and warming all at once, with just enough of a dark side to capture your spirit. Once you reach the counter, a friendly, knowledgeable person can help with any questions you have about the menu. For me, I was beyond ecstatic to see caffeine free options at a coffee shop. With limited options due to dietary and allergy needs, I found myself facing options of things I could have. This delighted me beyond belief as it’s such a rare occurrence. Things are fresh made, and again that attention to detail more than pays off. My husband enjoyed grabbing a coffee, and I enjoyed a Midnight Dreary during their opening event. The blueberries and blackberries brought together made a mouth happy, and I’m looking forward to trying a Moon Milk option in the future. I also can’t let it be missed that they have libraries, both for adults and kids, loaded with books to wander through. Whether you’re looking for a space to read and relax, or space to visit and enjoy conversation, there is space for everyone. The menu is also inclusive and welcoming, with thoughtful options for so many. Welcome to Monroe.

Nocturnal is exactly what we need in the area. A coffee shop with some personality. The coffee and drinks are great. The atmosphere is so inviting that you just want to unwind and relax. The staff are warm and welcoming and are clearly excited to be here. I can see Nocturnal becoming a “must stop” for my family and friends.

And if you don’t know what to try, the Sleepy Hollow Moon Milk is absolute perfection!

Atmosphere is wonderful, a hidden gem in Monroe. I got the Modern Prometheus and a Chai Latte, and both were delicious. Staff was very friendly and drinks came out fast even though they were crazy busy.
