Had such a great experience here last night! Everything was just great, service, food, and ambience! Will definitely come back soon! My husband says it's really authentic , he used to live in Japan so it's hard to find an authentic Japanese Restaurant, finally found our new favorite spot❤it is a bit far from our place but it is worth the drive!

Great Japanese food in a great space. We had an assortment of yakitori that brought me right back to the yokocho yakitori I used to stumble into in Tokyo. Fantastic char on all the skewers we got, plus they actually offer gizzards, heart and liver which is often hard to find. Karaage was delicious. Had a batter that stuck well and wasn't over fried. Chicken was perfectly cooked inside the batter. Sashimi was fantastically cut and presented. All very fresh and with generous portions. Building has a great patio and a spacious interior. Staff was attentive, kind and quick despite how many tables they had sat. Ultimately, a great spot that I truly was not expecting off of Parmer. This has become my newest neighborhood Japanese place.

Perfect place for Japanese food. Spectacular sushi, delicious yakitori (like the grilled chicken skewers), and Sapporo on tap. What more could you want?

Don’t miss the house salad with the miso dressing. If it weren’t rude, I would have licked the bowl.

So happy we found this little GEM! Only been here once but we will absolutely be back.

Best takoyaki in town!! Tastes just like Japan.
Sushi rolls are amazing. The fish tastes very fresh. My favorite is definitely the Alaska roll.
The ambiance is awesome. Very large menu, can’t wait to try more things. We love everything we ordered this round.

They have an awesome weekday lunch special including bento boxes!

Best sushi rice in Austin - I finally found the spot and it’s at Miyo! Coming from CA, I’ve been super disappointed by all the sushi spots I’ve tried (except for Uroko, they’re also on point). I always opt for traditional items at sushi spots - sashimi, nigiri and maki rolls. These items will tell you if the fish and the sushi rice is any good. And trust me, not all sushi places do the simple stuff well (others will cover low quality ingredients with tons of sauces). Staff was extremely kind and attentive to our dog - we sat out on the patio and she brought our dog a water bowl. The service is incredible. I enjoy dining in peace and this place is spot on! Our waitress gave us the perfect amount of privacy and attention, letting us enjoy our dinner and company in peace but was always there when we needed something. We had a great chat about my terrible sushi rice experience in Austin. We also had a ramen combo that came with gyoza. The broth was light but full of flavor, and the noodles were cool to perfection - soft but still maintain its bouncy texture. I raved about the noodle texture and the rice and insist that she shares the feedback with the chef. She recommended some other simple dishes that highlights the rice and I’m thrilled to come back again soon! Thank you Miyo for becoming my go to spot for delicious and affordable sushi! Will take pics next time (it was so good, we couldn’t wait to dig in!)

Amazing food, great service, and good vibe! The food was great, with good portions for the price. Everything we ordered came out fast and our server was so nice. Highly recommend the garlic edamame (I'm still thinking about it) and chicken fried rice!

The food was amazing. This place was super busy on a Saturday night, but they got us in within 30 minutes or so. Inside is smaller but with a larger patio outside. It's really a nice atmosphere.
We celebrated my mum in law's birthday and we enjoyed the meal. My husband loves sukiyaki, and there are not many places where you get that. Overall, everything we had was good. Can't wait to go back again.

I was pleasantly surprised and I can’t recommend this place enough. It is really hard to get a decent Japanese curry around here in Austin and Miyo knocked it out of the park with their Chicken Katsu Curry. The chicken was juicy with an incredibly crispy crust that paired so damn well with the thick curry. A must have appetizer I’ll highly recommend is the Takoyaki. It came with 4 takoyaki balls, perfectly fried with the cheesiest and creamiest interior I have ever tried. It was so good it rivaled some of the Takoyakis I have tried in SF Japantown - that says something. The generous sprinkling of bonito flakes took it to the next level. Lastly, the Sukiyaki was incredibly too - especially the hotpot soup base. They didn’t skimp on the texture, it isn’t watered down unlike other places. It was thick and a perfect balance of sweet and umami. The glass noodles were my favorites among other things.

The entrees can be easily shared between two people and expect to spend about $16-$18 per entree. Appetizers are under $10 mostly. We might try the sashimis and sushis next time. With an appetizer and 1 entree per person, expect to spend about $60 for two without the drinks.

Plenty of parking and nice patio seating for when it’s warm out. The wait times are average on busy nights. A little understaffed just like any other place in Austin. Definitely check it out.

The freshest sushi in all of Austin. A great place for casual dining with excellent service. The staff is friendly and I like the cozy atmosphere. They have several authentic Japanese dishes and yakitori, perfect for snacking.

Miyo Yakitori & Sushi is a new favorite sushi restaurant, right off Parmer near Apple and on the ground floor of the Artisan community. Cool restaurant on the inside and a good patio space too. The garlic brussel sprouts were great as was the chicken karaage for appetizers. I then enjoyed the Philadelphia roll. Satisfied my craving! Thanks Miyo!!

Went with my wife and a friend based on a recommendation from a coworker. I had been looking for a place that had Japanese style curry, and this place didn't disappoint! My wife got the pan fried gyoza and the Dragon Roll - she loved them as well. Food came out quick, hot and fresh. We will be back to try more of the menu in the very near future.

Hands down the best sushi in Austin. Traveled to Japan less than a year ago and this is on par with my Japan experience. Fish is tender, fresh and tasty. All the employees are kind, welcoming and attentive. The bluefin o-toro is something else entirely, it's a must for splurging!

Great place for Japanese food. Portion sizes are pretty big. As a solo dinner the karage appetizer is a meal, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is excellent.

I tried all of the yakitori and everything was very good! I tried some appetizers too from their kitchen and their sushi bar, and everything so lovely.
Really commended place to chill out with cold sake ❤

An unexpected gem in the northern parts of Austin. We sampled the yakitori, sushi and entrees. Highly recommend. Service was prompt and the food was consistently tasty. Generous portions. We had no delays in service. We will definitely come back.

My wife and I decided to try Miyo Yakitori & Sushi for our date night dinner place. Being Friday night, the place was fairly busy but we got seated within 15 min. We started up with Veggie Tempura followed by Fuji Roll (Crab/avocado inside topped with Eel and Salmon) and Miyo Combo (6 PCs of chef's choice sushi, 1 Salmon roll which is my choice of house roll, 1 Spicy Tuna Temaki and Miso soup). The veggie tempura was excellent; the light batter did not overpower but highlighted the veggie flavors. The rolls had a very nice consistency where the layer of rice that wrapped the seafood, in addition to being well seasoned, was not too compressed or too sticky. The 6 pieces of chef's choice Sushi were also excellent with "just right" consistency of rice that did not fall apart while eating and the fish on top were firm and shiny. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
