Catacomb 435

Fantastic experience - small and intimate inside with an air of secrecy. We sat at the bar and watched the drinks being made and chatted with the bartenders, who were both awesome! Every drink was unique and yummy and we learned some things too. We will definitely be back! Note - those with asthma should be aware that although the bar is nonsmoking, they do light things on fire and add smoke to drinks so it does have a smokey atmosphere.

I honestly don't know what to say about this place other than it is truly truly amazing. It makes me a little bit mad that getting drinks from here has basically ruined my pallet for all other simply poor drinks at bars. I now crave more subtlety and more everything these drinks are extra like undescribable. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make reservations and fly here from DC at least once or twice a year. They even do mocktails so you can bring your friends that don't drink. I don't think you can get a better bar experience without owning a giant yacht or something like that.

Morgan was amazing! Every time we go, we discover a new drink, flavor, or spirit that we haven't tried before. You know that scene in Ratatouille where the mouse person eats the cheese and the grape and discovers how different flavors complement one another? That's every night at Catacomb 435. Highly recommend.

Literally art. Best espresso martini I’ve ever had. Amazing performance from the bartenders. Engaging. They take the craft seriously and make beautiful drinks that taste better and outclass e wry cocktail bar I have ever visited. Definitely worth checking out.

Very unique and memorable experience. Haven’t had anything quite like this before, and it was wonderful. You pick a spirit base and a few categories and the bartender truly creates a personalized cocktail for you.

Reservation required! It’s small and intimate. The only issue I had was that it can get quite loud in there. I wish the guests were respectful of the other guests trying to have a romantic evening.

I’ve been twice now and this second visit was better all around. This second time, the staff took the time to explain to you how they plan to make your drink and asked questions to make the drink something you personally would enjoy. The service was excellent and so were the drinks. The drinks are expensive, but worth the effort that’s put into making them. I’d recommend stopping in for a couple drinks before heading somewhere else to eat/drink downtown. It’s a great way to start off a night.

Very cute and cozy. The drinks were absolutely wonderful. The bartenders were very experienced and created unique and delicious cocktails.

I’ve been looking forward to Downtown Huntsville getting a legit speakeasy and this is definitely it! It’s complete with a call box hidden in plain sight that requires a password to get in and everything!

Highly recommend making reservations a week or more out as it can fill up. The reservation time slots are for up to two hours. You must make a reservation to receive the password to gain entry. They will email this the day of, usually by 5pm at the latest. It will contain all the instructions you need. This can be done on their website.

The bar itself was downstairs in the basement with a dimly lit, chill vibe. The were playing cool old movies on the tvs which really set the atmosphere. The music choice however was not quite what I expected.

We were given a piece of paper to select our spirit of choice and two flavor profiles. The bartender then hand crafted our drinks based on these. This is exactly what I’m looking for at a speakeasy! The drinks were all unique and super good.

This was something special for me as a whisk(e)y lover. It is not really a whiskey bar... but it can be. I really enjoyed the experience. Also, the mystery and all the secretnes that goes into getting there really works into the advantage of the experience.

We absolutely loved everything about Catacomb435. The experience, atmosphere, aroma, decor and bartenders were amazing! The drinks were the best I’ve ever had. There is so much thought and creativity put into making the drinks. I seriously feel that the bartenders are truly artists. We can’t wait to go back because we had such a great time!

Literally one of the best “hidden” places in Huntsville.

It is best to make a reservation and come with an open mind to try new things :) When you sit down you are given a sheet of paper where you choose 2 adjectives to describe the type of drink you would like, plus a base. The adjectives are words such as “sweet,” “Smokey,” “fruity,” etc. The base is the alcohol such as rum, whiskey, etc. You could choose the same adjectives and base and get a different drink each time.

Whenever I go, I love getting a mocktail and writing “surprise me” on my paper :) I have never once been disappointed.

The drinks can get quite pricy depending on the ingredients they use. Overall, great for a date night and a really fun experience!

By far one of my favorite experiences in Huntsville so far! We loved every aspect of it. Swanky, fun, unique atmosphere. The bartenders/mixologists absolutely add to the experience! Liz was so friendly & welcoming :) And Matt created beautifully crafted drinks! Fun personality, too! We loved how he explained each creation ( his passion for his job is apparent & appreciated)~ We'll be back!

My husband and I went on a Friday night. We were buzzed in promptly & our instructions were easy to understand. The bartenders were EVERYTHING! They knew exactly what to pair together to make the perfect drink. They were both very friendly, service was prompt (they came around about every 15-20 minutes) & the drinks were phenomenal. My favorite line of the night "we don't serve our tequila with salt & lime because we have GOOD tequila" 10 stars! Will definitely be back.

No food was served other than the orange with cinnamon, but that was amazing and worth 5 stars on its own. If I could give more stars, I would. Cannot wait to go again. Amazing experience, wonderful atmosphere, phenomenal mixologists!

Great experience in Huntsville. The ambiance and environment are unmatched. The cocktails are excellent and custom tailored to your tastes. The mixologists are able to help out if you cant decide on something and there was not a single person in our group that didn’t completely enjoy the drinks and experience.

From the sounds of low reviews people were expecting more a standard bar but this is a craft cocktail experience and you get what you pay for! Cant recommend enough.

Matt (aka Sir Mix-A-Lot) was a great bartender and server. It was such a cool atmosphere. Each drink served is a double, so you definitely get you money’s worth. the vibe was immaculate and makes you feel special. I loved the initiate seating and the ambiance. You pick a spirit and 2 flavors, but the bartender will make your drink based on your personality/vibe and he is extremely accurate. Such a fun time and will be back!! @matt you can’t get rid of us lol

We rented the whole place out for a birthday bash and had a great time. It's pricey and maybe a bit boujie for some, but if you want a unique and memorable experience, you should treat yourself. Go with an open mind. The drink order system is 1. pick a spirit (including mocktail options), 2. pick two flavor profiles, and 3. trust the bartenders. Can't stress #3 enough. If you don't like what they bring you, you probably aren't getting a refund. Picky drinkers need not apply.
