Are you looking for a great place to shop for local, fresh produce and artisan-made products? Look no further than the Greene Street Market!

The Greene Street Market is held every Thursday from May to October, and it is chocked full of new and exciting things to look at.

What Can I Find at the Greene Street Market?

Produce

The market has a little bit of everything. There are a few vendors who sell produce that comes straight from their farms. Early in the season, the market is filled with people seeking fresh strawberries - a fruit that is ready early in the harvesting season. As the season goes on, the focus shifts to melons, tomatoes, corn, apples, and even pumpkins!

Prepared Foods

There is also a great chance to purchase foods that have already been prepared by others when you visit the Greene Street Market. If you are interested in canned goods - take a look!

The bread and butter pickles at the ‘The Mason Jar’ have a special place in mine and my family’s heart.

There are also vendors who sell pastries, like fresh baked bread and cinnamon rolls, as well as sweet treats like mini pies.

You can also find food trucks, usually located at the very end! You can grab a freshly squeezed lemonade or a fried meal from one of the food trucks to snack on while you shop.

Meat

There is even the chance to purchase meat at the Market!

Beauty and Skincare

The market also has several vendors who sell naturally made soaps and lotions. Many of which feature goats milk.

Literally Everything Else

If you can think of it, Greene Street probably has someone who comes by to sell it. They may not be there every week, but they’ll be there occasionally.

From pet treats and products (the sales of which benefit pet rescue), to wooden signs, to metal outdoor statues, to fresh cut flowers, to jewelry, there’s something there for everyone.

There is even a vendor who sells a variety of food grade mushroom products called ‘Fungalicious.’

With a variety of vendors and new ones coming in all of the time, there is always something new and exciting to check out.

Many nice vendors, from fresh products, food, to jewelry, beauty products. Public parking is right in front of the market, $1/2 hours (card+coin only)

So the Market was great. Awesome local vendors peddling their commodities and merchandise. Very laid back atmosphere with just some down home great people. If you haven't been, you need to check it out. Oh, and the red & white baskets of strawberries....buy them! You can thank me later!!!!

Does this market still double the EBT you plan to spend in the market?

I love this market. i go every week and pick up some Hippea Camper or Rockabilly Bakery plant-based food. All the other stalls are packed full of yummy produce and trinkets. The people are nice and during non-covid times, it was so nice to hang out and listen to live music there on a breezy fall day.

Large Farmer's market with a wide variety.
The market is dog-friendly. Lots of seasonal fruits and veggies and meats, some bread and gluten-free products. There are a few vendors that offer prepared wholesome meals. Also some personal care products and high quality crafts. Everyone is very friendly!

It was a beautiful day for opening day! There were so many vendors. Nicole's sugary-sweet Boutique was hands-down amazing! I bought some bagels and a pretzel from the Canadian Bakery it was really good too. They had two food trucks there. At least to meat stands, and goat cheese, lots of vegetables, oils, and smells.

Heirloom tomatoes, fresh fruits and veggies, locally roasted coffee - if you're lucky, you can watch a card trick or two! Music, crafts, pickles and preserves. Stop by and see! My favorite is pickled okra. Also, there is a place to buy market cash with your debit card if you don't bring cash. Some vendors accept debit and credit cards themselves. Oh yes, there's meat! And plants, and lavender... Just stop by, you'll be glad you did.

Our family decided to visit the Greene Street Farmers Market in Downtown Huntsville, AL. It was sprinkling out but there was still a lot of people. We purchased fresh peaches, a pound of specialty mushrooms, and hand made soft pretzels. There was plenty of variety and this market is popular. There is plenty of parking within walking distance.

It's always a pleasure to visit the market and enjoy the calm and relaxing atmosphere. Most vendors have organic and heirloom varieties in their selection of produce. There are even grass-fed/finished beef selections. I would love to see it expand, but it seems it not very possible within the designated area. Parking can be a hassle at times as well. We often walk there since we live in five points though :)

Lots of vendors with a huge variety of things to buy. In season there will be lots of fruits & veggies. Now there's cheese, meats, dairy, spinach, lettuce, greens, soaps, candles, jewelry, etc. Sandwiches, & play area with hula hoops for the kids. Great place to go!

So glad they didn't label this a flea market! Surprising how popular this event is...a LOT of people show up and browse and attend the little side events (hoola hooping, frisbee, et.). Always quality produce and fine crafts available to peruse. Very relaxed and kind of eclectic...all sorts of folks. Parking is very convenient. A good place to bring a blanket and people watch if so inclined.

The best market I have found in the greater Huntsville area! Plenty of vendors, very well run , friendly people, and great music and great food all located right in the downtown area- which is convenient in case you want to walk somewhere ( all the downtown restaurants and pubs are right around the corner ) after or before

Greene Street Farmers Market is our favorite in the Huntsville area. Not only do they have a variety of produce, meat and made foods, they also have various artisans, hula hoops, and wonderful musical entertainment! My kids always get a popsicle from Suzy's, along with samples, and usually some kettle corn on the way out.

One of the best events in Huntsville. Located in a church parking lot in the heart of downtown, Greene Street Market features local crafts and food and produce. Go buy some of Layne's pickles, or Jimmy's tomatoes, or gluten free baked goods from Mason Dixon. And you can stop by a local craft beer place and get a purple cup to go. Greene Street is inside the Quigley Arts and Entertainment District where its legal to have open adult beverage.
