Lick It BBQ & Wood Fire Pizza

Visited Hawks Cay Resort two years in a row with the family and I wish this place was here last year. Beautiful setting, reasonably priced and delicious food.
We ordered a pizza which was great because of the quality dough. Also had the snapper fish sandwich with tail and it was excellent. The highlight was the fish fingers that were some of the best we've ever had and both our 2 and 4 year old ate them too asking for more.
Raul runs the place and is a great host, he took pictures of our family as we arrived and later while watching the sunset. We liked it so much we're going back for lunch on the way out of town!

Stopped by on a whim, absolutely glad we did! Super cute BBQ nestled in an old Keys motel. Super friendly staff, food was literally the best food we had all weekend, views CANNOT be matched.

1000% coming back here in our next trip. We ordered the pork belly tacos, cooked perfectly 👌 and loaded fries with BBQ chicken that were so good, my wife REFUSED to share! We can’t wait to come back.

Being from Texas I'm always on the lookout for good BBQ. Decided to try Lick It BBQ on the way back from Key West because of the pictures we saw online and they didnt do this place justice. Their setup is amazing. Plenty of covered outdoor seating with an ocean view. We ate lunch but I bet the sunset views are incredible. Its a bit tough to spot off the highway, so i reccomend using google maps so you dont miss it. We tried the brisket, smoked fried pork belly, tostones, maduros, pinapple slaw, yucca fries and my son had a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was great! Crisp crust with plenty of toppings. The smoked fried pork belly was different than any pork belly ive had before. Didnt wow me but was very tasty with the sauce they were tossed in. Sides were all pretty good. Pineapple slaw was outstanding. Working on replicating it at home. The yucca fries and maduros were ok, as were the tostones. The green sauce that came with the tostones was delicious! I was a bit let down by the brisket though. In Texas we judge a place by its brisket and this just fell a bit short. It was tender but a tad dry and lacked the flavorful crust from the rub that im used to. However their delicious Guava BBQ sauce came to the rescue and made it edible. The Guava BBQ sauce was one of my favorite bites from our entire trip. They dont sell it by the bottle but they should. Overall, great spot, great view, great set up, staff was friendly and accomodating. The food is reasonably priced. If you're traveling through the keys and desire some BBQ or pizza this is a great spot to stop and enjoy the scenery.

We saw a Facebook post about a pig roast on Sunday so we drive down from Islamorada with the kids! So glad we did! Fantastic BBQ nestled in an old Keys lodge on the water. Raul and his friendly staff were taking group pictures for us and bringing us our meals to the table, the food was literally excellent, we went at their busiest time on a Sunday at 2 pm! And please understand this is not a huge restaurant, they advise that the food can take 20-30
Minutes especially if ordering pizza. We had some beers, Jupina, and the kids definitely ate all their food so they could have some of the famous soft ice cream.

100% coming back to Lick It on the next trip south in the keys .

We ordered the mahi blackened tacos which were #1, cooked perfectly 👌 and cheesesteak pizza, and pork sandwich and a double cheeseburger.

Our wife’s had Prosecco and had beer, the kids had waters. Overall it was a perfect afternoon and we couldn’t beat the price and view! The people watching was amazing too !

The best!!! The best BBQ. The best pizza. The best service. Pizza super fast cooked in a wood burning oven. Delicious crust. They offer a veggie pizza, not on the menu. Sandwiches are huge and tasty. They have beer and maybe a sparkling wine. Not to be missed (but if you do miss the turn off because it sits down a bank - turn around. You won’t be sorry.)

Haven't eaten in too many places at the Keys but, Lick it definitely deserves its reputation. We ordered the garlic hog fish w rice/beans, fries and cheese pizza but, I would love the recipe for that hog fish, we definitely plan on coming back. Highly recommend.

Just had some ice cream, really delicious ice cream! The smell of the food is mouthwatering! And the staff is very kind and friendly! They got plenty nice shaded seats, and a very nice ambiance!

Fun concept, DELICIOUS food and beautiful setting… definitely should try in the Keys!!! We tried the “smashed burger”, “fish burger”, bbq pizza and ribs… YUM

What a great lunch! Attentive, friendly service. Cool tiki hut outdoor dininig with great views of Long Key bridge and the Gulf of Mexico.
For lunch shrimp tacos and Cuban sandwiches. We ordered pulled pork and brisket for our to go dinner

Lick It BBQ PIZZA is a great place to stop by for quick bites. The atmosphere is great you sitting right by the ocean view. The food is not cheap though very expensive. The service is OK it's a family-run business. View 5 Food price 10 Atmosphere 10. Go give them a try this place is before the 7-mile bridge and you won't be disappointed.

Placed an order to go… I had the pulled pork tacos… omgosh they were delicious!! The wait was a little long and staff didn’t really speak much English but it was worth it.

Yes! Finally! The Florida Keys were long overdue for an outstanding beach bbq venue and “Lick It” delivers! Preparing proper smoked meat is no easy task, particularly on an island, even more so in the middle keys. This crew is well versed in Texas style brisket, but also offers excellent smoked chicken, pork, and a broad range of other delicious creations. The Cuban influence provides for classic sides like Moro and fried yuca, and you can’t miss “whole hog” Sunday. The view from edge water lodge simply can’t be beat - the ideal water front Florida Keys dining experience. The pan con lechon was outstanding, and I’m eager to return for some pizza. Truly impressive beach bbq awaits you!

WOW! What a hidden gem. Don't fly by, thinking it is just a food truck. Because it is NOT! Full menu and very nice seating area in the shade with fans.

We had the half smoke chicken with corn and fries and the brisket tacos with rice side. No complaints! YUM!

We had an amazing dinner! Pleasantly surprised at everything we tried. Burnt ends, yucca, fish tacos, smash burger & pizza with honey…. Who knew? Friendly & efficient staff, beautiful views sitting outside on the water. We’ll definitely be back!

Best tacos in the Keys! This is a great spot with the freshest, most delicious tacos. The Conch Fritters are the best I've ever had. The service is fantastic too. I highly recommend stopping here if you ever have the opportunity!

Absolutely amazing service, especially from “Raul the Columbian”. He immediately made us feel welcome and explained the menu to us. After figuring out what we wanted and ordering, we found a lovely table by the water. Raul then found us again and took some pictures of our family. The food was served before we knew it, the meals were delicious and very filling. Overall fantastic experience!

Best meal I've had in the keys by far. Had the smoked brisket and conch fritters and I was incredibly satisfied. Along with the great service and a perfect view of the ocean! Highly recommend

My brother, his girlfriend and I were looking to eat somewhere down here that we hadn't been before. Our extended family have an annual trip to Marathon every year and we were able to come this year; it had been about 12 years since we could make the trip. My brother got an ad for this place on his phone so we decided to check it out. When we first arrived, we spoke to a member of the staff, and told him we had never been before. He took the time to go over the whole menu with us, make suggestions, and let us know if there was anything they were low on/out of (we showed up late into the day). We ordered our food; I got the BBQ pork pizza, my brother got the smoked chicken and smoked pork butt, and his girlfriend got the philly cheesesteak. We got our food pretty quickly, about 10-15 minutes after ordering. The smoked meats were fantastic, nice and tender. The pizza and cheesesteak were awesome as well, cooked to perfection. All the food was so good we had to try each other's food and it all was incredible. To top it off was their guava BBQ sauce, which had a really nice sweetness to it with a subtle kick to really make the flavor pop. I liked the sauce so much I bought a bottle of it to take back home with me. Afterwards we ordered the churros with ice cream and they had the perfect amount of crisp and flakiness to them.

But it wasn't the food alone that made this experience so memorable. The staff checked on us consistently, and really seemed to care about not only the food being to our liking, but the atmosphere, and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. My brother and I played a couple of games of cornhole with some guys staying at the hotel in the same location and had a blast. One of the staff members would even come by and watch the game momentarily and help translate for us (our opponents' first language was Spanish and they only knew a little English) to help explain the rules and keep score.

I won't ever forget eating here. The food, the atmosphere, the awesome staff, all of these things came together for one of the best dining experiences I have had in a while. Every time I am back down here (we're from TN), I will make it a point to pay these guys a visit.
