The Keuka Outlet trail is a beautiful and adventurous trail that connects the Keuka and Seneca lakes. We rented e-bikes since we had only 2 hours to complete the 14 miles (7 miles each way). It had just rained before we started and the trek was muddy and we were covered in mud by the end of the biking trip (wear boots and jackets if you are in a similar situation). But the trail barely had people because of this and we had a great time. The Seneca falls and Cascade falls are both gorgeous and have to be the prettiest spots. You continuously bike around the outlet stream and get to see many species of birds and flowers. Bug spray is helpful too as there are lots of mosquitoes. If you want to view the Seneca or Keuka lakes on either side, be prepared to ride for a little while longer after the trail ends. There are several portable restrooms available all through the trail. Well maintained trail and I would highly recommend to hike/bike it.

Easy trail for bikes and walkers, with beautiful views of two waterfalls. We rode from Seneca Lake to the Keuka Outlet and back just to make 15 miles round trip.

7-mile, easy hiking trail full of local history and waterfalls.
Part of this trail is maintained by the Village of Penn Yan, the rest is maintained by the Friends of the Outlet. Within the village, the trail boasts 3 playgrounds and numerous bridges that allow hikers to cross the water. The trail is also well-maintained blacktop for easy walking. My favorite part is walking past Burkett Mills, the oldest, continuously operating buckwheat mill in the country.
Once hikers pass the outskirts of the Village, the trail turns to stone and winds along the stream. This 6.5 mile portion displays the old mills, waterfalls, and nature. There are a few gentle hills but nothing extreme.
The kids and I prefer to enjoy the Keuka Outlet Trail by foot during the winter, and with them biking and me running during the summer. Definitely bring a camera along for peaceful pictures and lovely memories.

Great trail. Lots of trash around it on the banks from the houses above.

Great trail, but go to the park ( see pics) or access is down a flight of stairs. Lots to see and looks like a good place to kayak, too. We rode out of town, but want to explore towards town. Derelict building and some trash, but classic finger lakes scene. Cool bridges to ride and go under.

We had a great time! However people need to keep their animals on leashes at all times. I mean it is the law.

Wonderful shaded trail along the river that flows into Seneca lake. There are no "outlet" stores or shops. It' is downhill to Lake Senaca and coming back to PenYan only has a few little hills. It's around 7 miles long. Bring a snack and sit on the bench overlooking lake Seneca which is the eastern end of trail.

The trail is clean and well maintained. Lush greenery and beautiful river views throughout. Interesting historic mills and waterfalls along the way. We rode our bikes from Penn Yan and ate at Trails End diner in Dresden. Turn left at the trail head to get there. It's listed as a 7 mile trail but it's really only 5.
