Five Star review **As a new pet parent, I knew something was wrong but had no idea what it could be. Being limited on funds (and knowledge) I reached out to Doctor Raymond. Not only did he agree to see our girl the same day that we called but he kept the cost minimal while not compromising care. Within a few days, my girl was back to her normal self. I would highly recommend Placerville Animal Surgery Center to all my family and friends. Thank you Dr. Raymond!!

This is the best veterinarian clinic. Dr. Raymond is amazing and the staff is great. I took my miniature poodle here for a second opinion on a mass that was growing on his eyelid. His original vet that he had been going to for 9 years said he needed an extensive surgery that would cost several thousand dollars. Dr. Raymond did a non invasive laser removal of the mass for less than $300. My dog had a great recovery and all is going good. I have changed vets to Dr. Raymond because of the excellent care and affordable prices. Thanks to all!

My dog had two masses that were precancerous. They accommodated surgery quickly, with amazing care and at an incredible price. The surgery
sutures were very clean and healed quickly. An hour drive for me to get here, but well worth it!

If you’re looking for a team that truly cares about your animal from start to finish this is the place. Took my mini goldendoodle here to be neutered after getting quoted over $1,000 at our vet. From check in the team here was extremely compassionate and so knowledgeable. They also have a text line that I was able to send pictures during the post op recovery at home to make sure he was healing correctly. Overall amazing service and the best staff. Thank you Placerville Animal Surgery Center for providing amazing service and great prices for our fur babies!

Five stars for Dr. Raymond and staff!

That old time country doctor work ethic is increasingly rare these days. So much so that We drive from Sacramento to Placerville for the high quality of care provided by Placerville Animal Surgery Center.

Recently Dr. Raymond performed surgery on our 9+ year old Chihuahua for her breast cancer; Operation successful!

She seems more energetic already, and she still has a stitch or two in! We still need to go in for our follow up and have those removed, but this five star review is not premature.

Above even the world class care Dr. Raymond provides, we value his honesty.

He is not going to upsell you to make money, and if his opinion is that a procedure is not ideal for that animal - taking into consideration procedural rates of success, age, health and other variables - he will advise against that procedure.

I've had two rescue dogs get surgery here and it's always been a positive experience. It's the quickest way to get affordable spay/neuters! I drive from Sacramento and it's really worth it.

Placerville Surgery Center has exceeded my expectations. I was quoted an astronomical amount of money for a dental with extractions from 2 different vets in Sacramento. Placerville Surgery Center’s price was a tenth of what the other vets were charging. Everyone in the office is extremely kind & clearly have a deep love for animals. I am so thankful for the service they provide!

If your pet needs a life saving emergency surgery, please don't go anywhere else. From the staff, communication , Dr. costs, this place was nothing short of AMAZING !!! My Gracie, swallowed some sort of seed while I was on vacation and my parents were doggy sitting.

Her spirit started to decline and I originally took her VCA in Rancho Cordova. I have pet insurance for her, but that place was truly extorting money for services. They even suggested to euthanizing her (Absolutely Not !) I ended up taking her home to figure things out.

I called around and someone suggested surgery center in Placerville . The staff was so helpful, and communicative about the documents for their diagnosis and to see if the surgery was something they could do. I immediately sent all of her paperwork and they were able to squeeze her in the next day. OMG, I wanted to cry ! I am so happy I had her surgery completed here. It was very fast I took her home the same day. The consult was $20 and I paid for surgery costs separately , all medication was $20 , but had to pay another $20 for the antibiotics, (which was not a big deal.)

They are only open every other Tuesday and Wed-Fri , so cll them if you know your pet is having some kind of emergency that requires surgery.

I recently brought my two dogs here, both 11 for dental cleaning/extractions. I knew they needed multiple teeth extracted but typical vet costs for a teeth cleaning held me back from getting it done sooner. I can’t thank Placerville Animal Surgery Center enough. My girls had terrible smelling breath and day of with the teeth out it was gone. They were also able to remove a skin growth from one of my dogs at the same time as her teeth cleaning. The cost for the cleaning, anesthesia, and medication was less than the echo the vet was requiring before the expensive teeth cleaning. On top of that the staff was so friendly! Highly recommend coming here for dental or surgical needs for your pets!

I cannot recommend Placerville Animal Surgery Center enough. I have been fortunate enough to not have been faced with animal surgery ever. That is until this week. My sweet boy Clark ended up with a bladder blockage. The vet local to me gave him excellent care, but when it came to surgery time, it was going to be $4000. I expressed my concern for that amount, and the next word I heard was euthanasia. I went blank. The thought was unimaginable for me. As I was going in a downward spiral, a friend recommended Placerville Animal Surgery Center. I immediately gave them a call and spoke to Gabby who is the owner of the surgery center. She told me that the same surgery would be $950. at her clinic. I literally felt as if I had just won the lottery. There was suddenly a bright light overshadowing the desperation I felt.
This is not a “you get what you pay for “ situation either. Their vet techs and veterinarians are top-notch. They are extremely skilled in their field. It is clear that they truly love animals and are in the business of saving animals lives. In my opinion, they are all angels on earth. Thank you to Gabby and crew, I hope to not be back, but if I am, I know that my animals are in excellent hands.

January 2024 I took in my cat for a dental. She had a bad tooth. It was easy to check in, the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly.
My cat was in good condition when I picked her up and felt so much better the following morning. I will definitely go there with my other pets.

I have had great experiences with Placerville animal surgery center! They are cost effective, thoughtful, and they obviously care about the pets they see! I will definitely be back and I always recommend them to anyone who has animals in need!

This place is amazing .... my friend's dog suffered from Pyometra which can be fatal and every place we contacted for this surgery was anywhere from 4500.00 to 10,000.00 but we contacted these guys and they were considerably less.... thank you guys

Staff is very friendly and helpful. 100% recommended if you have a pet who needs dental work. Can't beat the price.
