As an actor here, I can say this is the best theater I have ever performed in. Their saying "where the stage comes to life" has never been more true.

We had our daughter’s party there today and we were so happy with having the perfect party! Dan was so accommodating and threw in a few surprises for everyone. If you’re looking for a party place, stop looking….it’s the Strand! Thank you Dan!

Had such a great time at comedy night! All three comedians had us laughing pretty steadily. The fact that the owner of The Strand is donating parts of proceeds to local schools arts programs is truly wonderful and a reason to go to any of the different shows they have. The week after we were there they were having a renowned Beatles tribute band! Definitely worth keeping an eye out for what is going on each weekend!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this theatre. My husband and I are known for adventures to small community theaters in New England. I am ranking this number 1! The community vibes, the outstanding hospitality from the gentleman with amazing shoes and hat, the dueling pianos, and the crowd! Clean restrooms, decent drink prices were a bonus! This theatre is only an hour from our Maine home! We might just become weekend regulars and support this fabulous theatre!

Saw Dracula here, presented by "break a leg legally". Theater is very historic and the management has done a great job of keeping Arts alive in dover. Really nice little venue.

My husband and I rented the Stand last November for our wedding reception and it was absolutely perfect! Dan and Melissa were dedicated to make our vision a reality and came up with really fun and creative ways to build off it. We wanted a fun relaxed party with simple consession foods, music, and use of the projector for our wedding ceremony video. Everything came together perfect and easy! The space is beautiful. The popcorn is seriously the best I’ve ever had. And the space is very reasonably priced and they do not price gouge you like most wedding venues! If you are looking for a non traditional location for a wedding ceremony, reception, or for any party, we highly recommend The Strand. We still have guests telling us it was the best wedding they ever attended!

I love coming to this place! The staff is so kind and the feel is authentic and real. It's a beautiful mix of the rich history and old-timey feel of the Strand with just the right touch of modern. It's got a ways to go before perfection, but every little bit, perfect or imperfect, are what makes the Strand such a unique and satisfying experience.

An absolutely beautiful theater. Very conscientious of the current economy. A non- profit than can always use community support to keep giving safe and fun entertainment! I've always had a fabulous time when I visit!

The Strand has been saved by a wonderful owner who enjoys entertainment. He has provided an ongoing venue that builds upon the previous year adding new types of entertainment to the Dover New Hampshire downtown City. Unique by its own Style, you'll see theater, comedy, old standard movies, dance classes, musicians and musicals offered to the Dover Community at a reasonable price. I love the Strand Theater.

Went to see a play that my friend was in (bless me father) and I was really happy with their covid rules and happy that they were open. Very clean, cool, and spacey. 10/10 would go back

A local passion project that has the potential to be a community and New England industry icon. The charm, and potential of this little gem of a theater (almost 100 years in the making) is being revived and renewed with heart and it deserves every chance to grow and contribute.
