What a wonderful, first-time visit! Looking forward to coming back. Great food, music and a super friendly staff made for a perfect day.

We were so impressed with the production of “Proof” that we saw yesterday! What a wonderful play, and the acting especially, but also set design, lighting, and sound - all were so professional! And of course, it doesn’t hurt to have fresh blueberry pie à la mode available at intermission, to eat out in the shade while watching the bison - what a great place!

Just saw little women and WOW! The actors, musicians and lighting crew were amazing!! The food was great too. If you’re going just know they don’t have AC so it can get hot. Seats were a bit uncomfortable though. It was also great seeing the bison and pigs as well! 5/5 would recommend.

Our visit to Hackmatack Playhouse on Aug 3, to see Proof was our third trip and we will keep coming back. It's impossible to describe the charm of the place, you just have to go and then you will know. The show was excellent and the cast perfect for their roles. Such an intimate performance and so well acted and produced. This place is run by people who really care about the arts and understand the unique, special nature of the venue they inherited. A true Gem - you have to go.

We recently went to Hackmatack for a wonderful evening. Not only did we enjoy "Into this The Woods," but we were so struck by the energy and enthusiasm of everyone we met from the young woman who was working at the box office to the current producers (grandsons of the founder).

This Maine farm, run by one family, is in the third generation of offering "Summer Stock" productions as well as concerts and other offerings. In this current age where we all spend too much time looking at a screen, it was so refreshing to be in a beautiful place, surrounded by nature, and enjoying live entertainment.

You can bring a picnic, you can enjoy beverages of all sorts (and local ice cream!), and you are encouraged to walk around the farm. We can not wait to return.

Saturday night at Hackmatack Playhouse was a dream. My wife and I had a terrific date night and we thoroughly enjoyed the bison jerky, perfect homemade blueberry pie, and the best ice cream ever -- plus an outstanding production. All are created from the efforts of the Guptill family. We appreciate all the work that goes into creating such wholesome and authentic experiences for our community and feel incredibly fortunate to have this in our town. I have memories of seeing the original Broadway production of "Into the Woods" (with childhood crush Bernadette Peters) when it opened. Their heartfelt production and stellar cast give the original a real run for its money. What a show! Keep up the fantastic work. I can't wait for the next production.

A charming barn turned into a theater that hosts a variety of events. They have a good beer selection, excellent ventilation in the summer & a wide variety of experiences offered on site. Absolutely worth checking out

Always a fun time to see local theater in an open barn (even when we are sweating in 95 degrees, or freezing in 58 degrees!). Living 10 minutes away, I have seen several shows at Hackmatack, including Les Mis, Tick Tick Boom, and Little Women. If you have extra time it's nice to wander the beautiful grounds and visit the animals. The concessions have some upscale offerings like homemade blueberry pie and ice cream from Rococo (the goat cheese blackberry Chambord was excellent!).

Im a local of many years, Ive attended a few of Hackmatacks Sunday Bluegrass socials, such a splendid way to start a Sunday.
-2nite I saw “Into The Woods” at Hackmatack; Opening Night.
Twas a Magical experience, such talent all concentrated onto that stage, i was captivated.. the timing was near spot on, the Orchestra too.
One must be “comfortable” with outdoor temps, this is in a Barn after all.
Just adds to the magic for me.

Great supporting your local farm. Bison are in back, so you can see your dinner. Bought some beets, haven't tried them yet.

What fun watching a classic comedy fairy tales story with odd dark humour in a old barn with mostly ME folks. Highly recommend

I haven't been to a play in years. This was very well done and the area was a pleasure to visit with Bysons, Pigs, etc. The acting was excellent!

Great place to see a local play/musical. They put on summer camps for kids which are great as well.

I attended my cousin's wedding here a few weeks ago and everything was beautiful. We got rainy weather, but there was enough room in the venue to seat everyone inside comfortably even though we planned on using the fire pit and spending more time outside during the wedding festivities. Would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding or any kind of fun party. :)

Wonderful musical! All three cast members were terrific! Pick your own seat was great! I tried a few before settling in. Beautiful smooth floors for walking, rest of threaten authentic barn! Can’t wait to go again! Great value!

Had the opportunity to see Tick, Tick, Boom on Friday night and WOW! The venue is amazing and the show was even better. The vocals of each thespian were powerful and spot on, and the overall experience was spectacular. Then, I wandered outside during intermission and saw... BISON! In Maine!! So glad I bought season tickets!
