Yesterday I went to renew my expired driver's license and to find out about the requirements for an electric bike. From the reception desk to the lady who renewed my license, the staff was friendly, and the lady who did my renewal was exceptionally helpful with my unexpected questions.

You need to know that the Church street location is permanently closed and moved. It’s hard to find information out there about this, so I still ended up driving there only to find it’s not there anymore. For Driver’s License, the next closest location is 7262 Governor’s West which is closer to bridge street and 565. If you just need your license plate registration or something other than drivers license, you can go to the place on 1918 Memorial Parkway. I ended up going to all 3 places because I didn’t know this Church Street location was permanently closed. Save yourself the trouble. Go to Governors West for your DL. I wish they had it all in one place so you don’t have to drive 8 miles across town.

This is the worst place by far to get anything done, including a simple 1 page fax sent. 1 hr. Anything a person does at this location regardless of having appointment or not is a minimum of 1hr.

A normal day is more like 2 hrs. Every year is worse and worse.

Getting a on road driving test appointment is disgraceful at this location. Went on line today 1 Sept. and could not get a test done till Oct. Really. Totally unexceptable. Have to go to Sheffield AL to get it done before Sept 26 and that was checking every place north of Birmingham. At least sheffield will do it in 7 to 10 days.

Not sure why this facility has not been up graded and added more staff, it has been the same since at least 1982. It needs to be seriously updated to meet the population explosion of this area.

If Madison and Huntsville can update their government facilities and personnel surely the state can.

Or elected officials need to get a wake up call and do something about this shameful location.

Literally the perfect example of how bad our DMV system is. This entire office is a waste of tax payer money. I’ve been trying to get these guys to answer the phone for 4 days (not including the weekend) and the phones ring endlessly or they are off hook. When they have answered in the past, they are incredibly rude. If they hate their jobs that much, they should just find new employment.

Lights out painfest all around. People even address tax-paying adults aggressively. If the city can’t influence this... Vote!

Just found out, after waiting 2 hours, that appt system has been down for long enough that only people with appts made months ago get in. All signs say “avoid line. Sched online” with link to broken system and no appts available in Q3.

All phones are busy throughout the day must take off hook or offline because no one picks up ever. Waste of taxpayer money perhaps one day they’ll realize that there are tools like the internet that can be used to help people with information and services and maybe get these lazy government workers to actually work like the rest of us.

I came here to get my out of state license changed and the experience was just the worse. The place is VERY RUN DOWN and the little staff they do have are aggressive and rude. Please be prepared to wait 2 hours before being seen here. No exaggeration!

Yeah so I got my license. And they spelled my name wrong. Idk why I didn't notice it during the process, so that's on me, but now I haven't been able to reach them to get it fixed.
