The Rail at La Stazione

The food is fantastic! As soon as a plate of their meatballs hit the table we had come to the right spot. The servings are large and delicious! The pizza - light and flavorful. We couldn’t help but to get dessert. The lemon mascarpone cake is remarkable. Not too sweet and a great lemon taste. But the chocolate cake is otherworldly. It melted perfectly with the side of vanilla ice cream and is the size of my head! We’ll certainly be going back!

Stopped by for lunch and couldn’t decide on what to order, ended up with an order of the Italian Onion Rings and Arancini to start, huge portions easily could have been split 4 ways. Hunger had set in and the Fig Pizza was calling my name, absolutely delicious and enough to split. The meatball sandwich was an afterthought and would highly recommend!

Given the amount of food I took leftovers home and everything reheated perfectly and was just as good as the first bite!

Looking forward to going back to try the veal and cocktails on the dinner menu!

We were looking for Italian food near Somersworth. I liked the reviews and thought we'd give this place a chance.
We walked in and were greeted immediately and seated by Joe, who turned out to be the owner. What followed was one of the greatest restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. I noticed Bolognaise on the menu and made a comment that I'd not had good Bolognaise in years. Joe brought out a sample for us to try. It was delicious! Joe explained the process of some of the dishes we were interested in. I was intrigued and wanted to try them all! My husband Peter opted for Veal Parmigiano while I chose the Chicken Marsala. Absolutely the best!
Joe asked me to mention that you might have to wait a few minutes more because everything is made fresh and to order.
This is definitely a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 experience.

One of the best meals I’ve had in years! Staff and food were amazing and all of our dinner party loved their entrees. Can’t stop talking about how wonderful everything was and I’m excited to return. There are so many other items on the menu I’m anxious to try.

We just had dinner here and it was outstanding. We stopped here on a whim with no knowledge beforehand and the food and service was phenomenal. We had the calamari which was incredible- filled with banana peppers and sea salt fried to perfection. Fresh warm bread brought to the table with an olive oil dip. My partner and I shared the chicken piccata with risotto which really stood out. I would love to see this place filled with people because they truly deserve it.

This may be the best restaurant experience we've ever had. Besides the delicious food, the service was amazing! Their portions are so large that we each had a meal the next day. Thank you to Joe and his staff for a wonderful night at The Rail.

The north end meets Somersworth! Delicious food! Outstanding personable service! If you haven't experienced it for yourself yet go soon before the line is out the door!!

By far the best Italian I have ever had!!! Fresh pasta was amazing, onion rings are out of this world and the chocolate cake with raspberry is the best I have ever had! The owner is amazing, super nice and gave us the best experience! Will be coming back every time in the area!

We were recommended by a friend and we couldn't have been happier that we tried this restaurant. The owner Joe welcomed us as we arrived and we instantly felt the hospitality. Our waiter "Q" was on point. He was knowledgeable, passionate about the food and an incredible bartender. We wanted to invite him to join us just so we could hear everything he had to say. It seemed like he had a wealth of knowledge but was mindful to not talk too much, so he could tend to the rest of the customers in this busy restaurant. The chef made me a custom vegetarian dish that was so scrumptious. The other two entrees we ordered were the filet which was incredibly delicious and the chicken Marsala was OUTSTANDING!!! The pasta is so fresh and the flavors !!!!!!' I didn't really want to write this review because I don't want this place to get so busy that I can't get a table but I just had to applaud this place because they have literally brought the North End of Boston to Somersworth. Well done. Well done !!!!

We stopped by on a Saturday night and ate at the bar. The owner waited on us and was personable and a delight to chat with throughout the evening. From the meatball appetizer to the chicken marsala (still dreaming about it), to the chocolate cake we were blown away by the quality of food. My boyfriend had a limoncello spritz which was delicious and all the other cocktails I watched them mixing up also looked amazing. Can’t wait to visit again!

We had a wonderful waitress. The food was very fresh and well prepared.
Never having been to this resturant, it was my choice to celebrate my birthday lunch. Disappointed with the lunch menu. I was expecting a few pasta choices on the menu. I did choose the Loaded Pizza which was very good.

The customer service is top-notch! One of the best! The food was delicious. We will be back!

I don't know about the atmosphere as I did take out but the photos look great from the website. The Italian onion rings were flavorful and nothing I have had before. A great treat.

The pasta dish was flavorful hit the spot. It will be 2 meals worth for sure. You can't be disappointed!

This was truly some of the best food and eating experiences I’ve had! We had an incredible time visiting The Rail at La Stazione. I picked the place because it was my partner’s birthday and he is Italian. He is often disappointed by Italian food at restaurants because he has high standards since his family cooks incredible Italian food. This place has some of the best reviews in the area for Italian which is why I chose it. While I was so excited for him to hopefully get good Italian food (spoilers: he did), I had very little expectations for myself as a vegetarian since the menu doesn’t have any vegetarian entrees. But the second I bit into the bread, I knew i would be happy because it was the best bread I think I’ve ever had. Every single ingredient was special, many items were local or imported from Italy. Our server, Q, was so funny and shared stories about all of the items. Q is the guy if you want to have an entertaining meal. He’s knowledgeable, quirky and delightful. Also the owner was so nice and checked in on us and offered us some amazing beverages to try. Speaking of beverages, the whiskey jacket may be one of the best drinks I’ve tried (and Q told us is award winning).
Going back to being a vegetarian, I tried to order something that was a modification of an entree with meat, and Q said he could do that for but suggested instead that he ask the chef to make something special because what I asked for would be great but not that exciting. The chef delivered, and I don’t exactly know what it was but it was soooo tasty! It had lots of vegetables including a mushroom sauce with shallots and homemade pasta, and it was a big enough serving that I got two more meals out of my leftovers.
I also had a Caesar salad (which has anchovies in the dressing - I technically am a pescatarian and eat seafood but I’m not a big enough fan to order seafood as an entree). That salad was amazing. You can tell the quality of the ingredients by how good the salad is was. My husband got the meatballs appetizer which he loved and said was very filling, so he ate some and took some home. I can’t remember what he got for an entree but he said it was delicious. We wanted to try dessert but we were way too full.
We will definitely be going back. It’s a 10/10 from me and I’d probably go back for the bread alone, not to mention the rest of the amazing food and the fun experience we had.

Pleasant surprise! Stumbled upon this place looking for a lunch spot after our kids baseball practice and decided to give it a try. Excellent traditional Italian - all scratch made. Chicken Parmesan was wonderful, Wagyu burger rated 10/10 by our 9 year old. Staff was friendly. Although we were dressed down in street clothes, you could certainly dress to impress for a nice night out!

Food and service was excellent!! We started with the meatballs and burrata which were both hearty and flavorful portions. Highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle. The pasta was fresh with plenty of yummy sauce, cheese, and mushrooms. My husband got the Sirloin Steak Tips and the marinade was flavorful and delicious. The servers and owner were so friendly and attentive. Looking forward to going back!

Dropped in for lunch while waiting for new tire replacement. Super clean, beautiful inside. Sat at the bar and chatted with Sofia. Great lunch and conversation! I will definitely return.

If you have not tried their sangria you are missing out. There food is amazing but every time we go we have to get the sangria

Really delicious food, creative drinks, and big portions! Very good atmosphere. Everyone was kind and all guests seemed to be having a wonderful time.

Visit with my wife was a pleasant surprise ! Very friendly, helpful staff. Got the feeling this is what I would get if ate in Italy ! Staff was helpful explaining what each entree was as many choices are very Italian in description (I needed help understanding and the staff was very helpful.) Be careful how much you order, portions are very large and are very delirious. Bread is fresh baked from scratch as was my meal. A pleasant evening well spent. We'll return soon!
