Limantour Beach

What a gem this beach is. If you want to take a nice long walk surrounded by breakers, seabirds and beaches this is your place. If you time it right you may even be alone or see very few people. If you hike to the bay at the far end, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning array of seals and shorebirds in numbers like may have existed 1000 years ago.

By far the coolest temperature compared to Stinson Beach and Bolinas. Very few people show up here. It’s a great place to go if you want to get away from the crowd.

I love this beach!! I love that I can chat with people or wave while walking by. Awesome sunsets. Never too crowded. Lots to explore, ample parking, restrooms

Phenomenal and historic beach. Natives have come out to this coast for thousands of years. Sir Francis Drake and his crew were the first English speakers to see experience the California coast. Besides all that the walk here is spectacular.

Good trail access and large parking lot for horse rigs and staging. There are a lot of gnats, so use the fly mask for horses and fly spray. You can connect to the beautiful Coastal Trail through the back access, behind the restrooms. This trail goes for miles and the most scenic in Point Reyes.

What a gorgeous beach!!!! I love it here. Went recently with my girlfriend and it was pretty empty. A perfect place for long beach walks and wave watching. One tip - if you stay after dark be careful as it can be hard to find the trail back to the parking lot!!

Beautiful views. Very large beach where you can walk for long distances. Will be very crowded on weekends. Very large parking lot that accomodates many vehicles.

One of my favorite beaches in Point Reyes. I saw 5 seals swimming altogether and found few jellyfishes on the shore too

Dog friendly beach recommended, bring some snacks as a nice jacket too. Bathrooms by the parking lot entrances

Relatively wide, long and sandy beach with pretty views. Nice to walk south along the shore.

great walking trails for bird watching. I bought a hat with an embroidered quail on it at the point reyes shore gift shop right before and then encountered a flock of quails on the path! Also blue herons, white pelicans, a blue jay, and egrets.

Great secluded Beach ⛱ - lots of nature and animals about. Be careful about going in water ( cold and sharky )

Great dog beach. Dogs have to go to the left (if your in the parking lot looking at the beach), away from the spit. Many miles of beach you can stroll along with your dog. Be aware some horses and seals are known to be out there occasionally.

This beach was a perfect place for relaxing in the sun. It was my first time visiting this area and I was glad I choose this spot for the day. It was filled with amazing views. The water was so blue. It was not very crowded. They also allow (with permit) bon fires on the beach. Plus this beach has great hiking trails the lead to the beach. You might also get to spot some sea lions. Plus you my take your pets on the left hand side of the beach.

We had an amazing day at Limantour beach. I have not been to this beach in several years as I have been busy in other parts of the park. I was very surprised at my last visit to see how perfect and beautiful everything still was.
We saw several deer on our hike and even in Winter the weather was very temperate and we did not need many layers.
