One of the oldest motels in Minnesota. Very small town. Very friendly place. We ate at the VFW. There is a bar called the liquor store that you can get food at too. ( I don't drink) went in there too. Very clean town. Great place to go to relax and get away. Go back in time. The business have done a great job at preservation. It's a hidden gem of a town. I personally can not wait to go there again.

The greatest hotel to ever exit anywhere on earth. Nothing could compare to the extravagant luxury that I experienced here; the room service is impeccable, and the facilities are truly a sight to behold. This is the place where dreams come true, where you never want to leave for home because the treatment you receive here cannot be matched by anything else imaginable. I felt a king and a god during my stay at Mable House, because the devotion that the staff and owners show to their guests is second to none. Books will be written about the enduring charm of the place, inspiring many hundreds of millions around the world to yearn for a chance to even grace their eyes upon the facade, watching with trepid anticipation about the wonders inside. Future courses for hospitality students will cover the operations of this hotel in significant detail. It is an experience that will never leave me, indeed it was life changing. My soul has been awakened like never before. If only it was possible to give this hotel a trillion stars, I would.

Beautiful historic building! New owner is so friendly and approachable :) We stayed in Room 4, which is an annex to the hotel proper, and was the size of a 3BR apartment with its own entry, kitchen, bath. This unit was a tiny bit rough around the edges, but only because the owner is in the midst of painting, repairing, etc. It was more like an Air BNB than a standard hotel experience, which I really loved. We got to see some of the rooms that are original to the hotel and they are beautiful! If you're in Houston or Fillmore counties for any reason I highly recommend staying here!

Update 2022! Just stayed a couple nights in Room 6, which is in the main part of the hotel, 2nd floor. 2br, 1 bath with a living room and kitchen area that now includes a full size range/oven and small fridge (not a mini). Basically like a tiny 2 bedroom apartment. Very comfy, and the owner was accommodating as always!

Alternately rustic/informal and Victorian antique. This property is still in the midst of repairs and upgrades (new owners). Don't expect fancy. Do expect quaint, rustic, homey, and comfortable (awesome bed mattresses(!) and new kitchen). We were in suite 4, which was just perfect for a bushel full of relatives in town for a college graduation.

I stayed in a sleeping room. The check-in was easy, just gave Christi a call and it was ready for me. Everything was clean. Comfortable bed, air conditioning and fan. TV with Netflix and roku, Wi-Fi. I wish I slept so well at home. It was like a peaceful partial journey back in time with the awesome woodwork and decor. I would come back.

Mom and I were on a road trip. We had no idea where we would be at the end of the day. So we didn't make reservations ahead of time. We called Crystal at Mabel House, and she had a room for us. It was more of a complete apartment. We brought our own food and was set for the night. Mabel is a quiet town and we got a good night's sleep. Would definitely stay there again!

We rented the whole hotel for a night. We got a really good deal and the caretaker was very friendly. The rooms had a variety of different sizes and layouts. I would recommend booking one of the larger suites in the back of the hotel. They are the most up to date.

I really enjoyed my recent three night stay at Mabel House. The hotel has maintained the ambiance of the oldest running Minnesota hotel, while also updating with modern conveniences. My room had remodeled bathroom, but also an antique dressing table. The bed was very comfortable and the TV even had Netflix. However, none of these renovations interfered with the feeling that I had stepped back in time, avoiding “cookie cutter” corporate hotels, and taking a break from our crazy fast paced world. It was a joy dealing with Crystal from booking to checkout.

We stayed 3nights in room 3 ! Loved it! Owner and small staff treated us like family! We had a full kitchen and a bed more comfortable than at home. Truly hated to leave ! We will be back!

Is the only hotel in town, and the hotel in the next town is out of business, There was a phone number on the door and the owner set us up in a few minutes. Very old hotel 1888,not creepy, small rooms, but clean and comfortable. There was a shared bath, which was not a problem, it was clean and well stocked. Would stay again
