Walker’s Dream Lookout is a great side trail to take when hiking around Mount Falcon.

John Walker (entrepreneur and one of the original founders of Red Rocks Amphitheater) had a grandiose vision of a summer Whitehouse perched on Mount Falcon with a commanding view of Red Rocks below. It isn’t far from his own “castle” which lies in ruins on an adjacent bluff.

The panoramic views from Walker’s Dream are worth the hike. On a clear day you get to see Denver and the plains stretching out in the background.

There is more than one way up to Walker's Dream but if you are a beginner hiker and you aren't prepared to push yourself, then this hike may be be difficult for you. I also suggest hitting the trail early because once it starts to warm up there is a good chance you will encounter snakes who are only wanting to sun themselves. I saw two snakes coming back down: One was a bull snake, the other was a rattlesnake. The ruins of the house are gated but there is plenty of space to walk around and among the ruins, just don't expect to walk among the actual walls of the house.

Nice views of the mountains to the west and Denver to the east. If the weather cooperates for an afternoon/evening hike, this is a cool place to see the sun set. Worth the hike up from the Mt. Falcon East Trailhead (>1500 vertical feet gain, but a gentle incline over 3 miles).

Beautiful trail with beautiful views. Moderate hike up to the top, with a gradual incline the whole way. Early trail is exposed but plenty of spots, mid way and at top, with shade.

Incredibly gorgeous views of the front range and downtown Denver all along a good aggressive well groomed trail hike up for 2 hours, and it's all dog friendly (legally speaking, on a leash). 2 days after a snow storm there was some mud to step around for the first half hour or so. Once at the top, the backside views of the mountains are also gorgeous. And this hike starts near red rocks, so it's very close to Denver! Awesome!

Beautiful views and not too difficult hike. Loved that it was dog friendly (with leash). Trails are wide and well maintained. It was busy but also quiet. Went early afternoon and really enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful, panoramic view of the front range, from south Denver on up to Broomfield! Downtown was easy to see, as was the Denver International Airport.

Great hiking trails with some incredible views. This is the furthest point from the West Trailhead, and is only about a mile and half back to the parking lot.

This is a great short hike if you are short in time. 6 miles RT in 2.5 hours. Great views, some tree coverage, nice trail overall.

This little up-and-back offshoot of the castle trail is worth it! Beautiful scenery and a place to sit for bit to take it all in.

We walked back down in the dark under the stars with the light eco of music coming from Red Rock, and then lights appeared in the sky. As the star link passed over us, it was Star link ....... we thought it was aliens

Its beautiful up there! Only down sides is Walker's Dream trail is a bit of a beast and there was only one bench and it was already taken.
