Outstanding place to enjoy a special occasion or a gun night out. The service was top-notch, our food was really good. I had the bison ribs. Very tender with a lot of flavor. They fell off the bone. My wife had the salmon. It was a little dry. It did not really have much seasoning or anything on it. She used a lime and liked it. The prices are pricey, but you do get a good amount of food. We were very full when we left.

Absolutely spectacular experience for our company dinner. The staff at The Fort helped me plan the perfect night. The setting was spectacular, service superb, and the food was delicious. I love the idea of a future date night… taking the helicopter from Hotel Golden to The Fort.

Wow just wow! Phenomenal food, amazing atmosphere and all of the staff were brilliant and extremely kind. My boyfriend and I went here for a date night. The Fort did not disappoint! Everyone was extremely accommodating and we had a wonderful view. The food was just fantastic, everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. This was our first time really having wild game as an entree; I’m so happy this was our first experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, we will definitely be back!

Food came out cold but was tasty and delicious. Wonderful guacamole appetizer and great dinner salad with pumpkin seeds. The fresh pumpkin rolls have special and unique flavors. There is a helicopter pad in front along with sweeping views of the front range.

What a thrill! We celebrated my birthday at this wonderful destination. For years, we've known about it and finally went. Our experience was exceptional. Our food was delicious. They definitely know what they are doing when it comes to preparing meat and game. We even tried the "sampler" platter appetizers that included Rocky Mountain Oysters, tongue, sausage, and guacamole. My meal was the Garlic Butter Bison Fillet, while my husband chose the combination plate of Bison, Elk Rib, and Quail. Because it was my birthday they provided a gratis dessert! Oh my! A chile chocolate bourbon cake. (I would return just for that! 😃) Our server and her assistant were both fantastic, always available for questions, and to provide beverage refills. Additionally, a wonderful strolling Native Flute player provides a wonderful history lesson about the property and amazing music! Thank you, Eric. (I wish I had gotten a picture with him.) The view, art, and architecture are well worth the effort and trip.

Great place. Really enjoyed everything about it. Big menu with lots of original options. Large dining room and the patio has a fantastic view. Staff is friendly. Will be back!

We have great experience here , get to know more about restaurant history, we came around 6 when it’s still light and after dinner you can see the beautiful view from the mountains . The breads and Caesar salad are delicious.

The food was amazing. I had duck, friend had buffalo ribs, another friend the elk stake. Everyone loved their food. Highly recommend it.

We went there with a large family that included six adults and five kids. The place was very busy as you’d expect at such a fine restaurant. The menu was quite plentiful so there was plenty of options to choose from. We knew it was going to be expensive and it was. Fortunately it was an overall great experience in terms of food quality and preparation but a bit slow on service. The cocktails were amazing but sure added to the price. It’s not a place we’d visit often just because of the prices but with the right situation The Fort would be on the top of our list!

The Fort was a great experience!! The food and drinks were amazing, service was on point and the atmosphere warm and cozy. If you’re looking to try some wild game, this is one place you will want to try. It’s right next to red rocks amphitheater, beautiful views of the city in the distance. They first opened in 1963 and have been servicing the people of Colorado with wild game for over 50 years. To start we tried the rocky mountain oysters, the bison eggs, historians platter as well as the buffalo tongue. For Our main course, we tried the 14 oz. Colorado natural beef New York strip steak w/ Fort Potatoes & the Forts game plate. For dessert we got the chocolate chili bourbon cake. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious!!

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service. The buffalo prime rib was better than I expected. Highly recommended, you can't go wrong by choosing to dine here.

Special Night Specialists! We celebrate our life together as often as possible. The Fort pulls out all the stops to make your night amazing. They have special drinks; we tried the huckleberry lemonade and the prickly pear cocktail. They have well thought out appetizers, a nice selection of wild game, beef, chicken, or vegetarian entrees. We ate the buffalo filet with peppercorn sauce and the green chile mac&cheese. Save room for dessert!!

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Colorado. Amazing cocktails, delicious food in good portions! The staff is always friendly and helpful. The wait staff is always gracious and accommodating for my disabled mother. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. You see the value on the plate for the money you spend. The attention to detail is top-notch. Truly a Colorado landmark. It's in my top five restaurants on the planet!

This place was absolutely amazing. One of the best meals I have ever had. The portions were very filling. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly down to every side and appetizer. The staff were very knowledgeable and had great input on the dishes and drinks they offered. The environment was very comfortable and not too loud. Please do yourself a favor and try this restaurant!

We attended a banquet presentation at The Fort. The service staff was excellent, very polite and attentive. I gave a 4 star for the food because it was dry by the time it arrived at the table. The flavor was excellent. We are planning another dinner without 30 others and I am expecting a perfect meal.

My husband and I dined here on a Thursday evening, on the recommendation of a friend. Our waitress, Ruth, was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. The food came out promptly and was hands down the best meal we've had in years. I had the elk medallions, my husband had the sampler plate (elk, bison, quail). I had an IPA and he had the smoked Sazerac cocktail. The whole experience was truly wonderful. We've been through some trying times recently and this impromptu trip to Colorado was meant to be a getaway to revive our spirits. A beautiful evening at The Fort was a huge part of doing just that.
