The Lazy Oak Bistreaux is right off the main highway downtown Ocean Springs. It looks like it was previously a house that has been converted into a restaurant they are adding on a front porch area for shade.

We stopped in on a Thursday morning it was not busy at all. We were greeted and seated immediately. The seating area was clean and there is space between each tables it doesn't feel like you're sitting on top of each other.

I really like the size of the menu it's not too much to choose from it's all relatively simple brunch food, but it is more upscale. For our drinks, my husband had a bloody Mary, and I had a cranberry mimosa. We decided to try an appetizer. We chose the alligator Cajun bites and they were good.

My husband had the get loaded and he added brown gravy egg and pico de gallo with side of skillet potatoes. All of the food came out hot and fresh.

Our server was really nice and friendly. Overall, five stars, great experience, we will be back!

Decided to try this location after searching the area for a new place to try. Must say it was so good that I came back a second day in a row. Both days I sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the weather. The deck is nicely shaded by large oak trees and has a large fireplace for cool evenings. The tea was sweet and fresh. The first day I tried the Bistreaux Burger and right then decided I was coming back. The burger can be ordered on French bread or a biscuit, I opted for the homemade biscuit and was glad. It was dressed and had a fried egg, I ordered over medium, and candied bacon. It had a small amount of maple syrup, not drenched, but just enough. The burger was fantastic. I came with a side which I chose garlic butter skillet potatoes. Good choice. My second trip I tried the Cajun shrimp grits which were covered in a Cajun cream sauce. They came with Texas Toast which I asked if I could sub one of the biscuits. I was told it would be no problem, +1 for allowing subs. The prices which were around $15-18 were reasonable and quite fair for the quality. Highly recommend if in the area.

Nice brunch place, somewhat small so you'll end up having to wait for a table some time, but that is any other good place along the gulf coast.

Their pancakes are really good, and the omelet with the soft shell crab is ridiculously tasty, you should try it.

it is a nice place hidden from busy roads

We loved this place. We decided to try it randomly and it has become one of our favorite places to eat. The food looks amazing and well portioned. The presentation makes me feel like they care how their food looks and tastes. This is definitely a place you should try if you haven't.

Dined at Lazy Oak for a late Sunday brunch and had a great experience. Starting with the loaded hash brown appetizer... think long tater tots loaded down with cheese, ranch, bacon, and green onions. Definitely don't skip this! The grit bowls were really good even though the grits had a finer grind than we were accustomed to. The shrimp in my grits were fried perfectly golden brown with a crispy batter.. the chicken in the southern grit bowl was fantastic as well. Perfectly fried, yet juicy and flavorful inside. The pancake (singular) was enormous. You're only going to want one, I promise. The Mardi Gras mimosa was interesting but we'll probably skip that one on the next visit. The service was stellar even though they were busy busy! Food was brought out hot and promptly, and we were checked on twice by the chef as he made his rounds after the rush. Definitely stop in and taste what these folks have cooking... it'll be worth it. Oh.. and don't snooze on their garlic bread. It was awesome!

Cute restaurant with easy parking. The food was incredible, best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. We tried the Texas toast, yogurt, biscuit sandwich with sausage, omelettes, pancake and glazed beignets everyone said they were delicious. Eating here is a must! We got there early on a Sunday to avoid a wait for our large party.

The food and staff were wonderful! Probably our favorite breakfast place from our honeymoon that spanned multiple states. NOTE: we had the beignets here, and comparatively, they are better than the ones we had in New Orleans!

Killer Food!
Menu attached.
Photo has days and hours of operation.

One of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The food was fresh and very good. My wife got the Harbor and the grits. You didn’t have to touch.
Been open for about 5 months.
Future plans are :

Five course fine dining Friday and Saturday night by reservation only. This is going to start in 4 to 8 weeks.

Catering for Friday and Saturday night .

Nightly dinners in the future.

Wedding, birthday parties, corporate gatherings.

This is some of the best food that I have had on the coast, this place, and maybe less than a year will be hard to get into. It is that good !

Delicious and casual. I came with my two kids and the service was fast enough to keep them satisfied. Tried the alligator bites which I really enjoyed. The crab omelette was super filling! Kids had chicken and waffles but the chicken was a little dry.

The food was absolutely phenomenal, we ended up here because another restaurant had an hour wait and I’m actually glad this is where we had our brunch. I had the beignets and I’m very particular about my beignets, these were the best I’ve had on the coast so far. Delicious and perfect texture with some added lemon. I also had a loaded latte & get loaded hashbrowns that were so good I kept eating after I was way past full! Highly recommend this place and we also had amazing service

Wow! The food was amazing! So delicious! I got the shrimp, crawfish and grits with a cream sauce. Best I’ve ever had. My companions were equally happy with their choices as well. They got a hash brown that was also best ever. We also got the desert beignets. They were perfect.

What a delight! Try "The Port" omelette, beautiful presentation, delicious, and well worth it! All the food we had was excellent. We got here an hour after opening on a Saturday (9am) and successfully avoided the crowds and had no wait for a table. The service was great too! The interior is very nicely decorated and warm. I love the historic wood floors mixed with the newer ceiling beams and lighting. The chairs are comfy too, perfect for when you're feeling full and Lazy.

I found it both the bartender and the waitress were fantastic. They served as well and gave us the best margaritas I have ever had. Caused me to return and see if it was a one time occurrence, but no. Every time it was fantastic.

What can I say! My husband and had breakfast at Lazy Oak on a Thursday. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff greeted us, the first customers of the day warmly. We both had the coffee crusted steak, eggs, potatoes and biscuits. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes seasoned well. Our eggs were great and we enjoyed our meal so much. The owner came out and checked on us and I can see why the service atmosphere and food is so great. He embodied a spirit of service toward his employees and us as customers. This business is a great representation of Ocean Springs.
