Easy winding trail with great views. The only drawback was that I picked ticks off myself and the dogs for hours afterwards.

My wife and I had a great hike. We went over 8 miles and enjoyed the entire time. Great views and level hike. The trail is not well marked so be mindful of where you’re going.

This is a nice hiking and biking trail. It isn't well marked, but if you just follow along the river it's quite easy to navigate. The trail is wide and footing is good. Most people seemed to be running or on bikes. Nice views of water and trees and wildlife.

Charming woods. Hours of trail to walk. Beware of ticks and I recommend using the AllTrails app

Gorgeous views of the river and tons of woodland to hike through! There is a set 6.9 mile trail you can find on the app, "all trails" and there are several other trails nearby that are unmarked but heavily traveled and not overgrown but even in january i had multiple ticks on me today and we had a pretty chilly November and December for the southeast. So use some high deet bug spray all over your legs. I forgot I only took pictures of the river on my Nikon and haven't uploaded them yet but these are some I took in the same area.

As far as biking goes, this was a lot of fun. You'll want a mountain bike. The roots are thick and large, the dirt can be muddy and even though the area is generally flat, there are a few fun up and downs. As for skill level, my wife and 8 year old daughter did it with me. Both are biking novices with an adventurous spirit. They had to walk their bikes a bunch on the harder path and a few times on the easier one, but they did it and had lots of fun. This was a great step up from the paths we did the day before at Skidaway State Park, which was also beautiful, but much less challenging and far more crowded.
I was worried about tics, snakes and gators based on reviews, but encountered none, although we went on a (relatively) warm day in February, used bug spray and stayed out of the brush. What we did encounter was beautiful scenery, great bird watching, some good fishing spots and rather unexpectedly, a pretty cool aquarium.

Really lovely trail! Right by the river and surrounded in trees. No markers on the trail - I suggest using a GPS map because there are lots of cross trails and it can be confusing. I use the AllTrails app. Lots of ticks in summer so dress appropriately.

Great place to go biking! Definitely, one of my favorite hidden gems in the area.

A coastal trail excellent for a leisurely hike through coastal forest along an algae pond, the marsh, and salt water creeks. Though mostly flat, it is also a beautiful and fun biking trail, our favorite trail to mountain bike in the Savannah area. It begins by Priest Landing and continues all the way to the Skidaway Oceanography Institute. For the view alone, it is well worth the hike or the ride! It is not part of Skidaway Island State Park, and there is no entrance fee.

A friend has been begging me to come with her here.. I'm so glad I did! Definitely awesome for a quick hike anytime, mountain bikes as well as my Onewheel and tons of spots to sit and fish, too! I couldn't recommend these trails more.

Never knew this was here, and that's after having a relative who worked in the landing, truly a hidden gem of a spot, can sit along the river, launch a kayak, dig for oysters and that's just the beach head.
The trail itself is gorgeous and well maintained, nothing too rough or crazy I'd say it's good for all age levels. Winds through the swamps and live oak forests providing a truly unique experience, looks like something lost in time, huge palmetto palms, oaks and coastal pines beautifully draped in Spanish moss, views of the marsh/river, If you love nature or taking pictures you'll love this place.
Only have three things of caution to mention but this do not impact the review, just something to be mindful of.
1. You're walking along swamp and forest, be mindful of snakes, gators, and hogs, not to be paranoid about but def worth keeping your eyes peeled.
2. The trail is narrow at points, keep your dog leashed, not much passing room, could see it being a problem if your dog isn't friendly with other dogs
3. Lots of partially rotted trees, pay attention not only where you step cause of roots, but be mindful of what's above you, if ya hear creaking or cracking MOVE

Excellent hiking area. Great place to take your trail bike and ride. A lot of unmarked trails and a bit easy to get lost in. Just follow the main trails and you'll be fine. Remember to bring bug spray and plenty of water as only certain areas of the trail have good forest cover.

Gorgeous biking trails. Hiking too. You'll see every shade of green you could have ever imagined. The trees and water are so beautiful. Hidden gem.

If you visit the area at low tide, there is a rip-rap dam that can provide a place to cross the narrow marsh onto Wormsloe. There was an old fortification here that is still visible in the terrain. Unless you have good balance and outdoor skills, I do not recommend visiting this wild area.

This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a long 7 mile nature walk. I do not recommend taking a baby stroller. I enjoy my time here. So peaceful and well maintained
